KCR convenes key BRS meet on Friday

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: A key meeting of Telangana’s ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) will be held on Friday.

A joint meeting of the BRS Parliamentary Party, Legislature Party and the State Executive will be held at Telangana Bhavan, the BRS headquarters here.

The meeting will be presided over by BRS supremo and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

In view of this being an election year, the meeting will discuss widely about the implementation of government programmes, party activities, etc.

BRS MPs, MLAs, MLCs, party State Executive Committee, district party Presidents, Zilla Parishad Chairpersons, state level Corporation Chairpersons, DCMS and DCCB Chairpersons will participate in the extended meeting.

Chandrasekhar Rao has said that all the invitees must attend this meeting.

The meeting also assumes significance of the notice issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to BRS MLC K. Kavitha in Delhi excise policy scam.

Kavitha, daughter of KCR, has been directed to appear for questioning in the case on Thursday in Delhi.

Kavitha, a Member of Legislative Council, has already left for Delhi but it was not clear if she will be appearing before the ED on Thursday.

The MLC said in a statement on Wednesday morning that as a law-abiding citizen, she will fully cooperate with the investigation agencies.

She, however, said in view of the planned dharna in New Delhi over women’s reservation Bill on Friday and prefixed appointments, she will seek legal opinions on the date of attending it.

Reacting strongly to the ED notice, BRS leaders have termed this as a political conspiracy by the BJP-led government at the Centre.

Kavitha’s father or her brother and state minister K.T. Rama Rao are yet to react to the development.

  • KCR unfolded drama to save Kavitha after Sisodia’s arrest: Bandi Sanjay

KCR unfolded drama to save Kavitha after Sisodia’s arrest: Bandi Sanjay

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticised the Bharat Rashtra Smaithi (BRS) chief K Chandrashekhar Rao for making a hue and cry over Sisodia’s arrest after sensing a threat for his daughter and BRS MLC K Kavitha.

Speaking to reporters at the BJP party headquarters, Sanjay claimed that the letter released to the media by the office of KCR on Sunday did not have the signatures of any of the opposition leaders.

Bandi Sanjay further ridiculed the letter purported to have been written by the leaders of various opposition parties to Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressing concern over the arrest of Aam Admi Party leader and former deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia.

He pointed out that K Chandrashekhar Rao was silent when there were allegations against his daughter Kavitha but unfolded a drama to save his daughter after Sisodia’s arrest.

“KCR has mastered such tricks and it must have been fabricated by him. Except for AAP, which is hand in glove with Bharat Rashtra Samithi in the Delhi liquor scam, no other party has officially responded to it. The two parties have ganged up and their intention is to see that there should be no investigation into any of their scams,” he said.

He pointed out that if Sisodia was not guilty, he would have got bail from the court.

“KCR knows that his daughter Kavitha will be the next to get arrested. That is why he is making a hue and cry over Sisodia’s arrest,” he said.

“How can he stoop down to the level of releasing a letter without obtaining the signatures of other party leaders?” he asked.

He alleged that in the past KCR had created a forged letter in the name of the Telangana BJP president on the flood relief from the Centre and also on Dalit Bandhu implementation.

“We shall soon collect one crore signatures on the corruption and scams of KCR and submit a representation to the President of India,” he added.

On KCR’s allegation that the Modi government was targeting the opposition parties, Sanjay said Modi’s philosophy was not to leave anybody if they made any mistake.

“But what is KCR doing? Is he not filing cases against the opposition leaders who question his misrule? He doesn’t give permission to the opposition leaders to stage dharnas and agitations but is foisting false cases against them,” Bandi pointed.

    Delhi excise scam so far:

Sisodia was arrested by the CBI and later remanded to judicial custody by Rouse Avenue District Courts. His bail plea is also pending before the court which will hear it on March 10.

The ED has filed two charge sheets, a main and a supplementary charge sheet, in the case and has made 11 arrests so far.

Butchibabu Gorantla is the former auditor of MLC K Kavitha whose name surfaced in the case was granted bail on March 7 and was asked to surrender his Passport.

  • Telangana: Bandi writes to KCR demanding new PRC for employees

Telangana: Bandi writes to KCR demanding new PRC for employees

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday wrote to chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao demanding for constitution of a new Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and the implementation of revised pay scales for employees and teachers from July.

In the letter, Bandi Sanjay said that he learned that the state cabinet would be meeting on March 9 to discuss various issues and take crucial decisions.

“The biggest issue that needs to be discussed immediately is the constitution of PRC to decide on the pay revision of state government employees and teachers, who played a major role in the movement for separate Telangana state by stalling the administration for nearly 42 days,” said the BJP state president.

Apart from pay revision, Sanjay said the cabinet should also discuss the implementation of pre-poll promises made by KCR.

“The chief minister has a moral responsibility to protect the rights of the employees but he is cheating them at every stage,” he alleged.

Sanjay said that the validity of the first PRC, headed by CR Biswal, would expire by June 30 and the new PRC would have to be implemented from July 1.

He further said that the government did not release the fourth Dearness Allowance (DA) instalment until now.

“The first PRC report, which was supposed to be implemented with effect from July 1, 2018, had been delayed for nearly 21 months. Even the arrears have not been paid in several cases,” said Sanjay.

The BJP president said that the KCR government did not appoint a new PRC till now. “This is nothing but cheating lakhs of employees and teachers. How can revised pay scales be implemented without any committee report?” he asked.

Sanjay alleged that the government was trying to avoid revision of pay scales by deliberately dodging the appointment of a new PRC.

“These kinds of delaying tactics are not acceptable. This is a huge injustice to the employees. BJP will agitate on their behalf,” he said.

He demanded that the government appoint a new PRC immediately and get the report within three months and implement revised pay scales from July 1.

Sanjay alleged that the government is not paying salaries to the employees and teachers on the first day of each month.

“On the other hand, he ruined their lives by transferring them indiscriminately in the name of GO 317 implementation,” he said.

“Nearly 99 percent of the promises made by the chief minister before the last elections have not been implemented,” he said.

Sanjay said that the promises which were yet to be implemented are crop loan waiver, supply of free urea to farmers, one job in each family, payment of unemployment allowance, implementation of Dalit Bandhu for all Dalits, three acres of land to Dalits, Girijan Bandhu, Chenetha Bandhu etc.

“We demand that the forthcoming cabinet should discuss all these promises and take appropriate decisions. Otherwise, the BJP will take up people’s movements in a big way and the government alone would be held responsible for the people’s revolt,” Sanjay said.

Hyderabad, March 1 (IANS) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday appointed farmers’ leader Himanshu Tiwari as the general secretary of the party.

The 31-year-old hails from Uttar Pradesh. As BRS national general secretary, he will actively participate in the organisational work of BRS.

Tiwari was part of United Kisan Morcha in 2020-2021, and a member of National Executive of Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) that vociferously opposed three controversial farm laws.

Tiwari belongs to a freedom fighter’s family at Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. He obtained Masters in Computers from Varanasi. Since 2015, he has been actively involved in farmers’ agitation at the national level. He was running a nation-wide agitation against the Land Acquisition Ordinance and played a role in national coordination of the farmers movements.

Himanshu launched the 21 days Padaytra from Champaran in Bihar to Banaras, Uttar Pradesh and mobilised thousands of people in Jan Jagran Padayatra.

Meanwhile, KCR has also appointed six divisional coordinators of BRS for Maharashtra. Dasrath Sawanth has been appointed as the coordinator of Nashik division. Balasaheb Jairam Deshmukh will be the coordinator for Pune division.

Telangana: YS Sharmila dares KCR for an open debate on irrigation projects

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: In a scathing attack on the BRS-led Telangana government for its ‘gross failure’ to complete irrigation projects on time, YS Sharmila dared him to come on a public debate and discuss the 30 pending projects that have been receiving ‘ill-treatment’ by his government.

“After all his tall talk and fake oaths to complete all irrigation projects in Telangana on time, the KCR government has utterly failed the farming community by not completing any project. Having spent Rs 1.2 lakh crores on Kaleshwaram Project after redesigning and renaming Pranahita Chevella, all for the sake of commissions, only 57000 acres of land received irrigation. Barring this, no other project was accomplished in these nine years,” she stated.

Sharmila further said, “During late YSR’s rule, 33 projects were launched and fast-tracked too, and by 2016-17, the projects were in a decisive stage of advancement, running towards completion. Alisagar and Gaddenna Suddavagu were completed by 2017. After YSR’s demise in 2009, and until 2014, the pending projects’ fate continued to hang in a balance, and they still don’t see the light of the day, thanks to KCR’s apathy and his government’s anarchy.”

Sharmila alleged that the chief minister is reluctant to complete the remaining 10% works of the Jalayagnam projects.

“Just Rs 85 crore was all that was enough to complete 16 pending projects and give water to 35 lakh acre,” she claimed.

“On top of it, his statements make a joke of his government where he promises to irrigate one crore acres. I dare the father and son (KTR) to come on a public debate and I will show with proof, how and where the works are stuck. It is for votes that they are misleading people on these projects,” added Sharmila.

Means to divert attention: BRS party supremo KCR condemns Sisodia’s arrest

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo and state chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) has condemned the arrest of Delhi deputy chief minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the alleged liquor policy scam case.

The BRS party released a statement from its official Twitter page saying, “We condemn the arrest of Delhi Dy CM Sri Manish Sisodia by CBI. It is nothing more than diverting people’s attention from Adani – Modi nexus. – CM Sri KCR”

Earlier in the day, BRS working president and IT minister K T Rama Rao (KTR) termed Sisodia’s arrest as undemocratic and alleged that the BJP’s treatment of opposition is vicious.

KTR said that Sisodia’s arrest is part of a conspiracy to use central government agencies to weaken the parties in the states and in regions where the BJP cannot come to power.

Terming Sisodia’s arrest as the height of the BJP’s vendetta politics, he said that Sisodia was arrested after BJP suffered defeat in the Delhi mayoral election.

Delhi court on Monday ordered Sisodia to a five-day CBI custody after the latter said the conspiracy was hatched in a very deliberate and covert manner.

Sisodia’s lawyer opposed the agency’s remand application, arguing, “If someone is not willing to say something, that can’t be a ground for arrest”.

KCR family’s scams scaring industrialists from investing: Bandi Sanjay

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana’s Bharatiya Janata Party president Bandi Sanjay Kumar attacked chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his family, including IT minister KT Rama Rao and accused them of distracting investors thanks to their alleged involvement in land scams.

Bandi Sanjay was attending the Praja Gosa-BJP Bharosa street corner meeting at Alair on Saturday. “Foreign industrialists are scared of investing in the state because of the land scams involving KCR’s family and kickbacks they are demanding,” he said.

Sanjay alleged that the BRS government had not been able to attract even attracted half of the investments received by neighboring Karnataka.

“As many as 150 countries have come forward to invest in India. More than 50% of all the foreign investments India had received in the last 75 years have come only during the Modi regime. Despite having a potential city like Hyderabad, Telangana has not received even 5% of the country’s investments. It shows how atrocious KCR’s regime is,” he said.

“This is just a humbug, If the BRS led by KCR is pulled down from power, the value of the life sciences industry would go up to Rs 50 lakh crore,” said Sanjay in response to K T Rama Rao’s statements on life sciences ecosystem on Friday.

Sanjay said that KTR, who was basking in the glory of his father, was making tall claims about his achievements.

“He could become BRS working president only because of KCR. In fact, no other leader except the one from KCR’s family can become CM or even BRS president. But in BJP even an ordinary party worker can become national and state unit president,” he said.

“While the Modi government sanctioned 2.5 lakh houses for the houseless poor in Telangana, KCR has not taken it up only to deny credit to Modi,” Sanjay said.

Sanjay alleged that the KCR family was grabbing precious lands in the name of temple development. “He has done the same in Yadadri and now he is eyeing lands in Kondagattu,” Sanjay added.

Congress empty, KCR working to build coalition to take on BJP: Kavitha

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Saturday said her father, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was working to put together a strong front of regional parties to take on the BJP.

Her party has good relations with Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, she said, speaking to reporters here.

“There is only one front, BJP, in the country. The Congress is empty. There is no front or tent (of opposition). We have good relations with Uddhav Thackeray and Sharad Pawar. KCR (Rao) is working to build a strong alternative of regional parties and that will be the alternative front,” the Telangana legislator said.

Maharashtra and Telangana have a close bond as the two states share a border of more than 1,000 km and Vidarbha (eastern Maharashtra) is inspired by KCR’s leadership, she said.

“Our agenda is people-oriented development. We are looking for a progressive partner like Maharashtra. The state’s icons are inspirational. We work for time-bound development,” she said.

  • Telangana: Bandi Sanjay accuses KCR of installing meters for pump sets

Telangana: Bandi Sanjay accuses KCR of installing meters for pump sets

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday accused chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) of conspiring to instal meters for agriculture pumpsets and throwing the blame on the Centre.

Speaking to reporters after calling on the BJP workers of Kamalapur, who were arrested and released from jail later, Sanjay said the KCR government had written a letter to the Centre stating that it would instal meters for agriculture pumpsets, as a pre-condition for borrowing more loans.

“It has been a practice for KCR, whenever there are elections in the state, to propagate utter lies stating that if the BJP comes to power, it would instal meters for agriculture motors. Now, I will prove that the state government itself has written a letter to the Centre agreeing to the condition that it would instal meters to the pumpsets for obtaining more loans,” he said.

Stating that the electricity department would not take up installation of meters for farm pumpsets without a green signal from the chief minister, Sanjay challenged the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to prove him wrong.

The BJP president also dubbed the chief minister a liar for claiming to provide round-the-clock power supply to agriculture sector free of cost.

“It is a blatant lie. In fact, in many villages, nobody knows when the power supply gets disconnected. The electricity authorities are informing the farmers about disconnection of three-phase power supply. Yet, KCR and his cabinet colleagues are indulging in lies,” he said.

Sanjay said the entire electricity department was in deep crisis with employees not getting salaries on time and the power bill arrears to the extent of Rs 20,000 crore were piling up with the discoms due to non-payment by the government departments.

“The government is not compensating to the Discoms for the free power supply. The Discoms, which are reeling under losses to the extent of Rs 70,000 crore, are on the verge of closure,” he alleged.

Sanjay also accused the KCR government of spreading canards against the Centre on approval to Bayyaram Steel Plant, release of Central grants to the state and privatisation of Singareni. “We have thrown a challenge to the chief minister that we shall expose his lies. But he has not responded to our challenge so far,” he said.

Sanjay lashed out at the police for foisting false cases against the BJP workers of Kamalapur who countered the attacks of the BRS leaders on local BJP MLA Eatala Rajender.

“The police resorted to indiscriminate lathi-charge on the BJP workers. The BRS will be in power only for a few months. After the BJP comes to power, we shall take these police officials to task. They have to be ready to face he repercussions,” he stated.
