Religious ignorance, fanaticism threat to society: KCR in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao participated in the Bhumi Pooja programme of Hare Krishna Heritage Tower in Kokapet on Monday.
He laid the foundation stone in a traditional ceremony and paid tributes to Lord Srila Prabhupada.
Thanking the organisers, KCR spoke about the misuse of religion and the impact it creates in societies. “Religion is universal. There is nothing wrong with religion. Religious ignorance and fanaticism are a threat to us. Religion does not encourage us to make mistakes. But religious stupidity takes all human beings into madness and a trans,” he said.

“Religious madness promotes humans to commit inhuman acts. There is no place for violence in any religion. Religion is the cause of violence all over the world. It is not mentioned in our Hindu religion. Lord Krishna did not say about violence. Some people added religious fanaticism and created a lot of trouble,” he added.
He also thanked Hare Krishna Heritage for supporting the government by providing food to millions of children in the city.

Hyderabad: 26-yr-old engineer ends life in Tappachabutra

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old software engineer died by suicide at Tappachabutra on Sunday morning reportedly over personal issues.
According to Tappachabutra sub-inspector, T Shobha, the deceased, T Blessington, an employee of a software company, jumped from the terrace of his apartment and died on the spot after severe head injuries.
“Blessington had called up his father over the phone and apologised before taking the extreme step. The deceased had revealed to his father that he was disappointed for not achieving the things he aimed for in his life,” SI T Shobha said.

Hyderabad: Bike taxi rider saves 6-year-old from rape in Errum Manzil

Hyderabad: A six-year-old girl found a good samaritan in a bike taxi rider when the latter saved her from getting raped by a 19-year-old man at Errum Manzil.
According to the Punjagutta police, the incident took place on Friday night when the cab driver was waiting for a pickup. He noticed the accused from a distance beating the girl.
Acting quickly, he intervened. Upon questioning, the accused claimed the girl was his daughter. However, the girl refuted her abuser’s claims and complained about pain in her private parts.

Following this, the cab driver immediately informed the police. The accused, a fruit vendor, was arrested under the POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act) and sent to judicial remand on Sunday.
“Had the driver not intervened on time, the situation would have been worse,” said a police officer.
The police officer revealed that the accused and the minor were residents of the same local slum. The accused would often force himself on her whenever she was alone, the police officer said.

Hyderabad: Section 144 imposed in 3 TSPSC examination centres

Hyderabad: Section 144 has been imposed by the police around the premises of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) examination centres on May 8 and 9.
The Cyberabad and commissioner and Hyderabad city police commissioners imposed section 144, which bars any gathering around the premises of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) examination centres.
In a press note from both the police commissionerates, the police cautioned the general public from gathering in a group of four or more persons within 500 yards at all three examination centres of the TSPSC, where computer-based recruitment test examinations will be held on May 8 and May 9 in Hyderabad.

A press release from Cyberabad police commissioner Stephen Ravindra said, “Any person found violating the orders will be dealt with according to the law under section 144 Cr. PC. The order will remain in force from May 10 at all Examination centres of TSPSC,” it added.
The TSPSC exams are being conducted for the post of Assistant Executive Engineer, Electric Engineer and Mechanical /Agricultural Engineering in various engineering departments.
Two more arrested in TSPSC paper leak case
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Telangana police probing Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam paper leak case has arrested two more accused.
Bhagwant, who works in the office of Vikarabad Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) and his brother Ravi Kumar have been arrested by the SIT. Officials found during the investigation that Bhagwant purchased a question paper of Assistant Engineer (AE) exam from one of the accused Dhakya Nayak for his brother Ravi Kumar.

Hyderabad: Rs 25 crore announced for Hare Krishna Heritage Tower works

Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday announced Rs 25 crore for the construction of Hare Krishna Heritage Tower in the city.
The Hare Krishna Movement (HKM) organized Bhumi Puja ceremony for the monument, which is 400 feet (120 meters) tall and is meant to be major religious and cultural landmark in Hyderabad.
Taken up at a cost of Rs 200 crore, the tower consists of temples that have a linkage through various religions and will likely be completed by 2028.

About the Tower
The Tower will be constructed on a sprawling six-acre campus at Goshpada Kshetra (land sanctified by cows) in Narsingi. The deities’ of Radha and Krishna along with the eight gopis known as Asthasakhis, will be installed in the grand temple hall.
A traditional stone-carved temple with a large prakara dedicated to Sri Srinivasa Govinda, inspired by the world-renowned Sri Venkateshwara Swamy shrine in Tirumala will be there in the Tower that will draw architectural elements from Kakatiya, Chalukya, Dravidian and other ancient styles.
The campus will have features like a library, museum, and multi-vision theatre for the spiritual and cultural education of children, youth, and families.
Various attractions integrated with the latest technologies, such as hologram and laser projection, will create engaging and immersive experiences for visitors and present our rich culture and heritage in a captivating manner, a grand vaidika samkara hall and pilgrim guest rooms have also been built that can be utilized for large gatherings.
Speaking after laying the foundation for the Hare Krishna Movement’s Heritage Tower at Narsingi, KCR said that the state government would extend all support to organizations, which follow peaceful, devotional practices.

Recalling that the Telangana government has built the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Yadadri in a very decent way and was being appreciated by one and all, KCR said that the Anjaneya Swamy Temple at Kondagattu and Vemulawada and Kaleshwaram temples are also under construction.
Stating that the Hare Krishna Heritage Tower should serve society in both devotional and social ways, KCR said, “If you want to have peace, it can be derived from prayers at temples and other religious structures.”
“Religious ignorance among people creates trouble for humans. No religion promotes hatred but religious ignorance takes people into a trance and forces them to perform inhuman activities,” added KCR.
“Right from school children to IT employees, many were relishing hot, hygienic, and nutritious food through Annapurna Centres. Not a single complaint has been lodged to date. After relishing the food, students and even high-income group people were appreciating the state government and Akshaya Patra Foundation,” added KCR.

Hyderabad: Renowned gynaecologists Dr Zaibunnisa have filed a police complaint regarding the verbal and physical threats they have been facing from certain individuals after exercising their constitutional right of choosing a sector of Islam and renouncing the Mahdavia faith. The senior citizen has written a complaint letter to the Inspector of Police South East Zone, Hyderabad.
She has claimed that she has been facing extremely dirty verbal threats that violate her dignity as a woman and have caused mental trauma. The situation has now escalated to death threats being sent to them via WhatsApp audio.
She accuses Asrar Ahmed Khan of Chanchalguda, Hyderabad, the main mastermind behind the threats. She lives alone and has multiple health concerns, feels that they are in their last phase of life and it is unfortunate that they should undergo this kind of mental trauma and threats of death.

Dr Zaibunnisa is a well-known senior gynaecologist based in Malakpet, Hyderabad. With so many years of experience in her field, she has earned a reputation as a skilled and compassionate medical professional.

Hyderabad girl among nine killed in Texas mall shooting

Hyderabad: A 27-year-old girl from Hyderabad, identified as Aishwarya, lost her life along with eight other people in the Texas mall shooting that took place on May 6, 2023.
She was the daughter of Additional District Judge Tatikonda Narsireddy, who is currently working at the Ranga Reddy District Commercial Courts complex. The incident occurred when Aishwarya was shopping with her friends at the Allen Premium Outlets mall in Texas.

In the shooting, the gunman opened fire at the crowded mall, killing at least eight people before being shot dead by a police officer. The shooting started around 3:30 pm on Saturday, causing shoppers to panic and flee the area. Videos captured shoppers exiting the mall as employees scrambled into storage areas to hide when they heard gunshots.

Witnesses reported some people sheltered in place for up to two hours while law enforcement cleared the sprawling complex.
Governor Greg Abbott called the shooting an “unspeakable tragedy” and stated that the state was ready to offer any assistance to local authorities.
The White House announced that President Biden had been briefed on the shooting and offered support to local officials.

Hyderabad: 60 cops felicitated for improving fitness with ‘Fitcop’

Hyderabad: Efforts of 60 policemen who showed improvement in their health standards since the initiation of Fitcop, were recognized by City Police Commissioner CV Anand on Sunday.
As many as 16,000 policemen were screened a few weeks back after the Hyderabad police in association with Helping Hand Foundation (HHF) launched Fitcop, a mobile application a few months ago.

Those cops that fell into the high-risk category were periodically evaluated following which it was found that 60 of them were making sincere efforts to transform themselves.

Speaking on the occasion, C V Anand, stressed the importance of nutritious diet intake and explained the benefits of weight training, and stretching.
While sharing tips on striking a correct balance between maintaining muscle and shedding excess weight, the commissioner asked the staff officers to replicate the health culture within their families as well.
The commissioner further suggested the policemen patrol on foot whenever they could for better public engagement, which in turn would facilitate burning calories while they work.
Additionally, he instructed the HHF team to follow up with the high-risk category candidates on a daily basis
