Upon suspicion that Hanamkonda police commissionerate would be encircled by the BJP party workers, the police have reportedly tightened the security.

Bharatiya Janata Party’s Telangana unit chief Bandi Sanjay will hold a protest march against “unemployment” in the state on Saturday, the party said.

BJP Spokesperson NV Subhash told ANI, that the march is scheduled to start from Kakatiya University to Ambedkar Statue and will be joined by people from different walks of life.

“Their dreams have been shattered. We have approached the court and demanded immediate action to be taken against Rao. A sitting high court judge should be appointed to investigate the scam. Students who have appeared for the exam should be compensated,” the BJP leader said.

“There will be many intellectuals who are going to join the Nirudyoga March from Warangal. Job aspirants will also be joining,” he said, adding they have got police permission for the same.

The next leg of his march will be from Mehboobnagar on April 21 followed by Khammam, for which the dates are still being finalised, the BJP said.

“I will be doing 10 rallies across the state and then conclude with a mega rally in Hyderabad,” Bandi Sanjay told ANI earlier.

An uninhabited cottage covered with clapboards is burning on the island. At six o’clock there was only one wall left of the cottage.

“When we got there, the fire had already progressed far. Extinguishing the fire would have been a slow and tedious operation,” says the fire marshal on duty Kari Ursin.

According to Ursini, extinguishing the “shack” would have required the transportation of firefighting equipment on a surface rescue raft or, alternatively, breaking the ice in order to obtain firefighting water from the sea.

The police are investigating the cause of the fire.

As women get older their skin changes and it no longer looks plump and youthful. Wrinkles around the eyes, often known as crow’s feet, is one of the most common skin problem faced by women growing old. • Trump committee burns through cash in early months, new filings show

Trump committee burns through cash in early months, new filings show

    [ad_1]

    election 2024 trump 63888

Despite those high expenses, the fundraising committee — which had money in the bank going into December — still distributed significant funds to Trump’s campaign committee, enabling him to pay staff and fund a variety of campaign initiatives over the holidays.

But the high costs of fundraising are an ominous sign, as the early days of campaigns are often a time for candidates to reap easy cash from enthusiastic donors.

Trump has significant fundraising work to do ahead of what could be a grueling election cycle. His campaign reported only $3 million in cash on hand, compared to more than $19 million that his campaign had at the same time in the 2020 election cycle. Four years ago, the then-president also did not have a competitive primary approaching.

The former president’s fundraising numbers would still be enviable for many candidates. December is typically a slow fundraising month, and the fundraising committee raised more than $15 million in October and November, mostly before Trump’s presidential campaign launched. Declining rates of return on digital fundraising is a problem that has plagued many candidates. But Trump was once considered the exception to his party’s digital fundraising woes, as he raised record sums online during the 2020 election cycle and continued raising large amounts of money after he left office in 2021.

“President Trump has raised $21.3 million in the last quarter, proving that he is an unstoppable force that continues to dominate politics,” said Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign. “The campaign built out a second-to-none operation both on the national level and in early states since announcing. The President will wage an aggressive and fully-funded campaign to take our country back from Joe Biden and Democrats who seek to destroy our country.”

Trump will still benefit from significant outside money. A super PAC backing him, MAGA Inc., reported having $54 million in cash on hand at the end of 2022 and will likely look to target potential GOP primary opponents in advertising — a costly part of any campaign.

Overall, Trump’s fundraising committee spent over $250,000 on top political consultants and staff, while his campaign spent another more than $330,000 on staff and consultants.

The joint fundraising committee paid more than $4,400 to GS2LAW PLLC, the law firm representing Trump in his lawsuit against journalist Bob Woodward over audio of their interviews released by Woodward. Other major campaign expenses in December included $67,000 spent at Mar-a-Lago and a $5,000 donation to the Republican Party of Iowa.

The filings give some clues as to who exactly is working with Trump in the early days of his campaign. Aides say Trump’s 2024 operation, headquartered in West Palm Beach, Fla., not far from Trump’s Mar-a-lago club, is expected to be scrappier than the large 2020 campaign based at a high rise in Virginia.

Over $50,000 went towards paying advisers like Boris Epshteyn and Christina Bobb, who have assisted the former president on his numerous legal cases. The fundraising arm also paid longtime Trump aides like Lynne Patton, who has worked closely with the Trump family for years and was with Trump since his first campaign, and Dan Scavino, Trump’s director of social media in the White House who will continue that work on the campaign.

Other aides included in the filing include Margo Martin, who worked for Trump in the White House and has continued to be a press and communications aide for his reelect, Liz (Harrington) Shrew, a spokeswoman for Trump who frequently appears on right-wing media, Justin Caporale, a Melania Trump aide-turned-operations adviser, and Danny Tiso, a press lead for the campaign.

Vincent Haley and Ross Worthington, Trump’s top policy advisers and speechwriters who worked with him in the White House, are on the campaign payroll. And so are two of the people frequently at Trump’s side: Natalie Harp, the young OAN anchor-turned-aide, and Walt Nauta, Trump’s former military aide in the White House who moved down to Florida to continue to work for Trump and found himself at the center of Trump’s Mar-a-lago document drama.

Dubai: Customer suffers burns as waiter spills liquid nitrogen; offered free meal

    [ad_1]

Abu Dhabi: A diner at a high-end Japanese restaurant Tabu in Downtown Dubai, suffered minor burns after a waiter accidentally spilt liquid nitrogen on her back during a theatrical presentation of dishes.

Aline Fleihan, an architect who lives in Saudi Arabia, when on a visit to Dubai and dining with her friends at a restaurant when the alleged incident happened.

The incident happened on Friday, January 20. “We were four at the table. About an hour later, the waiter was passing by, carrying a large tray above his head that was packed with food and drinks and the liquid nitrogen container. He dropped it by accident, and it fell on my back,” Aline told Khaleej Times.

Aline Fleihan, took to Twitter to slam the restaurant for dropping a tray of liquid nitrogen on her back— which resulted in instant burns all over the contact areas.

“I am so frustrated and traumatised of what happened to me on Friday night as I was having dinner in Tabu, where the waiter dropped a tray with liquid nitrogen on my back and caused burns all over my neck and back and I had to complete my night at the ER,” Aline tweeted.

“It is such a shame the amount of irresponsibility and ignorance the management dealt with such an incident especially that Tabu is one of the prestigious restaurants in #Dubai,” Aline said.

“Actually they offered me a dinner for 4 to compensate the damage!” Aline adds.

Aline warns about the dangers of liquid nitrogen, “LN2 is a dangerous chemical of -196 degrees. Please be cautious whenever you go to restaurants, they use this chemical to do shows (smoke) in food and beverages.”

As per media reports, according to Aline people around her thought she was on fire because of the amount of smoke immediately after the liquid nitrogen was dropped on her.

David Lescar, the founder of Japanese restaurant Tabu, called the incident unfortunate in an email to Khaleej Times and said the restaurant was “extremely sorry” about the “guest experience”.

  • Denmark: Paludan burns copies of Quran, insults Prophet Muhammad

Denmark: Paludan burns copies of Quran, insults Prophet Muhammad

    [ad_1]

The leader of the Danish far-right Hard Line party, Rasmus Paludan, on Friday burned a copy of the Holy Quran in front of a mosque and Turkish embassy in the Denmark capital, Copenhagen, under police protection.

Paludan, who also holds Swedish citizenship, burned the copy of Quran in front of a mosque belonging to the “Islamic Community Association” after the end of Friday prayers in the Dorthevig neighborhood, for the second time in a week.

As per a report by Anadolu Agency, Paludan tried to provoke the Muslims leaving the “Friday prayer” by insulting the Prophet Muhammad, but the worshippers acted calmly and moved away from the place.

The police took strict security measures in the vicinity of the mosque, and closed the street to traffic.

Those in charge of the mosque raised the takbeers with loudspeakers.

Paludan left the area, escorted by the police, after staying there for about 40 minutes.

Shortly after he burned the copy of Quran in front of a mosque, Paludan burned a copy of the Holy Quran again in front of the Turkish embassy in Copenhagen, for the third time in a week.

On Thursday, Paludan on Instagram announced that he would burn a copy of the Holy Quran in front of a mosque in Denmark and near the Turkish and Russian embassies, and that the authorities allowed him to do so.

    Ankara condemns

The Turkish Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Danish authorities’ permission to burn a copy of the Holy Quran in front of the Turkish embassy and opposite a mosque in Copenhagen, under police protection.

“We condemn in the strongest terms allowing the hate crime committed against our holy book, the Holy Quran, to be repeated in Sweden again today in the Danish city of Copenhagen by the  same anti-Islam charlatan,” the ministry said in a statement.

It pointed out that the failure to prevent this “despicable act” that was committed in Denmark this time after Sweden and the Netherlands, despite all Turkey’s warnings, is cause for concern in terms of “exposing the dangerous dimensions that religious intolerance and hatred have reached in Europe by exploiting the so-called atmosphere of freedom.”

On Saturday, January 21, Paludan burned a Quran near the Turkish embassy in the Swedish capital, Stockholm, under strict police protection, which prevented anyone from approaching him while he was committing this act.

Turkish  President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Sweden could no longer count on Turkey’s “support” in its NATO membership file.

Paludan, a lawyer, founded far-right parties in Sweden and Denmark that failed to win any seats in national, regional or municipal elections. In the parliamentary elections, which took place last year in Sweden, his party got only 156 votes nationwide.

On a large scale, this abuse caused an uproar in the Arab world, and Turkey considered it a “provocative act” of “hate crimes,” and canceled a visit by Swedish Defense Minister Pal Johnson to Ankara.

This was followed by a similar incident when Dutch politician Edwin Wagensfeld, head of the far-right PEGIDA party, tore pages from a Bible before setting it on fire.

Turkey condemns burning of Qur’an during far-right protest in Sweden

Turkey has condemned a demonstration involving the burning of Qur’ans in Sweden on Saturday, further inflaming tensions between the two countries amid Stockholm’s Nato bid.

The protest in Stockholm, which took place under heavy police protection in front of Turkey’s embassy, gathered about 100 people and a crowd of reporters, Agence France-Presse reported.

Far-right politician Rasmus Paludan, who staged the event, gave an hour-long speech against Islam and immigration before setting fire to a copy of the Qur’an.

A day prior, Turkey’s foreign ministry summoned Sweden’s ambassador over the permission granted to Paludan’s protest. It was the second time Sweden’s ambassador to Turkey has been summoned this month, after having had to answer for a 12 January stunt during which a Kurdish group hung an effigy of Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in Stockholm.

Worldwide condemnations pour in over Sweden allowing Quran burning

On Sunday, several countries worldwide continued to condemn Sweden allowing a politician to burn a copy of the Quran, Islam’s holy book, under police protection in Stockholm.

With permission from the government, Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the Hard Line party, burned a copy of the Quran outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on Saturday.

“Saudi Arabia calls for spreading the values of dialogue, tolerance and coexistence and rejects hatred and extremism,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry said.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms the State of Qatar’s total rejection of all forms of hate speech based on religion or race and rejecting the involvement of sanctities in political disputes. Furthermore, the ministry warns that hate campaigns against Islam and the discourse of Islamophobia witnessed a dangerous escalation through the continued frequent calls for repeated targeting of Muslims worldwide,” Qatar said.

The incident “hurts Muslims’ sentiments across the world and marks serious provocation,” Kuwait’s foreign minister, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al Jaber Al Sabah, said in statements cited by the state-run Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

He called the international community “to shoulder responsibility by stopping such unacceptable acts and denouncing all forms of hatred and extremism and bringing the perpetrators to accountability.”

The Egyptian Foreign Ministry decried the Quran burning as a “disgraceful act.”

A ministry statement warned that this “disgraceful act provokes the feelings of hundreds of millions of Muslims worldwide.”

“These extremist practices are inconsistent with the values of respect for others, freedom of belief, human rights and fundamental human freedoms,” it added.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said some European countries, under the false pretext of advocating Freedom of speech, “allow extremist and radical elements to spread hatred against Islamic sanctities and values.”

Kanaani said despite the strong emphasis on human rights in Islam, Europeans continue to “institutionalize anti-Islam sentiment and Islamophobia” in their societies.

Pakistan also condemned the burning of the Holy Quran in Sweden, describing it as a “senseless and provocative Islamophobic act.”

“This senseless and provocative Islamophobic act hurts the religious sensitivities of over 1.5 billion Muslims worldwide,” said the Pakistani Foreign Ministry.

Islamabad urged the international community to show a “common resolve” against Islamophobia, xenophobia, intolerance and incitement to violence based on religion or belief and work together to promote inter-faith harmony and peaceful coexistence.

Morocco said it was “astonished” the authorities had allowed it to take place “in front of the Swedish forces of order.”

  • Everyone Else Burns: this great new British comedy will make you laugh again and again

Everyone Else Burns: this great new British comedy will make you laugh again and again

    [ad_1]

Religions famously enjoy being made fun of. That’s why [very extended paragraph deleted on legal recommendation]! Don’t we? We all do that. But I am having a lot of fun with Everyone Else Burns, the new Channel 4 comedy (Monday, 10pm) that centres on a hyper-religious family in Greater Manchester. There’s a lot to like here – the Sex Education-style 70s-tinged aesthetic, the gloopy storytelling where episodes shrug into one another, a supporting cast of absolute British comedy bangers – but the main thing is: it remembers to be funny. Again and again. And – and I hope you’re ready for a rare balancing act – never punches down at religion. And lo, there was a miracle.

Let’s start with Simon Bird, the family’s bowl-cutted patriarch. As Will in The Inbetweeners and Adam in Friday Night Dinner he was excellent but essentially played the same character, which is “Person who says: ‘What on Earth are you doing?’ whenever someone else does something odd”. Now, he’s the freak: as David, he gets his family up for punishing 2am apocalyptic fire drills, is hated by the church he loves and doesn’t understand why his wife and daughter are drifting away from him. It’s been a while – I’d probably put it around Mark from Peep Show – but one of comedy’s great characters is “Man who is ruining his life by his dedication to diligently following the rules”, and Bird’s David fits neatly into that fine tradition.

The fear with a show like this – where the pitch is: “What if a family were weird?” – is it becomes one-note quite early on: here’s the dad being weird, look; here’s the mum being weird. What if the daughter were normal with a hint of weird? Well, then the son has to be doubly weird. And yes, there is a little of that. But the family’s performances – Amy James-Kelly’s knotted-brow teenage daughter Rachel, slowly pulling away from the idea of a religion that forbids caffeine and TV; youngest son Aaron, who keeps making crayon renderings of gruesome visions of hell, played eerily well by Harry Connor; and the brilliant Kate O’Flynn, who plays the yearning-for-more wife Fiona so well you figure they must have had to rejig the script to give her all the best lines (“David, if you’re going to scream you should do it into a pillow at home, it’s better for the kids”) – tamp down any threat of that. You’ve got two options for a comedy, really: reflect the reality of life in all its painful squirming glory; or invent a weird world and let weirdness reign supreme. Everyone Else Burns lands between the two, and feels bright and original and new as a result.

Simon Bird with Kadiff Kirwan as Andrew in Everyone Else Burns.
Simon Bird with Kadiff Kirwan as Andrew in Everyone Else Burns. Photograph: James Stack/ Channel 4

The supporting cast are another accomplishment: Morgana Robinson as the cheerfully straightforward “That’s a sin, is it?” neighbour; Lolly Adefope as a flatly northern, always vaping teacher; Al Roberts as a sort of Prof Brian Cox/youth pastor hybrid who’s addicted to cola; and I’ve never not enjoyed the wild turmoil Liam Williams brings to the screen. But Kadiff Kirwan is the standout: his beaming nice-guy charm contrasts so perfectly with Bird’s always-ready-to-escalate evangelist.

It would have been easy to bog Everyone Else Burns down with explaining theology then explaining how theology is wrong – but in the episodes I’ve seen religion is, well, not really in it. There are scenes at a nameless denomination of church, and the stringent but abstract scriptures are the motivation behind a lot of David’s more erratic behaviours but, at its heart, Everyone Else Burns is a family comedy that just happens to be flavoured by religion, rather than revolving round it.

If you’ll allow me a semi-bizarre zig into patriotism – I have arranged an RAF flyover to coincide with the exact moment you read this, don’t worry – there’s something oddly stirring about watching a great new British comedy. Everyone Else Burns does everything we’re good at without any syrupy tropes – just crackling dialogue over a soft-sided story that makes sense. Sometimes it’s easy to forget how good we are at this and ignore a new release for whatever glossy thing the streaming giants have put out this week – why yes, I am still annoyed that I watched Glass Onion! Thank you for asking actually! – but to miss Everyone Else Burns is to miss a rare treat.
