  • NTA Announces Admission Through CUET-PG

    SRINAGAR: National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued application forms for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for PG courses for the 2023-24 session. The applications are to be made via online mode only using the official website. Interested candidates can apply between March 20 and April 19, 2023 up to 5 PM.

    The examination fee is to be successfully submitted until 11:50 PM on April 19, 2023. The correction window for the CUET PG- 2023 has been announced between April 20 and April 23, 2023.

    The general category candidates can fill three test papers as per their eligibility and pay a fee of INR 1000. The candidates belonging to OBC-NCL/EWS categories have to pay INR 800 as fees while for the candidates belonging to PwBD, the fees is INR 700. The charges are fixed at INR 750 for ST/SC and Third Gender applicants. Applicants can further fill up to seven test papers as per their eligibility and interest and pay additional charges of INR 500 for general category applicants and INR 400 for candidates belonging to other categories.

    Candidates opting for test centers out of India will have to pay INR 5000 for up to three test papers irrespective of the category they belong to and will have to pay additional charges of INR 1500 for additional subjects.

    The duration of the computer-based test is two hours. The examination will be held in two shifts. Shift 1 is timed 10 AM- 12 PM and the timing for the second shift is 3 PM- 5 PM. The test is a single window to attain admission to any central university or other participating institutions (including private and state universities) across India.

    SRINAGAR: University of the Arts London (UAL), United Kingdom is inviting applications for a fully funded postgraduate scholarship for the year 2023 in Fine Arts, Architecture, Business Administration, Research, and Science.

    Candidates whose annual household income is below 50,000 Euros (44, 48,726 INR) and who have passed their Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institute with a good academic record are eligible to apply.   The documents required for the scholarship include Identification proof, an invitation letter from the university, and a copy of immigration documents.

Documents related to relevant experience are also required to submit. Documentary evidence for annual CTC such as Form 16, pay slips for last 12 months, certificate from employer etc. (in case of candidates from private sector), Last Promotion order, if applicable, Relieving order (in case of experience with more than one organization), Orders of the company where the applicant is working presently clearly indicating executive grades & pay structure of the organization and position of the applicant in the hierarchy for relevant experience, Documentary proof in support of Annual Turnover (Audited Balance Sheet) and listing status (on stock exchange) in case of candidates working in private sector, and Specific evidence showing relevant experience in the form of office orders/ office memorandums/ transfer orders/ work allocation orders/ experience certificate.

    SRINAGAR: Jammu & Kashmir Public Services Commission (JKPSC) has advertised a notification for the hiring of Assistant Professor Vacancies. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply after matching academic eligibility and age as per the prescribed criteria.

    As per notification number 06 – PSC (DR-P) of 2023, dated 01-03-2023, a total of 285 vacancies for the posts of Assistant Professors have been advertised in various disciplines. The notification states that only candidates domiciled in the UT J&K can apply for the vacant posts.

    The eligibility criterions are in accordance with the terms in J&K (Gazette) College Service Recruitment Rules, 2008, and the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (Business and Procedure) Rules, 2021, as amended till date. The academic/professional eligibility requirements are Masters/Doctorate Degree and NET/SLET/SET in the relevant discipline. All interested candidates need to verify their age as per the SSC (10th class Marks sheet). The age limit for Open Merit (OM) and in-service Candidates is set at 40 years while for RBA/ST/SC/ALC/EWS/OSC/PSC candidates it is 43 years and has been set at 42 years for the physically challenged applicants.

    SRINAGAR: The registration process for Schmidt Science Fellowship offered by University of British Columbia, Canada has commenced. The University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada is offering fellowships to all Domestic and International students for the academic year 2023-2024.

    UBC sponsored Schmidt Science Fellowship offers $100,000 stipend to selected applicants. Fellows are also supported to pursue postdoctoral study on full time basis for at least a year in a renowned laboratory in fields that may be different from the pre-existing field of their expertise. Fellows are also given the chance to attend 4 residential global meetings for which a period of 5 weeks is reserved from the fellowship year.

    The fellowship extends to the fields of Computer, Natural Sciences, Engineering and Mathematics. The eligibility criterion for the fellowship established by UBC requires the applicants to have completed their Graduate degree in computing, Engineering, Natural Sciences or PhD before July 30, 2023. The candidates must be available between July 2023 and July 2024 for the program and for global meetings as well.

    A committee is to be convened by the faculty of graduate and Post-doctoral studies to review the nominations submitted by various departments after proper vetting. Up to nine students will be nominated for international competitions by the committee. The application process is likely to end by April, 2023.

    Interested candidates are required to submit their applications including CV (including publications), statement of maximum one page addressing alignment with Schmidt Science fellowship and collaborative spirit, and a proposal of maximum two pages addressing Post Doctoral interests and brief rationale for up to 3 potential post doctoral fellowship laboratories.

    SRINAGAR: The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), under Ministry of External Affairs, is inviting applications for the Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme (ABVGSS). Interested candidates can apply at the authorised ICCR A2A portal to avail the scholarship.

    The applications for the Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme commenced on February 20, 2023 and the last date to apply has been marked at April 30, 2023. Universities have been notified to inform the candidates of their selection before May 31, 2023.
