“I had little information about cutting, but with the cooperation of my family, I went to Delhi, where I learned about fashion designing with the support of the Umeed scheme.”

She said that at an early stage, I was focused on helping myself only. After returning from Delhi, I started working at my boutique and it was in April 2018 that I not only succeeded in making the market but was able to train at least 300 girls at my unit. She said that from 2 machines to 8, her boutique is growing continuously and has completely changed her life and of many others alike.

The successful businesswoman continued, “I am so excited to share that among those trained girls, most have started their own units and are able to survive in much better ways.

In her message to women, she says that we should not be afraid of the people, as rights are equal for both genders, so come out and make your mark.

She said losing hope in not getting a government job is not a solution for living a good life, as one can prove by her dedication and hard work in her business lines’ too.

She stated that it is not only in boutiques that girls can excel, but they should at least come forward. “Life is too short,” she added, “so do something instead of wasting your precious time.” (GNS)

USA: 31-yr-old woman who birthed 13-yr-old’s baby to not be jailed

    [ad_1]

A 31-year-old woman from the US state of Colorado who confessed to having sexual relations with a 13-year-old last year will not go to jail.

The Fountain Police Department charged Andrea Serrano with sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, as well as sexual assault on a minor.

Upon her arrest in 2022, she was charged with sexual assault. Her attorneys, however, reached a plea agreement with prosecutors that requires her to register as a sex offender but keeps her out of jail. According to sources, Andrea Serrano has accepted the contract.

Andrea Serrano was also pregnant with the teen’s child when she was arrested last year and gave birth to a baby boy.

The survivor’s mother, who is now 14, is dissatisfied with the bargain. “My son has been robbed of his childhood, in my opinion. He now has to be a father. He’s a victim, and he’ll have to deal with that for the rest of his life,” KKTV spoke with the mother.

The mother also claims that if the genders in the case were reversed, the accused would face harsher punishment.

“I feel like if she was a man and he was a little girl, it would definitely be different. They would be seeking more. I feel like because he is not a woman, they are not. They are having compassion for her,” said the survivor’s mother to KKTV.

Incest is a class four felony in Colorado, thus it was reduced to a lower charge in this case. According to sources, Andrea Serrano might be sentenced to ten years to life in ‘sex offender intense supervised probation’ by the judge, which will be determined by a hearing in May.

Woman kills self on same night husband commits suicide in Delhi

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: A 32-year-old woman allegedly killed herself on the same night her husband committed suicide at their south Delhi home, police said on Thursday.

The couple has been identified as Ajaypal Singh Orgay (37) and Monika. They lived in Transit Camp Hudco Place, they said.

Ajaypal worked as an operation officer in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation cell.

The police received a PCR call regarding a possible suicide at a flat in Block-3A, Transit Camp Hudco Place, at 2.49 am. The call was made by Ajaypal’s friend Ashish Tiwari, a resident of Mahavir Enclave in Palam.

When the police reached the spot, they found Monika lying unconscious with froth oozing from her mouth. She was taken to Safdarjung Hospital, where she was declared dead, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chowdhary said.

Her neighbours revealed that Ajaypal allegedly committed suicide earlier in the night. He was an operation officer at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation cell near Jor Bagh metro station, Chowdhary said.

Monika had allegedly found Ajaypal in an unconscious state and taken him to a hospital, where he was declared dead. Later, she came home, consumed a poisonous substance and killed herself, the police said.

The couple got married on November 26.

No suicide note was recovered from the house and no foul play is suspected, the police said.

Their neighbours told the police that they used to have frequent arguments.

Ajaypal’s elder brother Yogendrapal said he last spoke to him on Wednesday.

“They used to fight often over petty issues. My brother used to tell me about their fights. I spoke to him around 1 pm on Wednesday when he was in office. He told me that everything was going smoothly.

“I asked him to come home on Holi so that we could talk to them. When I was speaking to him, everything seemed fine and I did not have any idea that he would take such a step,” Yogendrapal said.

BS Ghritlehare, his brother-in-law, said he received a call from Yogendrapal, telling him to reach Delhi.

“I am posted with Chhattisgarh Police and received a call from Yogendrpal about the incident. He lives in Mumbai and asked me to reach Delhi as soon as possible.

“The couple used to have petty fights and I spoke to them several times. Everyone is shocked by them ending their lives,” Ghritlehare said.

Monika’s brother said, “We were at home in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) when we got to know about the incident. We reached Delhi in the morning.

“She was my younger sister. Everything was going fine before this. Had we got any intimation about any issue, we would have immediately come.”

  • Hyderabad: Zambian woman suffering from rare tumour operated at KIMS

Hyderabad: Zambian woman suffering from rare tumour operated at KIMS

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: A middle-aged woman from Zambia, who was suffering from a very rare type of tumour called Paraganglioma, has been successfully operated upon at KIMS Hospital in Hyderabad.

Dr. Ramya Valiveru, an endocrine surgeon from KIMS Kondapur, successfully treated the patient by performing a complex surgery.

According to her, the occurrence rate of that Paraganglioma tumour is only two in one million population.

The doctor said, the patient was referred with primary complaints of severe fluctuating hypertension and uncontrolled giddiness. The government of Zambia referred her to the Endocrine Surgery department of KIMS Hospital Kondapur.

The patient had been suffering from severe recurrent headaches, episodes of anxiety, palpitations, and increased sweating for more than five years. She was evaluated in Zambia and was found to have a large 8.5×7.5 cm tumour in her abdomen.

“The tumour is a very rare type that was found to produce very high amounts of a hormone called noradrenaline. Also, the location of the tumour was in a critical zone, behind the large important vessels like Inferior Vena Cava and Aorta.

The blood vessels (veins) to both kidneys were travelling on the front of the tumour, the right kidney artery was travelling behind the tumour. All vessels were closely abutting the tumour,” explained Dr Ramya.

When the patient came to KIMS, she was noticed to have uncontrolled hypertension. She underwent extensive evaluation and optimal preparation for surgery. “Pre-operative preparation in such cases is the key to successful surgery.

Her endocrine control, hypertension control, and optimization were successfully done with alpha and beta blockade by Dr. Krishna Reddy, Consultant Endocrinology. Intra-operative fluctuations of BP and heart rate management is very challenging in this case.

According to Dr Ramya, surgery for Paragangliomas is different from the removal of other tumours. “The tumour can release hormones in a large quantity when touched, and cause a heavy load on the heart.

So, we had to perform the surgery so meticulously, and carefully handle the tumour, without damaging the kidneys and the great vessels.

The experienced team of anesthetists headed by Dr. Veera Bhadra Rao managed the patient during the surgery and the Postoperative Intensive care stay,” she said.

The patient had a smooth recovery in the post-operative period and has been discharged in stable condition.
