Kolkata man held for murdering wife, burying body after cutting it into three pieces

    [ad_1]

Kolkata: A near replication of the murder of Shraddha Walker and disposal of her body in Delhi’s Mehrauli area last year surfaced on the outskirts of Kolkata on Wednesday evening, where a man was held for murdering his wife and burying her corpse near a waterbody after cutting it into three pieces.

The pieces of the body were recovered from Sarada Garden area under Bishnupur Police Station in the southern outskirts of Kolkata.

The accused Alim Sheikh has been taken into custody for the murder of his wife Mumtaz Sheikh and the body parts have been sent to a local hospital for autopsy purposes.

Local police sources said that on Tuesday night, Sheikh went on his motorcycle to pick up Mumtaz from her workplace. However, he returned alone and when asked by his family members, said that she had got down near a local market for shopping.

However, after she did not return till late hours, his family members started putting pressure on him to speak the truth. However, as he remained silent, his family members informed the local police station and in face of police pressure, Sheikh, on Wednesday morning, admitted his crime.

The police rushed to the spot along with Alim, who showed them the exact spot where he buried his wife’s body parts. Local police sources said that first he took her to an extremely secluded place and killed her there by strangulation. After that he cut her body into three pieces and buried the body parts under the mud adjacent to the waterbody.

The accused is yet to confide the reason behind taking such a ghastly step. However, according to information collected by the local police, in all probability an extra-marital affair issue was behind the macabre incident. The police are carrying out further investigation.

  • Man sues wife for marrying lover after Rs 2.9 cr lottery win

Man sues wife for marrying lover after Rs 2.9 cr lottery win

    [ad_1]

A Thai man was stunned to learn that his wife had won a lottery jackpot of 12 million baht (Rs 2.9 crore) and then married another man.

According to a report by Thaiger, on March 11, a 47-year-old man called Narin filed a complaint against his wife. The man married the accused 20 years ago and the couple had three kids.

According to the report, Narin was facing a debt of over 2 million baht and planned to relocate to South Korea in 2014 in order to repay the bill.

Although his wife, Chaweewan, returned to Thailand to care for their children, the guy continued to work in South Korea and transferred around 27,000 to 30,000 baht each month to his family.

The man afterward discovered that his wife had won a Rs 2.9 crore lottery but had concealed the fact from him. As the accused refused to return phone calls, the guy decided to fly to Thailand on March 3. When he arrived in Thailand, he discovered she had married a police officer on February 25.

“I was shocked and did not know what to do. I am disappointed. I did not expect that my wife of 20 years would do this to me. I only had 60,000 baht left in my bank account because I gave money to her every month. I want to call out for justice and the money that I deserve,” he said.

Chaweewan, on the other hand, stated that she split up with Narin several years before winning the lottery and marrying her boyfriend.

The man stated that he was unaware of the separation. The situation is currently being investigated by police officers and other authorities.

  • Kuwait considers granting expat wife citizenship after 18 years

Kuwait considers granting expat wife citizenship after 18 years

    [ad_1]

Kuwait: Kuwait is considering granting the citizenship to expat wife of a Kuwaiti after 18 years of marriage, local media reported.

In this regard, the government of Kuwait submitted a draft law amending Article 8 of Amiri Decree No. 15/1959.

Under the proposed amendments, an ex-pat woman who married a Kuwaiti man will not automatically become a Kuwaiti citizen unless she declares her desire to do so to the minister of the interior and maintains legal residency in Kuwait for a period of 18 years from the date of marriage.

The minister of interior may also prevent her from obtaining Kuwaiti nationality if he deems it necessary.

As per a report by Arab Times, if a woman’s marriage ends due to death or divorce and she has a son or children, she can declare her desire to acquire Kuwaiti nationality, provided she has maintained her legal and normal residence in Kuwait and takes care of her children until one of them reaches the age of 10.

The amendments also state that the minister of interior can grant a expat woman, the wife of a Kuwaiti, the treatment of a Kuwaiti individual after she has announced her desire and the marriage for a period of three years maintained.

According to the Arabic daily Al Rai, the draft law aims to address concerns that the current provision allows expat women married to Kuwaiti nationals to acquire Kuwaiti citizenship only after five years of marriage without having children.

This led to expat women obtaining Kuwaiti nationality and then divorcing them from their Kuwaiti husbands without any ties to Kuwait.

The proposed amendments aim to address this issue by extending the period to 18 years and requiring proof of loyalty and integration into Kuwaiti society.

  • Farmhouse owner’s wife alleges husband’s role in Satish Kaushik’s death

Farmhouse owner’s wife alleges husband’s role in Satish Kaushik’s death

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: In connection with the veteran actor Satish Kaushik’s death, the owner of the farmhouse Vikas Malu’s second wife has levelled serious accusations against her husband, claiming his role in the death of the actor.

Vikas Malu’s second wife has also complained to the police in the matter, after which the Delhi Police has initiated an inquiry into the allegations.

Delhi Police told ANI in a statement, “In actor Satish Kaushik’s death case, an inquiry has been initiated into allegations of foul play levelled by a woman (wife of one Vikas Malu). An inspector-level officer from the South West district has been asked to probe the entire matter. The woman will be called by police to record her statement.”

Talking to ANI, Vikas Malu’s wife said, “I have got a complaint registered in connection with Satish Ji’s death. He had come to my husband’s farmhouse for a party, where his health deteriorated. Some objectionable medicines have also been found from the farmhouse.”

She alleged that Satish Kaushik and Vikas Malu had business links and there was a monetary dispute between the two.

“Satish Ji and my husband had business connections as well. In August 2022, an argument broke out between Satish Ji and my husband, where Satish ji demanded Rs 15 crores that he had earlier given to him. But, my husband said that he will give the money in India.”

She further alleged, “When I later asked from him about the money, my husband said that he borrowed the money from Satish ji, but the money went for loss during the Covid period. My husband was not in the mood to return the money, he even said that he will use blue pills and Russian girls to do away with Satish Kaushik. That’s why I have brought this angle to the police for fair investigation”.

On being asked about her earlier complaints against Vikas Malu, she alleged that Vikas as well as his son “raped” her after which she left his house.

“I have earlier registered a complaint against Vikas Malu. Firstly, Vikas raped me, and then forcefully got married to me. After marriage, even his son started raping me. This was completely unbearable for me, and I left his house in October 2022,” she said.

It is pertinent to note that the minor son of Vikas Malu’s first wife had also lodged an FIR against Vikas Malu’s second wife under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act. The video is also with the police, the police said.

After receiving complaints from both sides, the police registered FIRs against both parties but did not arrest them.

Vikas Malu’s second wife further alleged that her husband has connections to the underworld including the likes of Dawood Ibrahim.

“I have images of several people who used to visit our house regularly. Vikas himself told me that Anas, who used to come to our house, is Dawood Ibrahim’s son. Mustafa, another person who regularly came to our house, is also Dawood Ibrahim’s right-hand man,” she further added.

The matter pertains to the death of veteran actor, Satish Kaushik who died on March 9 allegedly due to cardiac arrest

Satish Kaushik celebrated Holi with his friends, and danced, after which he went to sleep at around 9:30 pm and at around 12 am his health deteriorated. He called the manager and told him that he was having difficulty in breathing. His manager took him to Fortis Hospital in Gurugram where he died at 1.43 am despite being given Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

The Delhi Police said that it is examining seven hours of CCTV footage at the farmhouse in Delhi where the actor celebrated Holi.

The police also said that the detailed post-mortem report of Kaushik confirms that the death was a “natural” one and occurred due to ‘cardiac arrest’.

According to the post-mortem report, the cause of death was cardiac arrest due to coronary artery blockage which is associated with coronary artery diseases. Death appears to be natural in manner. The viscera have been preserved and photography, videography has been done, the police said.

Satish Kaushik had a medical history of hypertension and sugar, the police said.

Days after the demise of the 66-year-old veteran actor, a crime team of Delhi’s South-West district police visited the farmhouse, where the deceased actor was staying, sources said on Saturday.

As per sources, the probing team recovered some ‘medicines’ from the farmhouse. The medicines have been sent for examination and the report is yet to come. Although, no banned medicine has been found, however, it is being ascertained which salts were found in the medicine.

Further investigation is underway in the case.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui confirms his ‘divorce’ with wife Aaliya

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: The legal tussle between Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his estranged wife Aaliya Siddiqui has been going on for the past couple of months. Aaliya has accused her husband of assaulting her and even charged him for with rape. Recently, she accused Nawazuddin of throwing her and their children out of the bungalow and shared a video on her Instagram account regarding it.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui has maintained silence in the matter amid allegations levelled against him by his wife. His spokesperson clarified why his wife was barred from entering the bungalow but it seems that the Badlapur actor was not satisfied and he now himself opened up about the whole matter on social media.

Taking to Instagram, Nawazuddin Siddiqui shared a three-page carousel post, explaining his side of the story. He shared all the details of his relationship with Aaliya Siddiqui and the children. The actor captioned the post, “This is not an allegation but expressing my side of the story.” In the post, he mentioned that he has been termed as the ‘bad guy’ and he also said that ‘social media platforms, press and a bunch of people’ are enjoying his character assassination. He added that he remained silent for the sake of his children.

In the statement issued on Instagram, the actor wrote, ”First of all me and Aaliya do not stay together since several years, we are already divorced but we definitely had an understanding only for our kids. Does anyone know, why my kids are in India and not attending school for 45 days, wherein the school is sending me letters everyday that it’s been too long an absence. My kids have been made hostage for past 45 days & are missing their schooling in Dubai.”

In the next page, he levelled more allegations against his wife. He added, “She had abandoned the kids in Dubai for last 4 months before calling them here on pretext of demanding money. On an average, she is been paid approx 10 Lakhs per month for past 2 years and 5-7 lakhs per month before moving to Dubai with my children, excluding the school fees, medical, travel and other leisure activities.”

He further added, ” I have also financed her 3 films costing me crores of rupees, just to help her set up her income stream, since she is the mother of my kids. She was given luxurious cars for my kids, but she sold them and spent the money on herself. I have also bought a lavish sea facing apartment in Versova, Mumbai for my children. Aaliya was made the co- owner of the said apartment as my kids are small. I have given my children an apartment in Dubai, where she was also living comfortably. She only wants more money and hence have filed numerous cases on me and mother & it’s her routine, she has done the same in the past too and my withdraws the case when paid as per her demand.”

Accusing his wife of dragging their children into the fight between the couple, he added, “Whenever children came to India during their vacation, they used to stay with their grandmother only. How could anyone throw them out of the house. I myself was not in the house during that time. Why didn’t she make a video of being thrown out, whereas she makes video of every random thing. She has dragged the kids in this drama and she is doing all this to simply blackmail me, malign my reputation, her intent to spoil my career and fulfil her illegitimate demands.”

In the last page, ”the actor said that every parent on the planet does their best to help make a secure future for their children. He wrote, ” Last but the not the least- Any parent on this planet will never want their kids to miss out on their studies or hamper their future, they will always try to give them best of the possible things. Whatever I am earning today is all for both my kids and no person can change this.”

Expressing his love towards his children, he further wrote, ” I love Shora & Yani and I will go to any extent to secure their well-being and their future.I will continue to place my faith in the judiciary.”

” Love is not hold one back , but to let one fly in the right direction, ” he concluded.
