  • Traffic Police Cracks Down On Minor Driving With Intensified Two Wheeler Document Checks

    SRINAGAR: Traffic police authorities are conducting random document checks of two-wheelers here “to curb driving by minors”.

    A senior traffic official said that the drive is an ongoing process of enforcement, but this time its primary purpose is to curb minor driving. “Many two-wheelers were seized for various traffic violations as they were found riding without full documents, while many were without a driving license,” the official said.

    He said they have directions from higher-ups to make frequent random document checks for two-wheelers and other vehicles.

    The official also said that they are identifying more two-wheeler riders involved in stunt biking and are calling them, along with their parents, for counseling. “The main purpose of the drive is to curb negligent and rash driving by minors; on a daily basis, many two-wheelers and other vehicles are seized for driving by either minors or other traffic rule violations,” he said.

    Recently, Srinagar city witnessed an upsurge in stunt biking, after which the city traffic police authorities started identifying them through social media handles.

    According to the traffic police authorities, primarily youths from other districts of the valley were found involved in stunt biking, with some youths coming to Srinagar from as far as the extreme north of Kashmir to do bike stunts. (KNO)

    New Delhi: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra has alleged that industrialist Gautam Adani tried to “get to me” and some other people through his “wheeler dealers” and criticised NCP leader Sharad Pawar for meeting the Gujarat-based businessman.

    No politician should engage with Adani till government takes on charges levelled against him, she said.

    Without taking Pawar’s name, Moitra said she hoped the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar puts the country first and not his old relationships.

    “Adani tried utmost to get to me & few others through his friends/ wheeler dealers. He couldn’t even find the door, let alone get past it. I have nothing to discuss on 1:1 basis with Adani. I firmly believe till govt takes action no politician should engage with this man,” she said in a tweet.

    Moitra, who has been one of the the harshest critics of the Adani group, also tweaked a Hindi idiom to sharpen her attack — “Adani hamaam mein to saare hi nange hai”, which roughly means everyone being in the same boat as far as Adani is concerned.

    “I have no fear in taking on Great Marathas. Can only hope they have good sense to put country before old relationships.

    “And no, my tweet is not anti-opposition unity. Rather it is pro-public interest,” she said.

    Industrialist Gautam Adani met Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar on Thursday morning at the politician’s residence, Silver Oak, in South Mumbai.

    Purpose:

    For purchase of new Two-Wheelers i.e. Scooters, Motor Cycles, Scooties, Battery-Operated Scooters, etc. of any make and model.

    Eligibility:

    1. Employees of Government / Semi-Government Undertakings, Autonomous bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, Private Companies or Reputed Establishments, Professionals or self-employed individuals/ Businessmen, etc.
    2. Pensioners, drawing their monthly pension from our Bank or other Banks whose spouse is alive and is eligible for family pension. The spouse shall stand as guarantor.
    3. Minimum age of applicant: 18 years.
    4. Students, aged 18 years & above, with Father or Mother or Spouse as co-borrower.
    5. Maximum age of applicant at loan maturity: Age of Retirement for salaried individuals & 65 years for others.
    6. Minimum employment: The applicant must have been in current employment for a period not less than 1 year or must have a business standing of at least 2 years.
    7. The borrower should have a valid driving license.
    8. Minimum Net Annual Income of Rs.1.00 lac.

    Amount of Loan:

    1. 12 times net monthly salary/ income or 75% of the ex-showroom price of two wheeler or Rs. 1.00 lac ((Rs.2.00 lac for motorcycles only), whichever is less.
    2. In case of girl students/ working ladies, the maximum finance shall be available up to 85% of the ex-showroom price of scooties within the above prescribed limits.
    3. In case the requirement is more than the maximum finance amount, the borrower must bring that amount as additional margin.
    4. The net monthly home take income/ salary of the borrowers after including the installment amount on this loan should not be less than 40% of the gross monthly income/ salary.
    5. In case of students who are either still studying/ don’t have regular or documented source of income, the finance shall be provided in their name with parent/ Guardian/ Spouse as co-borrower and the 40% net home take salary principle shall apply to co-borrowers.

     

    Margin:

    1. 25% of invoice value
    2. 15% of invoice value (for girl students/ working ladies for purchase of scooties only).

    Security:

    1. Primary: Hypothecation of two-wheeler to be purchased.
    2. Collateral: Third party guarantee of one person of sound net means/ income to withstand the liability.

    Repayment:

    Maximum of 60 months. However, a borrower can opt for any tenure within the maximum ceiling.

    Processing charges:

    0.50% of the loan amount.

    (NIL for girl students/ working ladies for purchase of scooties only).
