In a video that has now gone viral, a family belonging to the Scheduled Caste community was assaulted for playing DJ during a wedding function in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the report, the family was celebrating a wedding. They were playing DJ when a group of men attacked the party. The men carried weapons and severely injured the Scheduled Caste family.
Two people – Awadhesh alias Willi and Rohit Goud – were arrested by the police on Monday. They have been booked under sections 147(rioting) 148 (Rioting, armed with a deadly weapon) 149 (guilty of an offence committed in prosecution of common object), 323(Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 406 (Punishment for criminal breach of trust), 307(Attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Reportedly, SRK charged Rs 3 crore to perform at business tycoon Lakshmi Mittal’s daughter Vanisha Mittal’s lavish wedding in Paris back in 2004. The wedding, which cost a staggering Rs 240 crore, was hosted in the romantic city of Paris and attracted a number of high-profile guests. Apart from SRK, other Bollywood celebrities who performed at the wedding were Juhi Chawla, Rani Mukherjee, Saif Ali Khan and Aishwarya Rai.
According to multiple reports, even today Shah Rukh Khan charges Rs. 3-4 crores to perform at a wedding. However, it is also reported that SRK avoids performing at weddings of those he does not know and only does so on special requests.

Video: Woman collapses while dancing at wedding in Telangana

Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a woman collapsed and died during a wedding procession in Allipuram of Khammam district, Telangana, turning the joy of celebrations into mourning.
Later, the doctors confirmed that the woman Rani died due to a brain stroke while dancing to the music played by the DJ at the wedding in Telangana.
Unfortunately, Rani is not the only victim of such incidents that occurred in recent times. In a similar case, a teenager died of cardiac arrest while dancing at a reception in Pardi (K) village, Kubheer Mandal. Despite being rushed to a hospital, he could not be saved.

In yet another incident, an 18-year-old first-year engineering student at CMR Engineering College collapsed due to a cardiac arrest while walking in the corridor on the campus. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he too could not survive.
Earlier, in a separate incident, a young person collapsed while playing badminton and never recovered.
In the most recent incident of cardiac arrest, a man succumbed just moments after stepping out of his house. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, showing how quickly a cardiac arrest can strike without warning.
These incidents show how dangerous cardiac arrest can be, and that it can happen to anyone, at any age.

Lawyer daughter appears as counsel for mother, gets parole for father to attend her wedding

Kochi: The Kerala High Court, after giving compassionate hearing to a petition, filed by the wife of one of Kerala’s dreaded criminals ‘Ripper’ Jayanandan and argued by his lawyer daughter, granted permission to him to attend her wedding.
Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas gave the orders after hearing the petition of Indira whose counsel was her daughter Keerthi Jayanandan.
Though the petitioner sought 15 days parole, the court ruled out that but took a compassionate approach when counsel said she is not asking this as a lawyer but as a daughter seeking the presence of her father for her wedding.
Going through the points of fundamental rights and previous rulings, the judge said even though Jayanandan’s previous record is not good as he tries to escape at every given chance, taking into account the basic rights, he can attend the wedding of his daughter.
The court then said the convict can reach his house in Thrissur on March 21 and can be there from 9 a.m till 5 p.m, after which he will have to return to the prison.
On the day of the wedding at Thrissur, on March 22, he can be present there from 9 a.m to 5 p.m , after which he will return to the prison.
The court also ruled that the accompanying police and security personnel should be in plain clothes and shall not interfere with the functions related to the wedding unless circumstances warrant.
It also asked the petitioner and one of her daughters to file an affidavit before the Thrissur Sessions Court that they undertake to ensure his return to the jail as directed.

Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas is the son of former Supreme Court judge K.T.Thomas.
‘Ripper’ Jayanandan, 56, who was accused in seven murder cases, was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole in one case, while in another murder case, he was given a death sentence, but the High Court commuted it to life imprisonment on his appeal.
He fled once from the Trivandrum Central Jail in June 2013, but in September 2013 he was caught and before that also, he was caught after escaping from the Kannur Jail.

Groom, family walk 28 km for wedding due to drivers’ strike in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: A groom and his family members had to walk 28 kilometres to reach the bride’s village in Odisha’s Rayagada district for the wedding, as they could not arrange a vehicle due to the drivers’ strike.
They walked all night on Thursday from Sunakhandi panchayat under Kalyansinghpur block to reach Dibalapadu village where they tied the knot on Friday.
A video showing the groom and his family members including a few women walking at night went viral on social media.
“No transport was available due to the drivers’ strike. We walked all night to reach the village. We had no other option,” one of the groom’s family members said.
The marriage was solemnised on Friday morning. But the groom and his family members stayed at the bride’s house, waiting for the drivers’ association to withdraw the strike so that they can return home.
The Driver Ekta Mahasangh has launched the indefinite strike across the state from Wednesday demanding social welfare measures like insurance, pension, formation of a welfare board and others.
The strike by the drivers of commercial vehicles in Odisha was on Friday put on hold for 90 days following an assurance by the state government that all their demands would be fulfilled.
The announcement by the Drivers’ Ekta Mahasangh came barely a few hours after Chief Secretary P K Jena and DGP S K Bansak appealed to the striking drivers to withdraw the stir.

The strike by over two lakh drivers has hit the normal life for which people including office goers and tourists remained standard at different places. This has also resulted in price rise of essential commodities.

Wedding called off as bride’s face reacts adversely to the makeup

Hyderabad: Soon-to-be-groom called off the wedding after he learned that the bride’s face turned disastrous following a trip to the beauty parlour.
The incident was reported in Arsikere village of Karnataka’s Hassan district where a to-be bride wanted a makeover ahead of her wedding.
She took a trip to the beauty parlour and tried an innovative method of taking a steam post application of foundation on the face. After the makeover, her face turned black and upon witnessing her condition, the groom called off the wedding.
The police received a complaint from the bride’s family against Ganga, the beauty parlour owner who is under investigation.

Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Manchu Manoj is all set to tie the knot for the second time with his ladylove Bhuma Mounika in an intimate ceremony at Lakshmi Manchu’s Hyderabad home at 8:30 p.m. tonight. The wedding is expected to be attended by close family members only. The couple’s wedding festivities reportedly began yesterday with a haldi ceremony and a sangeet party at Lakshmi Manchu’s house.

Karachi: Pakistani actor Ushna Shah tied the knot with golf player Hamza Amin on Sunday in front of friends and family members. Her ‘Indian bridal’ look in a vibrant red lehenga and other celebrations at her wedding have become hot topic of discussion among social media users.
Netizens are trolling her for choosing Indian style outfits. One user commented, “7 phearey b le liye hon ge haina.”

She responded sharply to the haters who criticised her wedding outfit. Ushna also accused a fashion blogger for leaking her wedding pictures on the internet. She said that the fashion blogger shared the photos with local media portals without her permission. Reacting to the trolls, Ushna Shah took to Instagram stories to call out a fashion blogger for violating the terms clearly stated in her wedding invitation.
She wrote, “Not only did he bring a plus one, he brought a photographer without permission, lied to my family that I had allowed this. That photographer then sent exclusive unapproved photos to various portals.” Ushna further wrote, “He (the photographer) also brought a drone, which he snuck to our private nikkah enclosure on the water and recorded our signing, which left me in tears afterward.”
She further shared another note which reads, “The drone was hovering loudly next to my head during my signing, I had to shoo it away. I had a sick feeling in my stomach wondering who it was. Does any bride deserve this? Whether my dress looked Indian to people or even Mongolian, does any human being deserve this? Our nikkah enclosure allowed 15 people, family only. I am dizzy with disgust that this man would stoop so low… If I have any legal standing to do something about this, I will. I feel absolutely violated.”
Ushna shared the invitation card in which it is categorically mentioned that sharing videos and photos from the wedding ceremony is strictly prohibited.
