JK Braces For Dry Spell Till Weekend, Wet Weather To Follow Until April 20

SRINAGAR: Mainly dry weather is expected to continue in Jammu and Kashmir till April 15 even as the minimum temperature recorded an increase at most places on Thursday, officials said.
A meteorological department official here said that from April 16-17, generally cloudy weather with intermittent light rain and thunderstorm or lightning scattered to fairly widespread places was expected in J&K.
From April 18-19, he said, the weather is likely to be generally cloudy with intermittent light to moderate rain (light snow over higher reaches)/thunderstorm/lightning at fairly widespread places in Kashmir division and a few places in Jammu division.
From April 20-21st, he said, generally, cloudy weather with intermittent Light rain, thunderstorm, or lightning at a few places was expected. “From April 22-25, weather is likely to be mainly dry weather.”
Regarding the temperature, the MeT official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 7.2°C against 7.4°C on the previous night and it was 0.4°C below normal for the summer capital.
Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of 6.0°C against 4.4°C on the previous night and it was 0.5°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir.
Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of 3.2°C against 2.5°C on the previous night and it was 0.4°C above normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Kokernag recorded a low of 9.1°C against 7.5°C on the previous night and it was 3.0°C above normal for the place, the officials said.

Gulmarg recorded a low of 4.4°C against 3.6°C on the previous night and it was 2.9°C above normal for the world-famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, he said.
In Kupwara town, he said, the mercury settled at 6.2°C against 5.8°C on the previous night and it was 0.1°C below normal for the north Kashmir area.
Jammu recorded a low of 18.8°C against 17.9°C on the previous night. It was 0.4°C below normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said.
Banihal, he said, recorded a low of 8.3°C (below normal by 0.1°C), Batote 12.8°C (above normal by 2.3°C), Katra 18.0°C (1.5°C above normal), and Bhaderwah 8.7°C (1.7°C below normal). Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil recorded a low of minus 0.8°C and 3.1°C respectively, he added.

Weather Likely To Remain Dry Till April 15 In JK

SRINAGAR: No significant change in weather is expected and it is likely to be mainly dry, the meteorological department said even as the minimum temperature recorded an increase at most places in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
“Mainly dry weather is expected during the next 24 hours,” a meteorological department official said, adding, “no significant change is expected and it is likely to be mainly dry for subsequent two days.”
Regarding the temperature, the MeT official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 7.4°C against 7.1°C on the previous night and it was 0.2°C below normal for the summer capital.
Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of 4.4°C against 4.8°C on the previous night and it was 2.1°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir.
Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of 2.5°C against 3.0°C on the previous night and it was 0.3°C above normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Kokernag recorded a low of 7.5°C against 7.7°C on the previous night and it was 1.4°C above normal for the place, the officials said.
Gulmarg recorded a low of 3.6°C against 3.5°C on the previous night and it was 2.1°C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, he said.
In Kupwara town, he said, the mercury settled at 5.8°C against 5.2°C on the previous night and it was 0.5°C below normal for the north Kashmir area.

Jammu recorded a low of 17.9°C against 17.4°C on the previous night. It was 1.3°C below normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said.
Banihal, he said, recorded a low of 6.9°C (below normal by 1.3°C), Batote 12.0°C (above normal by 1.5°C), Katra 16.7°C (0.2°C below normal) and Bhadarwah 7.7°C (0.7°C below normal). Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil recorded a low of minus 1.8°C and 1.4°C respectively, he added. (GNS)

Quoting a meteorological department official, GNS reported that no large change was expected in the weather and it was expected to be mainly dry till April 16. Generally cloudy sky with possibility of light rain was likely for three days thereafter, he said.

Hyderabad: No more rains, twin cities to face hot weather ahead

Hyderabad: The sudden change in weather due to unseasonal rains in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad in the last few days has brought great relief to the citizens, but the city is likely to feel the heat of summer next week.
After the rise in temperature in Hyderabad, the temperature in the city had crossed 40 degrees last week, but due to sudden unseasonal rains, the temperature recorded a drop, due to which the citizens got a lot of relief, but now according to the Meteorological Department, from April 10, the intensity of heat will increase in most districts and twin cities of Telangana from April 10. And this week the weather will be dry.
Private weather experts predicted that there will be an overall dry spell next week, due to which the city of Hyderabad and other districts will record an increase in temperature. Private meteorologists claimed that overall the weather will be dry, but light rains are likely to be recorded from April 11 onwards and may continue during the current week.

According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, night temperatures, too, would soar to 23 degrees Celsius.
Although some districts including Nizamabad, Nirmal, Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Jagtial and Mancherial are expected to receive very light to light rains for the next three days, the maximum temperatures would soar across all districts.
Following the recent rainfall, thunderstorms, and hailstorm, the maximum and minimum temperatures in all districts of Telangana, including Hyderabad, have dipped significantly. The maximum temperatures in Telangana districts decreased from 2.8-5.8 degrees Celsius from the normal temperature.
