Tripura: BJP leaders thrash Hindu vlogger for posting Eid greeting

A 23-year-old vlogger Bapan Nandi in Tripura was assaulted by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders for posting Eid greeting in a video.
Nandi said he was trying to promote communal harmony.
As the video went viral, BJP leader Anu Mura Singh and a few Hindutva politicians were irked with Nandi’s four-minute video.

NewsClick reported that the BJP leaders allegedly took the matter to the Police Line Bazaar area and filed a complaint against the vlogger. Following this, the police called Nandi for interrogation.
Meanwhile, Mura Singh and a few Hindutva leaders attacked Nandi. One of them recorded the assault and posted it on social media.
Subsequently, the video went viral.
In the video, a female BJP leader can be seen grabbing Nandi by his collar and thrashing him. She was also questioning why Nandi had portrayed himself “as a Muslim and demeaned Hindus.”
He should have stuck with his “Hindu origins proudly,” she added.

Nandi could be seen begging for mercy while he was being thrashed by the group, according to NewsClick.
“The Deputy Chief of East Gokul Nagar Panchayat called me and asked if I can visit his place. As I knew him I reached there and found about 40 men were waiting for me,” EastMojo quoted Nandi.
“The Panchayat leader slapped me and thrashed me in front of everyone. I kept asking what was my fault? Nandi informed him that the video was produced by another channel and the casting was done by him.
“No one was interested in listening to me,” he added.
It is reported that the police have registered the case on orders of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) leaders.
Nandi claimed that he made the video for communal harmony. The video asked people not to get divided into communal lines and to celebrate the festival of Eid in harmony.
Two artists who acted in the Eid video, Uma Debnath and Sneha Bhowmik issued statements saying they never thought that the video will be so problematic or that it would any ruckus.
The artists and several other people have condemned the beating of Nandi and extended support to him.

Rajasthan: Man flashes genitals at South Korean vlogger, held

Jodhpur: A man was arrested for allegedly flashing his genitals at a South Korean vlogger while she was visiting a tourist place here, police said on Tuesday.
The woman recorded the act on her mobile phone and posted it on social media.
Just came across this video of a Korean vlogger who posted a video of her being sexually harassed in Jodhpur. This is extremely disgusting and shameful. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jodhpur East, Amrita Duhan said police took suo moto action on seeing the video of the harassment of the foreign national.

A case was registered under section 151 (arrest to prevent the commission of cognisable offences) of CrPC and the accused was arrested on Monday, she said, adding during medical examination, the man was found mentally unsound.
Station House Officer (SHO), Sadar Kotwali, Dinesh Lakhawat said that the alleged incident took place Monday morning when the woman was returning from Pachetia Hill through stairs.
The accused was roaming around the area and on seeing the woman began following her, the police officer said.
In the video, the man can be seen flashing his genitals at the vlogger and chasing her.
After the video surfaced online, Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) wrote a letter to Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot requesting to file a criminal complaint against the man for allegedly sexually harassing the vlogger at a fort in Jodhour.

The DCW has learnt that a Korean vlogger was harassed by a man in a fort in Jodhpur. The girl was walking in the fort when a man allegedly followed her, exposed his private parts, and engaged in lewd behaviour, a statement said.
The girl ran, screamed, and appealed for help. The entire incident was captured in a video and has been widely circulated on social media, it said.
“This incident is not only a grave violation of the girl’s rights but has also brought shame to our country, as it raises serious questions about the safety and security of women, both domestic and foreign nationals, in our society. As a nation, we cannot allow such acts of harassment and violence to occur and must take prompt and effective measures to ensure justice for the girl and prevent such incidents in the future,” Maliwal said in the statement.

DCW chief writes to Raj CM over harassment of Korean vlogger in Jodhpur

New Delhi: Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal on Tuesday wrote a letter to Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, a day after a Korean vlogger was allegedly harassed in Jodhpur while she was strolling on the streets of the city.
The DCW sought Gehlot’s urgent intervention and prompt action in the matter to ensure justice for the girl, who is a foreign national.
“Through this letter, I wish to bring to your kind attention towards a distressing incident of sexual harassment with a Korean vlogger in Jodhpur. As the Chairperson of the DCW, I am deeply disturbed by this heinous crime and seek your urgent intervention in the matter,” Maliwal wrote in her letter.

“The Commission has learnt that a Korean vlogger was harassed by a man in a fort in Jodhpur. The girl was walking in the fort when a man allegedly followed her, exposed his private parts, and engaged in lewd behaviour. The girl ran, screamed, and appealed for help. “I strongly condemn such an act of sexual harassment and urge you to take immediate action against the perpetrator. I request you to ensure that a criminal complaint is filed against the man involved in this heinous act and that he is promptly arrested and brought to justice. I also urge you to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of the survivor,” she said in her letter.
“I look forward to prompt action in the matter by your office in ensuring justice for the girl and taking effective measures to prevent such incidents in the future,” the letter further stated.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Police said that after taking cognizance of the incident, they have detained the accused.

J&K’s vlogger travels more than 700 kilometres in two days by just taking lift – The Chenab Times

A vlogger from Jammu and Kashmir’s Thathri town in Doda district took a challenge from his subscriber to travel to Dehradun by just taking a lift.

As per details available with The Chenab Times, Nasir Butt, 21, known as “Crazy Vlogger JK” on YouTube, took the challenge from one of his subscribers to reach Dehradun in Uttrakhand to meet Anurag Dobhal (UK07 Rider), a popular YouTuber from Dehradun.
Butt covered more than 700 kilometres of distance in just two days and reached Dehradun, according to videos uploaded by him on his YouTube channel, “Crazy Vlogger JK.”

Butt, who hails from Chenab valley’s Thathri town in Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir, is making videos of different challenges on YouTube. Despite having less family support, he worked on his videos and is currently travelling across India by just taking a lift.
