Bhiwani murder case: VHP, Bajrang Dal seek ‘fair probe’

    [ad_1]

Gurugram: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal on Saturday submitted a memorandum to the President through the Gurugram district administration, seeking a CBI probe into the death of two Muslim men from Rajasthan whose bodies were found at a car in Haryana’s Bhiwani district.

The memorandum was accepted by ‘Naib Tehsildar’ Sushil Kumar.

“We demand a fair probe into the matter. Those named in the FIR are associated with the Bajrang Dal but whether they were involved in the crime or not is yet to be known. We also condemn the incident as extremely unfortunate and stringent action needs to be taken against those who are guilty,” Kulbhushan Bhardwaj, an advocate, said.

Criticising the Rajasthan Police, he said the name of Bajrang Dal was being dragged into the case due to “political bias”.

“The accused must be punished after ‘a fair investigation’ into the case. Two state police are involved in the case, so the matter should be investigated by an independent agency. Till the completion of the probe, no one should be nabbed,” Devender Singh, a member of VHP, said.

  • VHP slams Jamiat’s Arshad Madani over his ‘Manu worshipped Allah’ remark

VHP slams Jamiat’s Arshad Madani over his ‘Manu worshipped Allah’ remark

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: The VHP on Sunday hit out at Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Arshad Madani over his claim that “Om” and “Allah” were the same God worshipped by ‘Manu’, saying his remarks have exposed his “real” mindset.

The remarks by Madani at an event organised to promote amity drew objections from a prominent Jain monk who stormed off the stage along with a group of other religious leaders.

“Was it a ‘Sadbhavna Sammelan’ or a gathering of Jamiat’s poisonous group?” Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) national spokesperson Vinod Bansal said in a video statement, reacting sharply to Madani’s remarks.

The way Madani tried to assert “his supremacy and that of Islam” with his comment in the presence of “Hindu dharma gurus” at the event exposed his real “mindset and character”, Bansal charged,

“You talk about religion and indulge in sinful acts. Shame on you… The mindset of this Jamiat’s gathering will now have to be driven away from this country,” Bansal said.

In a tweet in Hindi, Bansal alleged that an attempt was made to attack the Jain monk at the “Jamiat’s forum” and demanded that Delhi Police take action in the matter.

“Attempt to murderous attack Jain Acharya Lokesh Muni Ji Maharaj at Jamiat Forum is very serious and condemnable. @DelhiPolice should immediately arrest the culprits and his associates,” the VHP leader said.

Rajasthan: VHP, Bajrang Dal distribute trishuls to 1,100 youth

    [ad_1]

Rajashthan’s capital Jaipur witnessed right-wing organizations like the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal distributing trishuls (tridents) to around 1,100 Hindu men which was followed by a call for Hindu Rashtra. The event was organised at Vidyadhar on Monday.

This is not the first time such events are taking place. On January 23, a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) pracharak Ishwar Lal distributed trishuls in Lohwat district of Rajasthan.

Bharat ke Andar tees hazar mandir hai jin ko todh kar unke upar kya bana die Masjide. Kitni Sankhya hai? 30,000. Bolo wapis mandir banana hai ki nahi banana hai? Ram jika toh bana diya, lekin abhi 30,000 baaki hai unko mandir banana hai. Wapis apna sthan hum ko lena hai. Aur uska naam hai Bajrang Dal. (Thirty thousand temples in India were destroyed and mosques were built on them. What is the number? 30,000. Do you want to convert them back to temples or not? We made the Ram temple, but still, 30,000 temples remain. We have to convert them into temples. We have to take back our lands)” he said in a speech.

In December 2022, a similar event was organised where trishuls were distributed and hate speech against Muslims was made. Around 500-700 people attended the event. Similar trishul distribution events were reportedly held at Balesar, Rampura, Osiyan, Dechu around Rajasthan.

  • Guj: VHP withdraws protest against ‘Pathaan’ after removal of ‘objectionable’ content

Guj: VHP withdraws protest against ‘Pathaan’ after removal of ‘objectionable’ content

    [ad_1]

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Tuesday withdrew its protest against Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Pathaan”, a day before its release, expressing satisfaction over the removal of “objectionable” contents from the film.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has revised the “obscene song” and “lewd words” in the film and hence the right-wing groups will no longer protest against its release, the Gujarat VHP’s secretary Ashok Raval said in a statement.

“Pathaan” has been facing backlash for featuring actor Deepika Padukone in a saffron bikini in the song Besharam Rang’. Several leaders, including from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, had sought a ban on the film, which is scheduled to release on Wednesday.

Talking to PTI, Raval claimed that in its recent circular, the censor board has made 40 to 45 corrections regarding songs, colour and clothes, which resolve the issues and hence, they no longer need to protest.

This was a victory of the Hindu community, he claimed.

The VHP leader in a statement said, “Following the Bajrang Dal’s protests against ‘Pathaan’, the Censor Board has revised the obscene song and unsavoury words in the film, which is good news. I congratulate all the activists and the entire Hindu community who fought this successful struggle for the protection of religion and culture.”

It is now up to the enlightened citizens to decide whether to watch the film, he said.

The right-wing groups had earlier threatened to stop the release of the film in Gujarat, while the state government had assured police protection to theatres following a representation made by multiplex owners.

Representatives of the Multiplex Association of Gujarat had last week met Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi in Gandhinagar concerned about the threat they had received from various groups.

Sanghavi had assured them support and promised to deploy policemen outside movie theatres for smooth screening of the film.

Earlier on Sunday, five activists of the VHP were arrested in Surat for rioting after they barged into a movie theatre and tore down posters of the movie. Similar protests were reported earlier.

The advance bookings for “Pathaan”, backed by Yash Raj Films, opened from January 20. The film is reportedly set to be released across India on 5,000 screens. It is the first Shah Rukh Khan film to have 6 am shows.

Gujarat: VHP activists tear ‘Pathaan’ posters at cinema hall in Surat

Surat: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists barged into a movie theatre in Surat city in Gujarat and tore posters of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer “Pathaan”, police said on Sunday.

Five activists have been arrested on the charge of rioting, an officer said.

‘Pathaan’ is facing backlash for showing Deepika Padukone in a saffron bikini in the song ‘Besharam Rang’. Many leaders, including from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, have demanded a ban on the film, scheduled for January 25 release.

The incident occurred at Rupali cinema located in Rander locality of Surat on Saturday evening.

“We received information regarding a group of people tearing posters of the movie ‘Pathaan’ at Rupali cinema. We arrested five of them and booked them for rioting. They belong to VHP,” police inspector AS Sonara said.

A case was registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections pertaining to unlawful assembly, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation among others, he said.

Recently, multiplex owners in Gujarat met Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi who assured providing police protection to theatres against anti-social elements.

In a letter to MoS Sanghavi, the Multiplex Association of Gujarat said, “the right forum for anybody having reservation or objection about the movie would be either official authorities or the Government of India or courts because the movie has been given clearance by the Censor Board”.

There are many groups which are “illegally targeting cinema exhibitors based on their own understanding and agendas,” it said.
