273 Posts of NT & 2144 Posts of Patwari are Vacant in Jammu and Kashmir, Reveals RTI

According to a recent Right to Information (RTI) report filed by activist Keshav Sharma, the Jammu and Kashmir government has confirmed that 273 posts of Naib Tehsildar and 2144 posts of Patwaris are currently vacant in the state.

The RTI application was filed by Keshav Sharma in the office of Government Financial Commissioner, Revenue J&K vide No: FC (Cord-RTI)7111615 on 17th January 2023. The government responded to the application by confirming the number of vacant positions in the state.

This revelation has caused concern among unemployed youth in the state who are now demanding that the government advertise the posts at the earliest. The unemployment rate in Jammu and Kashmir has been a cause for concern for some time now, and the news of so many vacant positions has only added to the worries of the unemployed youth.

The position of Naib Tehsildar is an important one in the state, responsible for revenue collection, land administration, and other important functions. The Patwari is also an important post responsible for maintaining land records and collecting revenue.

The government’s failure to fill these vacancies is a cause for concern, as it could impact the smooth functioning of the state’s revenue collection system. The lack of personnel in these positions could also result in delays and backlogs in the processing of land-related documents.

Unemployed youth in the state are now urging the government to advertise the vacant posts and fill them as soon as possible. They argue that this would not only provide much-needed employment opportunities but also help in the smooth functioning of the revenue collection system.

The Jammu and Kashmir government has not yet commented on the issue, but it is hoped that they will take note of the concerns of the unemployed youth and take appropriate action to fill the vacant positions.
