    JKSSB: Important Update For Students Regarding Issuance of Admit Cards

    Subject: Issuance of Admit Cards to the candidates for Computer Based Type Test (Skill Test) scheduled to be held from 09th February to 11th February, 2023, for the posts of Junior Assistant and Junior Assistant-cum-Computer Operator, advertised vide Advertisement Notification No, 01 of 2022, dated: 27-01-2022.

    1. The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) is conducting the Computer Based Type Test (Skill Test) for the posts of Junior Assistant and Junior Assistant-cum-Computer Operator whose detail is given in Annexure “A”.

    2. Admit Card for the candidates, whose examination(s) is/are scheduled on 09th February, 10th February and 11th February, 2023 shall be hosted on JKSSB’s official website (www.jkssb.nic.in) from 01st February, 2023 (04:00 PM). The Admit Card is issued to inform the candidates about the Name & Address of Exam Centre, Exam City, Exam Date and Exam Time for the candidate.

    3. Candidates can download their Admit Cards from the JKSSB’s official website (www.jkssb.nic.in) using their Application ID and Date of Birth. They must read the instructions contained therein, carefully.

    4. In case of any difficulty in downloading / issues related to Admit Card, candidate(s) may contact the JKSSB Help-Desk at 0191-2461335 (Jammu) / 0194-2435089 (Srinagar) or write to JKSSB at helpdesk.jkssb@gmail.com. Help-Desk will activate on 01st February 2023 till 11th February, 2023, during office hours.

    5. The candidature of candidates claiming eligibility by misrepresentation / concealment of any material facts, impersonation, fraud, etc. shall be liable for cancellation and disciplinary action, as deemed appropriate.

    6. The Board reserves the right to cancel the candidature of any candidate at any stage at which he/she is found ineligible.

    7. The detailed criteria of Selection for the said posts has already been notified in the advertisement notification and is available on the official website of the Board (www.jkssb.nic.in).

    8. The candidates are advised to stay in touch with the JKSSB’s official website (www.jkssb.nic.in) for the latest updates on the examinations and Admit cards will not be sent by post.

    Stepwise procedure to download JKSSB E-Admit Card:

    i. To download E-Admit Card, first visit the official website of JKSSB, i.e., www.jkssb.nic.in.
    ii. On the homepage, there will be an option to download E-Admit Card.
    iii. On that page, click on the link/button – “LOGIN”.
    iv. Enter log-in credentials, i.e., Username and Password.
    v. Username will be your Application ID & Password will be your DOB in YYYYMMDD format.
    vi. On successful completion of above step, your basic details will be shown, kindly verify the details, in case of any mismatch, please contact helpdesk via call or email.
    vii. Click on the ‘View and Print E-Admit Card’ button.
    viii. The JKSSB E-Admit Card will appear on the screen.
    ix. Download and Print your JKSSB E-admit card.

    Note: CANDIDATE MUST BRING THE PRINTED COPY OF THE E-ADMIT CARD ON THE DAY OF EXAMINATION.

    Srinagar, Jan 31: Air traffic to and fro Srinagar international airport resumed on Tuesday, a day after poor visibility and continuous snowfall forced cancellation of all 68 scheduled flights. Official sources told GNS that two indigo flights landed at the airport a short while ago.

    Earlier Director, Airport Authority of India (AAI), Srinagar Airport, Kuldeep Singh said that the visibility is good and the surface stands clear of snow for smooth arrival and departure of the flights.

    Meanwhile the train services from Banihal to Baramulla and vice versa resumed this morning after a day-long suspension on Monday last due to snowfall.

    However, Jammu-Srinagar highway, the only surface link connecting Kashmir Valley with the outside world, remained closed. “People are advised not to take any journey on NH-44 (highway) till the restoration work is completed,’ a traffic department official here said. (GNS)

    Rain/snow showers in different parts of Jammu and Kashmir to continue till evening today. After that rain/snow activities will reduce. However at a few places, rain/snow can continue till tomorrow morning, particularly at a few places in south Kashmir, Kishtwar, Ramban and Doda districts: Kashmir Weather

    Earlier today morning, Kashmir Valley including Srinagar has been covered in a blanket of snow on Monday and the weatherman has forecast more in next 12 hours and gradual decrease from tonight.

    A meteorological department official here told GNS widespread moderate to heavy snowfall has been reported in Kashmir and hilly areas of Jammu. Also moderate rain with thunderstorms were reported at most places of Jammu.

    “Snowfall and rain is very likely to continue for the next 12 hours. Expect gradual decrease in precipitation from later tonight,” he said.

    On January 31, he said, cloudy weather with light snow and rain was expected at isolated to scattered places.

    Meanwhile, he said, in the last 24 hours till 0830 hours, Srinagar received 12.5 cms of snow, Qazigund 13.0cm, Pahalgam 22.1cm, Kupwara 4.5cm, Kokernag 8.5cm, Gulmarg 30.5cm (above 1 foot), Banihal 0.4 and Bhaderwah 2.0cm.

    Regarding temperature, he said that Srinagar recorded a low of minus 0.2°C against minus 2.4°C on the previous night. Today’s minimum temperature, he said, was above normal by 0.8°C for the summer capital.

    Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of minus 0.1°C against minus 2.8°C on the previous night and it was 2.5°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir.

    Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of minus 1.4°C against minus 5.6°C on the previous night and it was 4.7°C above normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

    Kokernag recorded a low of minus 0.8°C against minus 2.7°C on the previous night and it was 1.8°C above normal for the place, the officials said.

    Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 4.6°C against minus 7.2°C on the previous night and it was 2.9°C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, he said.

    In Kupwara town, he said, the mercury settled at minus 0.4°C against minus 1.0°C on the previous night and it was above 2.1°C below normal for the north Kashmir area.

    Jammu received 8.9mm of rain during the 24 hours and recorded a low of 10.4°C against 7.6°C on the previous night. It was 1.7°C above normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said.

    Banihal received 25.5mm of rain and recorded a low of 0.2°C (above normal by 0.4°C), Batote received 43.6mm and recorded a low of 1.2°C (below normal by 0.5°C), Katra received 17.6mm of rain and recorded a low of 9.0°C (2.1°C above normal) while Bhadarwah received 34.8mm of rain during the time and recorded minimum temperature of minus 0.6°C (0.2°C below normal).

    Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil recorded a low of minus 0.6°C and minus 6.8°C respectively, the official said.

    While Chillai-Kalan, the 40-day long harsh winter period that started on December 21 has ended, a 20-day-long period called ‘Chillai-Khurd’ has started. It will be followed by a 10-day-long period ‘Chillai-Bachha’ (baby cold) which is from February 20 to March 1. (GNS)

    In the afternoon/evening, rain/snow showers of light intensity can occur at a few places in Udhampur, Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Kulgam, Shopian and Anantnag districts. A light to moderate spell of snowfall can occur in higher reaches of Anantnag and Ganderbal districts (areas adjacent to Pahalgam, Tral and Sonamarg). A light-intensity spell is also possible in higher reaches of Bandipora.

    F = “The intensity of the system is likely to be more over Jammu areas (75% chances) and south Kashmir (60% chances). It is anticipated that precipitation distribution will differ greatly, which means snow accumulation will also differ widely.”

    AH = Intensity of this weather system was maximum over parts of Jammu, followed by south Kashmir. Central and north Kashmir parts witnessed only light rains/snow — Gulmarg and a few other places recorded heavy snowfall.
    Many places in south Kashmir recorded moderate to heavy snowfall.

    F = “Overall most precipitation is expected to fall between Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening. Mostly dry weather is expected on Thursday and Friday.”

    AH = Most of the precipitation was recorded between Tuesday evening and Wednesday evening. Mostly dry weather is expected today and tomorrow across Jammu and Kashmir. A separate forecast was issued in the morning today in which different areas are mentioned where precipitation is possible today.

    The government on Thursday issued a reminder to its employees for filling details of annual property return as well as action over its non-submission by the end of this month.

    “Vide Circular No. 52-JK(GAD) of 2022 dated 22.12.2022, all the employees working under Jammu and Kashmir Government have been advised to file their property returns for the year 2022 on the PRS portal, which is accessible on https://prs.ik.gov.in from 1st of January,2023 to 31 of January, 2023,” reads a fresh government circular.

    However, the circular noted, that that a “sizeable” number of employees are yet to submit their property returns.

    “The last date for filing of property returns is fixed for 31st of January, 2023, beyond which the Portal would automatically not accept the submission of the property returns and moreover, no manual submission shall be accepted in any case,”

    Srinagar, Jan 23: As Jammu and Kashmir awaits snowfall and rains amid forecast by meteorological department, the minimum temperature fell below freezing point in the valley on Monday, officials said.

    A meteorological department official here told that Srinagar recorded a low of minus 3.4°C against last night’s 1.0°C. Today’s minimum temperature, he said, was 1.1°C below normal for the summer capital.

    Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of minus 1.0°C against 0.2°C on the previous night and it was 2.9°C above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir. Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of minus 4.7°C against minus 6.3°C on the previous night and it was 2.8°C above normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

    Kokernag recorded a low of minus 2.7°C against minus 1.9°C on the previous night and it was 0.9°C above normal for the place, the officials said. Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 9.6°C against minus 6.8°C on the previous night and it was 1.4°C below normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, he said.

    In Kupwara town, he said, the mercury settled at minus 2.9°C against minus 0.5°C on the previous night and it was normal for the north Kashmir area.

    Jammu recorded a low of 6.5°C against 7.1°C on the previous night. It was 0.5°C above normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said.

    Banihal recorded a low of 2.4°C (above normal by 2.7°C), Batote 2.1°C (below normal by 0.7°C), Katra 6.2°C (0.2°C above normal) and Bhadarwah 2.0°C (3.3°C above normal).

    Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil recorded a low of minus 12.6°C and minus 16.6°C respectively, the official said.

    Kashmir is under the grip of Chillai-Kalan, the 40-day long harsh winter period that started on December 21. It does not mean an end to the winter either. It is followed by a 20-day-long period called ‘Chillai-Khurd’ that occurs between January 30 and February 19 and a 10-day-long period ‘Chillai-Bachha’ (baby cold) which is from February 20 to March 1.

    The MeT department has forecast “isolated” light rain and snow over Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.

    “Widespread moderate snow/(rain in Jammu) & moderate to heavy snow over middle and higher reaches of J&K very likely from evening of January 24th to 25th,” he said, adding, “On January 26-28th, weather is expected to be partly to generally cloudy with light snow/rain at isolated places.”

    From January 29-30th, MeT forecast widespread moderate to heavy rain and snow.

    He said that in last 24 hours till 0830 hours Srinagar received 2.6cm of snowfall. Reports said that snowfall was also received from some upper reaches in the Valley. (GNS)

    Weather Update: Heavy Rainfall in Jammu and Kashmir, HP and Uttarakhand

    Heavy rainfall is likely in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand next week, while Delhi is expected to witness light rain and cloudy skies between January 24 and 26.

    According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the temperature is likely to dip for now but the minimum temperature may rise as the cold wave conditions improve by the end of next week.

    Over the past two to three days, minimum temperatures increased in a number of locations in the north and northwest.

    India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the Western Himalayan Region is expected to have a severe Western Disturbance beginning on January 23, and the northwest Indian plains are likely to experience it between January 24 and January 27.

    Over north India, no cold wave conditions are anticipated in the coming week.
