JKSSB: Important Update For Computer Based Written Test (CBT) for Various Posts- Details Here
JAMMU, MARCH 8: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) is conducting Computer Based written Test (CBT) for various posts with effect from 16th March to 5th April, 2023 at various examination centers in Jammu and Kashmir.
The examination has been scheduled to be conducted in multiple batches at different locations/venues setup in various districts of the UT, for which adequate security arrangements have been put in place at each examination centre.
The concerned District Magistrate will issue prohibitory orders under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) around the examination centers during the timing of examination.
A multi layered structure for supervision has also been established with one Centre Observer and Centre Magistrate for each examination center by the respective District Administration.
Besides, senior officers shall also be deployed as General Observer by the General Administration Department and IT professionals shall be deployed by Information Technology Department for monitoring of the CBT examinations. The J&K Police shall deploy security personnel for frisking and maintenance of law and order at each venue/location.
In addition, the CBT shall be conducted under CCTV surveillance for maintaining transparency in the examination. Besides, low frequency Jammers are being installed in all the examination centres to prevent the use of unfair means including cheating using Bluetooth and wi-fi enabled electronic devices.
In order to ensure that the examination process being adopted is completely secure and free from any kind of malpractice, a third party has been hired to review/audit the examination process of Computer Based Tests(CBTs) conducted by JKSSB.

The aspiring candidates appearing in the aforesaid examination are hereby cautioned against the activities of vested interests and advised not to fall prey to the designs of touts and unscrupulous elements.
If any candidate is approached by touts/unscrupulous elements in any matter pertaining to recruitments of JKSSB, they are advised to immediately report about such persons to the JKSSB.
The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) will appreciate if specific information about such unscrupulous elements along with evidence is furnished to the Board, enabling it to take appropriate legal action. The identity of such candidates who will report about the unscrupulous elements shall be kept confidential.
The JKSSB wishes best of luck to all the candidates taking the CBT examination.
Moreover, candidates scheduled to appear in the examination are also warned to desist from indulging in any unfair means practice like impersonation, carrying of prohibited items, communication devices, electronic equipments /gadgets or any other material with the intention of receiving assistance.
The candidates found to be attempting/using any unfair means practice during the examination, shall be dealt with strictly as per the provisions of Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (Conduct of Examinations) Regulations, 2022 including debarring of such candidates for appearing in future examinations.
The candidates have been advised to visit official website of the Boardhttps://jkssb.nic.in only for authentic/verified updates/information. They should also carefully read the instructions enclosed with the Admit Card.

Big B shares health update after injury, says ‘all work has stopped’

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who suffered an injury to his ribs during the shoot of ‘Project K’, has shared that he has put all his work commitments on a temporary halt in light of the recovery.
The senior actor took to his Twitter and blog on Tuesday to share an update on his health.
The actor expressed gratitude to his fans, who showered him with support and love after they came to know about his injury.
He also said that ‘Holika’ was lit at Jalsa on March 6.
An excerpt from his latest blog read, “First, to all that send their concern on my injury, may I express my gratitude and love for your prayers (sic).”
“I progress gradually, it shall take time and what has been prescribed by the doctors is being followed diligently. Rest and strapped chest, all work has stopped and will only begin once the condition improves and the medical gives an assurance (sic).”
The actor also informed people about Holika celebrations that were performed on Monday night at his Mumbai residence, Jalsa.
He wrote, “The ‘holika’ was lit last night at Jalsa, there being a date confusion on the day for HOLI… it is now done. HOLI being celebrated today… and tomorrow… so in this confusion much of what could have been done was not done… I rest and repair. But my wishes for the celebration of this joyous festival is with you… May the colours of HOLI bring the multifaceted colours of life in your life… More later… But for now my gratitude as ever… (sic).”

Srnagar, Mar 06 (KNO): The government on Monday said that the process to scrutinize over seven lakh ration card holders falling in the category of AAY and PHH in the Valley.
Talking to the news agency Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Abdul Salam Mir said that the process to identify the undeserving families who have been categorized in AAY and PHH has been started. “We have directed the officers to complete the process across Kashmir within the period of one month,” he said.
He added that a total of 1.5 lakh families fall in AAY category while nearly 5 lakh families fall in PHH category. “We have been identifying the families, who don’t deserve to be in AAY and PHH categories and they are accordingly added in APL category,” he said.
Director FCS&CA further said the employees who are found involved in providing AAY and PHH ration cards to the undeserving families are also being taken to the task.
He said in case any family does not deserve for AAY and PHH category, they should voluntarily surrender their ration cards to ensure that the poor families are benefitted. “Surrendering the ration cards voluntarily will not only save our time, but would also help in ensuring benefits to the poor and downtrodden families within the society,” he said—(KNO)

8th Pay Commission – Big update regarding 8th Pay Commission

Big news for the employees. Actually a new update is coming regarding the Eighth Pay Commission. Under which it is being said that soon the employees are going to get good news related to salary.
Employees from all over the country are preparing to shout about the 8th Pay Commission. But, there is good news waiting for the central employees. All the ways of the 8th Pay Commission are not closed yet. There is still hope and the discussion is that after the general elections of 2024, the government can also put it into practice.
Means new pay commission can be formed. Salary will continue to increase with dearness allowance. But, salary revision will happen only at the time of 8th Pay Commission. The great thing is that this increase in 2024 or rather in the 8th Pay Commission can be bigger than the increase in the 6th Pay Commission.
Tremendous benefits will be available in 8th Pay Commission-
If sources are to be believed then only after the general elections in the year 2024, there will be any discussion on the formation of new pay commission. But, it is certain that the matter is moving forward. However, in the meantime, the movement of employee unions and many organizations is also moving forward. Preparations for the nationwide movement have intensified. The union has also warned that the government will have to clear the situation on this. According to the government machinery, there is currently no proposal on the 8th Pay Commission.
Union Minister of State for Finance has also mentioned this in the Parliament. But, the sources of the government departments tell that the time has not yet come for the formation of the Pay Commission. Its deadline will start in the year 2024. After the general elections of 2024, when the new government is formed, a decision will be taken on this.
When can the new pay commission be implemented?
If the 8th Pay Commission is formed by the end of the year 2024, then it will have to be implemented in the next two years. Means the situation can be implemented from 2026. If this happens then it will be the biggest salary hike for the central government employees. According to the sources, according to the 7th Pay Commission, there can be many changes in the 8th Pay Commission. The constitution of the Pay Commission can also be changed once in 10 years.

8th pay commission: Salary will change every year?
After the formation of the 7th Pay Commission, there was the least increase in the minimum salary of central employees. Actually, the salary was increased according to the Fitment Factor. In this it was kept 2.57 times. With this, the basic salary was increased to Rs 18,000. If this formula is considered as the basis, then the minimum salary will be Rs.26000 under the maximum range of fitment factor in the 8th Pay Commission. After this, salary revision of lower level employees can be done every year on performance basis. At the same time, revision of employees with maximum salary can be kept at an interval of 3 years.

When and how much did the salary of the employees increase?
- Salary hike of central employees in 4th Pay Commission: 27.6% done. In this, his minimum pay scale was fixed at Rs.750.
- In the 5th Pay Commission, the employees got a big gift and their salary was increased by 31%. Due to this, his minimum wage directly increased to Rs.2550 per month.
- Fitment factor was implemented in 6th Pay Commission. This was kept at 1.86 times at that time. Due to this, the employees got the biggest hike in salary. There was an increase of 54% in his minimum salary. Due to this the basic salary increased to Rs.7000.
- In the year 2014, 7th Pay Commission was formed. Considering the fitment factor as the base, an increase of 2.57 times was made. But, the increment that happened was only 14.29%.
Estimated increase in 8th Pay Commission?
Now after the formation of the 8th Pay Commission, if the government keeps the salary revision on the old scale, then the fitment factor will be considered as the basis in this too. On this basis, the fitment of the employees can be done 3.68 times. On this basis, there can be an increase of 44.44% in the minimum wage of the employees. With this, the minimum salary of the employees can be Rs 26000.
Will 8th Pay Commission come or not?
Now the question is when will the 8th Pay Commission be formed? At present there is no such proposal. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chowdhary also categorically denied this in the Lok Sabha. However, if sources are to be believed, the Pay Commission will be formed when the time comes.
But, now the government has time to consider the new scale of salary hike. That’s why ways are being searched for this. Experts believe that general elections are to be held in the year 2024. In such a situation, the government would not want to anger the employees. But, it is not correct to say that the next pay commission will not come.

Google Chrome’s latest update extends MacBook battery life

San Francisco: Tech giant Google has announced various updates to its Chrome web browser that will increase the battery life on MacBooks, extending the usage users can get from a single charge.
With improved systems like memory compression and JavaScript timers, MacBook users can now browse the web via Chrome and can watch YouTube videos for a longer period of time, reports The Verge.
In tests, a MacBook Pro 13 (M2, 2022) was able to browse the web for 17 hours and play YouTube videos for 18 hours.
According to Francois Doray, a software developer for Chrome, these optimisations will also be applied to Windows, Linux, and Android devices in coming Chrome releases.
The company earlier didn’t provide any figures, so it is not possible to directly compare the battery life of the device before and after this upgrade, the report said.
Meanwhile, last month, the tech giant had rolled out the Memory and Energy Saver modes for Chrome on Mac, Windows, Linux as well as Chromebooks.

WhatsApp may bring ‘schedule group calls’ to future update

San Francisco: Meta-owned WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new feature called “schedule group calls”, which it may bring in a future update to Android and iOS users.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature is under development, so it is not ready to be released to beta testers.
The feature will make it easier for users to plan a call with other members of the group.
The feature will include a new context menu that introduces a scheduling option when the feature is enabled for users’ accounts in the future, according to the report.
Moreover, users can choose when the group call starts and assign a name to the scheduled call.
The report further mentioned that the group call scheduling feature is compatible with both audio and video calls. Also, when the call starts, all group members will be notified so they can quickly join it.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature which will allow users to edit messages on the platform, on iOS beta.
The new feature will give users up to 15 minutes to edit their messages to fix any mistakes or include any additional information to the original message.

This feature is currently under development and is not ready to be released to beta testers.
