JKBOSE 10th Practical Exam Update 2023: Mass Promotion – TheNewsCaravan

Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) will not be holding a practical exam for Class 10.
JKBOSE will rely on the internal tests held by schools during the academic session.
“Twenty marks internal exams are held at the school level. It is already a set procedure. Schools will forward us the 20 marks internal results. There is nothing new in that,” Lal Hussain, Joint Secretary, Examination, BOSE.

However, BOSE will hold external practicals for Class 11 and 12. “We will be holding the external practicals of Class 11 and 12,” he said.
Class X exam in soft zones of Kashmir concluded on Wednesday. More than 63500 students appeared for the matriculation exam. In August last year, the government shifted the academic session to March in sync with National Education Policy (NEP). Exams in hard zones started from April 8. Hard zones are those areas that are snowbound and not reachable. Since access to the area was difficult during March, the government decided to hold their exam separately.

Class 10 will go first on April 8. It will be followed by the Class 12 exam which will kick off on April 11. The exam for class 11 will start on April 12.

Meanwhile, the admission process to the next classes has kicked off in Kashmir. Several schools have started issuing admission forms to students for the next classes. Private schools too have completed the process.
This follows the decision of the Jammu and Kashmir government to provisionally promote 10 standard students to the next class in a bid to avoid academic loss.
As per the ‘Uniform Academic calendar, the students who appear in Class 10 and 11 examinations shall be provisionally admitted in Class 11th and 12th respectively after the conclusion of the Board examination.
According to a government order, students, who are declared unsuccessful shall be permitted to continue their studies in Class 11th and 12th till the result of the Biannual/Annual Private examinations is declared. “In respect of the candidates who fail to pass in Bi-annual examination, provisional admission shall be canceled,” the order said.

Poonch Infiltration Update: One Intruder Killed, Two Held With Narcotics

SRINAGAR: An intruder was killed and two others were apprehended as army said to have foiled an infiltration bid on intervening Saturday and Sunday night along Line of Control in Poonch district.
“On 08 April 2023 at 10:15 pm, own alert troops deployed on the Line of Control in the Poonch Sector observed a suspicious movement of a group (three individuals) close to the Line of Control and at around midnight the group, crossed the Line of Control and started infiltrating on to own side”, a spokesperson of defence ministry based in Jammu said in a statement.
“Own alert troops kept the movement of the infiltrating group under continuous observation and around 2:am as the group approached the fence, the alert Indian Army troops deployed on the fence challenged the infiltrators”, the statement reads.
“The intruders started to run away but were engaged by firing, in which one intruder was shot dead, while the other two managed to run into the jungle taking advantage of the thick foliage and rocky outcrop. The area was immediately cordoned to prevent their escape across the Line of Control.”
The search operation, as per the statement, was launched at first light wherein the dead body of one intruder was recovered at the encounter site. “As the search progressed in the jungle, one intruder was apprehended alive in wounded condition. In the subsequent search the third intruder was also apprehended alive.”
“In the search operation so far three bags with fourteen packets of Narcotics weighing approx 17 kgs, Pakistan currency, some documents, and eatables have been recovered.”
“Indian Army troops have by their quick action thus prevented a major infiltration bid of a narco-terror group which had the potential of disturbing the peace in Poonch & Rajouri Districts through its nefarious designs”, reads the statement . (GNS)

Big Update: Experts Confirm Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 Dates in Pakistan – Kashmir News

The Ruet-i-Hilal Research Council (RHRC) has stated that Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on Saturday, 22 April across Pakistan.
The council’s Secretary-General, Khalid Ijaz Mufti, has announced that the committee’s meeting is scheduled to sight the Shawwal moon on Thursday, 20 April. However, the odds of being able to see the moon that evening are slim.

If the moon is sighted on Thursday, Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on Friday, 21 April. Yet, according to Mufti, Eid is more likely to be celebrated on 22 April after fasting for 30 days during the holy month of Ramadan.

The moon will be born on Thursday, 20 April, at 9:13 a.m. Pakistan time, as per the council. The Mufti also stated that any reports of a crescent moon sighting on 20 April would be incorrect.

MeT Forecasts Weather Update Till April 10 – Kashmir News

Srinagar, Apr 8: Amid forecast for mainly dry weather, the minimum temperatures recorded a slight increase but stayed below normal at most places in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, officials said.
A meteorological department official here told that Srinagar recorded a low of 4.7°C against 4.4°C on the previous night and it was 2.2°C below normal for the summer capital.
Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of 3.5°C against 3.0°C on the previous night and it was 2.2°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir. Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of minus 0.4°C against minus 1.8°C on the previous night and it was 2.6°C below normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Kokernag recorded a low of 5.2°C against 3.6°C on the previous night and it was 0.2°C below normal for the place, the officials said. Gulmarg recorded a low of 1.0°C against minus 1.6°C on the previous night and it was 0.5°C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, he said.
In Kupwara town, he said, the mercury settled at 1.8°C against 1.7°C on the previous night and it was 3.7°C below normal for the north Kashmir area.
Jammu recorded a low of 14.8°C against 13.7°C on the previous night. It was 3.0°C below normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said. Banihal, he said, recorded a low of 9.4°C (above normal by 2.0°C), Batote 10.3°C (above normal by 0.2°C), Katra 13.6°C (1.5°C below normal) and Bhadarwah 5.0°C (1.0°C below normal). Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil recorded a low of minus 3.4°C and 0.2°C respectively, he added.
“Mainly dry weather is expected over Jammu and Kashmir in the next 24 hours and for subsequent two days,” the official said. (GNS)

7th Pay Commission Latest Update: Though nothing has been confirmed as of now, speculations are rife that the Centre may announce another Dearness Allowance (DA) hike in July. Experts are assuming that DA may increase by 4% with the data of the past four months. However, the government might implement a new formula for the expected DA hike, said fresh reports which come days after Union Minister Anurag Thakur announced a 4% hike in dearness allowance for over 50 lakh Central government employees.

Sources in the ministry say that now a new pay commission will not come for the employees, rather their salary will be increased according to the performance of the employees. However, the government is still brainstorming on how this formula will work in future.
How will be the new formula-
The new formula to increase the salary of the employees has not been approved yet, but it is believed that it may be completely based on DA. According to sources, under the new formula, as soon as the DA of the employees increases by 50 percent, there will be an automatic increase in their salary. This can be named as automatic pay revision, which will benefit 68 lakh central employees and about 52 lakh pensioners.

Not the officers, but the employees will get big benefit.
The maximum benefit of this formula of the government will be given to the small level employees. However, the formula is yet to be finalised. But, it is believed that after the implementation of the new rule, the salary of low-level employees will increase more. Under this, the minimum basic pay of the employees of Level Matrix 1 to 5 will be Rs 21 thousand.
7th Pay Commission
In the month of July, 2016, AK Mathur headed the Seventh Pay Commission and submitted a report on it to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. The report suggested a 23.55% hike in pay and allowances of government employees. If the 7th pay commission is implemented, government employees will benefit from a pay hike and other benefits.
The Government of India is planning to implement the 7th Pay Commission’s recommendations by January 2017. Uttar Pradesh has already approved the 7th Pay Commission and have announced that it will be implemented by January 2017.
