SRINAGAR: The University of Kashmir has opened online applications for its PhD programmes in 34 different disciplines for the academic year 2023. Interested candidates can access the application form on the university’s website from April 27, 2023. The deadline to submit the form is May 20, 2023.
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in the relevant field with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade “B” in the UGC 7-point scale or grade in a point-to-point marking system, excluding relaxation of marks, if any, to be eligible for admission. However, there is a relaxation of 5% marks or equivalent relaxation of grade for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWDs and other categories approved by the university.
Candidates who have completed an M.Phil degree with a grade ‘A’ or ‘B’ from the University of Kashmir or any other recognized university are eligible for admission to the Ph.D. programme. Relaxation of 5% marks from 55% to 50% or equivalent relaxation of grade is allowed for the M.Phil pass-out candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/PWDs and other categories approved by the university.
The university has urged candidates to visit its website for more details and to keep a copy of the application form and fee payment receipt for future reference.

It is for the information of all concerned that the Special Convocation of the University of Jammu is likely to be held in the 3rd week of May, 2023 for conferring the degrees to the candidates who have qualified for the award of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) during 2017 to 2019.
The University will also award certificates of merit, prizes and medals to the UG and PG candidates for the years 2016-2019.
The merit lists of Gold Medals have been notified and are uploaded on the University website and are open for objection, if any, upto 25.04.2023. The final list shall be available on University website by 5 p.m. on 03.05.2023.
Those interested to attend the Convocation are required to apply to the Registrar, University of Jammu from 03.05.2023 to 15.05.2023 on the prescribed form available on the University Website www.jammuunlversity.ac.in along with a fee of Rs. 7801- (inclusive of Gown/Scarf Fee of Rs. 3501..) through their respective Heads of the Department, to be deposited through a Demand Draft favouring the Registrar, University of Jammu, Jammu. The prescribed form along with fee is to be deposited with the Assistant Registrar (R&A), Office of the Dean Research Studies, University of Jammu, Jammu (between 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) against a proper receipt to be issued by Research and Award Section.
IMPORTANT NOTE :
1. All the candidates desirous of attending the Special Convocation have to compulsorily attend the Rehearsal on the date as and when notified by the University of Jammu subsequently. No candidate, who fails to attend the rehearsal, shall be permitted to attend the Convocation.
2. For the candidates of the subsequent sessions, the 19th Convocation of the University of Jammu is proposed to be held in the month of June, 2023.
