    University Of Jammu Notification Regarding PG Admission

    It is for the information of all concerned that for the Academic Session 2023-24 the admission to the following Post Graduate Degree /Diploma Programmes including LL.B, LLM, MBA, M.Tech, MPA, B.Ed etc. of the University of Jammu / Govt. PG Degree Colleges/ Private Affiliated Colleges, shall be done purely on the basis of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET-PG-2023) to be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) as mandated by the Ministry of Education and UGC.

    2. Post Graduate Diploma Programmes: PG Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM), PG Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) (Kishtwar Campus only), PG Diploma in Human Rights & Duties Education, PG Diploma in Bioinfomiatics, PG Diploma in Composite Culture Management, PG Diploma in Yoga and PG Diploma in Museology and Conservation. CUET (PG) will also provide a single window opportunity to students seeking admission in any of the Central Universities (Cus) or other participating organizations (including State Universities, Deemed and Private Universities) across the Country. All the desirous candidates seeking admission in any of the above programmes for the Academic Session 2023-24, are required to appear in the CUET-PG-23. The Entrance Test will be held online COMPUTER BASED TEST (CBT) mode, as per the schedule given below

Information about the eligibility, scheme of exam, exam centres, exam timings, exam fee, procedure for applying etc. are contained in the Information Bulletin hosted on the website of NTA https://cuet.nta.nic.in candidates who are desirous of applying for the exam may go through the Information Bulletin and apply online at https://cuet.nta.nic.in only during the period from 20.03.2023 to 19.04.2023 and also pay the applicable fee, online, through the payment gateway using Debit/Credit Cards, Net Banking, UPI.     Lab for Flow Chemistry established at University of Hyderabad

    Hyderabad: A specialized laboratory for Flow Chemistry and process intensification has been established in the School of Chemistry at the University of Hyderabad (UoH) under the Institute of Eminence (IoE) program.

    Flow chemistry and continuous manufacturing have many advantages over traditional batch processes practised in chemistry labs and the chemical industry for over a century.

    Faster reaction times – minutes to an hour instead of several hours, cheaper – less use of solvents and chemical reagents, flexible production, higher level of quality assurance, minimal waste generation – recyclable solvents and catalysts, online monitoring of reaction stages to align with sustainable development goals are few advantages of Flow Chemistry.

    Synthesis and manufacturing through flow processes and continuous reactions are rapidly becoming the industry norm for complex drug molecules, fine chemicals, and agrochemicals.

    With the new facility, hazardous chemical transformations such as those with hydrogen gas, ozone, diazomethane, carbon monoxide, etc can be carried out safely and with the economical use of catalysts and solvents.

    However, it is possible to carry out the end-to-end multi-step synthesis of drug molecules including crystallization of the final solid formulation in a serial flow reactor assembly.

    The laboratory is set up under the guidance of the Dean of School of Chemistry Prof. Ashwini Kumar Nangia, and Prof. Perali Ramu Sridhar, a synthetic carbohydrate chemist, along with their PhD students and postdocs.

    “We plan to add new types of reactions such as photo and electro-chemistry in flow, which will make it possible to carry out reagent free chemical transformations”, said Prof. Nangia.

    Lauding the Vice Chancellor, Prof. B J Rao said, “This facility gives us an opportunity to train the students and researchers in this field with ease.”

    “I hope that this facility will also augment the relevant teaching courses by giving hands-on experience to the learners of the courses,” added the VC.

    SRINAGAR: Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand is inviting applications for a fully funded Doctoral Scholarship for the year 2023.

    The University offers around 110 scholarships in the field of Architecture, Business and Government, Design, Education, Engineering, Health, Humanities, Law, Music, Technology, and Science.

    Eligible candidates need to have a strong academic record and a record of publications in outstanding journals reflecting candidates’ experience and education.

    Washington: A prominent Indian American businessman and community leader was on Friday reappointed by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to the board of trustees of the prestigious University of Florida.

    “Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the reappointment of Digvijay “Danny” Gaekwad to the University of Central Florida Board of Trustees,” the Governor’s office said in a statement.

    Gaekwad, of Ocala, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of NDS USA, the Founder of Danny G Management, the Founder of Danny Development and Investments, and the Owner of DG Hospitality.

    “He is the immediate past Chair of the Visit Florida Board of Directors and currently serves on the Enterprise Florida and Space Florida Board of Directors,” the media release said.

    Born in Baroda as the son of a Judge and grandson of a Colonel in the Indian Army, he graduated in Political Science from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda. He arrived in the United States with his wife Manisha in 1987 to live the American Dream.

    Hyderabad: Tension prevailed on the campus of Osmania University here on Friday as police detained leaders of some students’ groups to foil the protest over the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam paper leak.

    Police picked up student leaders from hostels and shifted them to Osmania University police station.

    Police had denied permission to students’ Joint Action Committee for the Vidyarthi Nirudyoga Maha Nirasana Deeksha or protest by students and unemployed.

    The organisers had planned to take out a march from Arts College on the campus to Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial Gun Park near the Assembly building in the heart of the city.

    When some protesters gathered in front of Arts College, police arrested them. Holding placards, students raised slogans of ‘Khabardar KCR’.

    A student tried to set himself afire on the campus, giving some tense moments to the police. Some police personnel swung into action to stop the student from taking extreme step.

    The Osmania University was the nerve centre of students’ protest during the Telangana movement. Self-immolation of a student during one such protest had intensified the movement.

    Students’ JAC is now looking to launch a similar movement on the problems faced by the unemployed in the state.

    Telangana Unemployed JAC chairman Bheem Rao Nayak condemned the arrests. He said their movement can’t be suppressed with arrests. He said protests would be organised from Saturday in all universities and districts.

    He criticised Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for not responding to an issue which has shocked 30 lakh unemployed in the state.

    The organisers demanded that the TSPSC Chairman and members should be removed from their posts over the paper leak. They also demanded an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or by a sitting judge.

    The police also stopped leaders of the opposition Congress party from reaching Osmania University to participate in the protest by placing them under house arrest. State Congress chief A. Revanth Reddy and other leaders were placed under house arrest.

    Meanwhile, the students’ wing of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) also staged a protest on Osmania University campus against the Congress. The workers of BRSV raised slogans of ‘Revanth Reddy go back’. The protestors tried to set afire an effigy of the Congress leader but were detained by the police.
