San Francisco: Elon Musk on Twitter has taken an exit interview of a sacked worker, who asked him to confirm if he is still an employee or not.
Ex-Twitter employee named Haraldur Thorleifsson wrote in his post: “Dear @elonmusk, 9 days ago the access to my work computer was cut, along with about 200 other Twitter employees. However, your head of HR is not able to confirm if I am an employee or not. You’ve not answered my emails. Maybe if enough people retweet you’ll answer me here?”
To which Musk replied: “What work have you been doing?”
Thorleifsson then talked about his job and the specific work he was doing at Twitter.
After a brief discussion, the Twitter boss laughed at him with emojis, indicating that he had been fired.
Moreover, the exit interview has gone viral, with many people finding Musk’s attitude rude and disrespectful.
“Publicly humiliated his ex-employee. The guy had one shot and tried to waffle by saying he saved $500k on FIGMA,” a user wrote.
“I’m sorry to say it doesn’t seem to be an actual question but him mocking you, someone who was just laid off. This makes me so upset I will probably cancel my subscription. I cannot support such a cruel organization. Explain yourself Elon!,” another user commented.
Delhi: Twitter went down for millions as users reported several issues with the platform — from links not opening to images stopped loading and more — as there was only one person handling the platform’s application programming interface (API).
When users clicked on links, they were greeted with a mysterious error message reporting that “your current API plan does not include access to this endpoint”.
Images stopped loading as well and some users said that they could not access TweetDeck.
About 85 per cent users had trouble with the web version of Twitter while 13 per cent had issues with the mobile platform
In a tweet, the company said that “some parts of Twitter may not be working as expected right now”.
The company’s support account tweeted, “We made an internal change that had some unintended consequences.”
The change in question was part of a project to shut down free access to the Twitter API, according to Platformer.
Last month, Twitter announced it will no longer support free access to its API.
It ended the existence of third-party clients and drastically limited the ability of outside researchers to study the network.
The change had cascading consequences inside the company, bringing down much of Twitter’s internal tools along with the public-facing APIs, reports The Verge.
Musk tweeted on Tuesday: “A small API change had massive ramifications”.
“The code stack is extremely brittle for no good reason. Will ultimately need a complete rewrite,” he posted.
There have been at least six high-profile Twitter outages this year, as Musk has fired thousands of employees, including those handling APIs and codes.
San Francisco: Twitter CEO Elon Musk on Monday said that the micro-blogging platform will “soon” extend “longform tweets” to 10,000 characters.
When YouTuberA@ThePrimeagen, who posts videos related to coding, asked Musk, “the dev community and I were wondering if you could add code blocks to tweets?”
Musk replied: “As an attachment? How many chars? We are extending longform tweets to 10k soon.”
Several users expressed their thoughts on Twitter CEO’s post.
While one user said, “You’re a crazy man lmao,” another commented, “!! Wow! That’s really good news. Actual microblogging!”
Last month, the company had announced that Blue subscribers in the US can post long tweets of up to 4,000 characters on the platform.
Only Blue subscribers can post longer tweets, but non-subscribers can read, reply, retweet and quote tweet to them.
Earlier, tweets were limited to only 280 characters, which still applies to non-subscribers.
Meanwhile, Musk had said that the micro-blogging platform is “spinning up subscriptions” so that users can “charge” their followers for specific content.
San Francisco: Twitter Boss Elon Musk has said that the company is seeking to enable responding to individual direct messages (DM), use any reaction emoji, and encryption on the platform later this month.
“Aiming to roll out ability to reply to individual DMs, use any reaction emoji & encryption later this month,” he tweeted.

Several users expressed their thoughts on Musk’s post.
“Great updates that will help conversations flow more smoothly. Particularly looking forward to variety of reaction emoji’s… it’s the little things,” a user commented.
“Excellent. Chat encryption is especially a must-have,” another user said.
Additionally, a user praised Musk’s efforts in implementing the new features and also asked if he could also bring the “unsend” feature for direct messages.
“That’s great. Could you also look into possibly implementing an “unsend” feature for DMs?”.
In February, Musk said that the micro-blogging platform will provide users with the ability to adjust the algorithm to their “closer match” in the “coming months”.
Meanwhile, the micro-blogging platform has announced that the users will get a “heads up” if a Community Note shows on a Tweet they have replied to, liked or retweeted.
The company tweeted from its @CommunityNotes account: “Starting today, you’ll get a heads up if a Community Note starts showing on a Tweet you’ve replied to, Liked or Retweeted. This helps give people extra context that they might otherwise miss.”
Hyderabad: Telangana health minister T Harish Rao on Sunday slammed Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan for her remarks on the allocation of medical colleges by centre to the state.
The Governor reacting to a Twitter user’s question on the number of medical colleges given to Telangana, said that the state government failed to apply in time as stated by union minister Mansukh Mandaviya. ‘You sleep and wake up late and ask. TN got 11 medical colleges in a single Year,” she remarked.

Responding to her tweet, Harish Rao said that the centre released only Rs 156 crores out of Rs 1365 crores estimated for the completion of All India Institute Of Medical Science (AIIMS) Bibinagar.
He questioned the union government as to why the Gujarat AIIMS received 52 per cent of the funds allocated for it while Telangana received only 11.4 percent.
He remarked, “It would be a great help to people of Telangana, if Raj Bhavan reorients its focus and pushes Government of India for a Tribal University and Rail Coach factory, as promised in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act of 2014”.
Instead of giving funds to Bibinagar AIIMS which is supposed to be on par with Delhi AIIMS, Union Minister makes false claims blaming TS govt. “Why no one voices about injustice meted to TS? Why not find fault with Centre in the interest of Telangana? It would be a great help to people of TS, if Raj Bhavan reorients its focus & pushes GoI for Tribal University and Rail Coach factory, as promised in APRA2014,” he tweeted.

He further tweeted, “Fact is gross injustice meted out to Telangana in sanctioning of Medical Colleges, despite repeated pleas from state government to Centre”.

He said that out of 157 medical colleges approved by Centre, none were allocated to Telangana. “Union government discriminated and deceived Telangana in all three phases of allotment of colleges,” he added.
Referring to Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s remarks that medical colleges were not allotted to Telangana state as the state government proposed districts that already have the medical colleges, Rao said, “Who is misleading people?”
“What’s worse is Union ministers’ contrasting statements on medical colleges. One said Telangana didn’t make any request, other said government wanted colleges in Khammam and Karimnagar. By stating Centre didn’t give a nod bcos private colleges are already set up, Who is misleading people?” he further remarked.

He said that chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao set up 12 medical colleges in Telangana with the state’s own funds. He said that the medical colleges were allotted in tune with the vision of setting up one medical college per each district.
“Telangana tops in the country with 19 MBBS seats per one lakh population. Instead of hurling abuses, the Centre and the Governor should appreciate the state government for opening 8 medical colleges in one day,” he said.
He questioned the Central government saying “Why does Gujarat AIIMS get 52% of estimated funds while Telangana gets only 11.4 percent when both the projects were sanctioned in 2018?”
“Instead of giving funds to Bibinagar AIIMS, which is supposed to be on par with Delhi AIIMS, Union minister makes false claims blaming Telangana government,” he said in another tweet.
The platform’s new ad verification process and disclosure mechanisms are rudimentary so far, relying on both potential advertisers and members of the public to fill out a form hosted by Google, unusual for a tech company that would typically be expected to build most of its own web features.
Both Republican and Democratic digital operatives said they expect Twitter advertising will eventually pick up as campaigns seek to meet voters wherever they are, including on the Musk-owned platform. But the same concerns about Twitter’s “brand safety” driving the platform’s overall advertising decline remain. Twitter’s rollout of the new ad policy, including the use of Google Forms, is not exactly inspiring confidence.
“It’s been several years since political advertisers have used Twitter, so it’s not just in our muscle memory or our toolbox in the way that some other things would be,” said Eric Wilson, a Republican digital strategist and director of the Center for Campaign Innovation, which studies campaign practices. “And then there is a lot of uncertainty about Twitter and who is using it.”
Twitter stopped accepting political advertising in 2019, with then-CEO Jack Dorsey saying political message reach should be “earned, not bought.” Political ads accounted for only a small share of the company’s revenue prior to the ban, Twitter said at the time.
The slow start to political advertising could partially reflect the timing. Overall political advertising is relatively low across all digital platforms in February of an off election year. Campaigns typically pick up spending on digital advertising ahead of competitive elections beginning in the fall ahead of the election year.
But campaigns also have to consider some of the “brand safety” issues that have caused other advertisers to leave or reconsider their presence on the platform, said Mark Jablonowski, president of DSPolitical, a digital advertising firm that works with Democratic candidates and causes.
The issue is not necessarily about Musk’s professed political beliefs, Jablonowski said, but reflects campaigns needing the ability to get their message across in an environment where content policies do not “amplify misinformation.”
Twitter’s policies define political advertising as ads that advocate for or against a candidate or party, appeal for votes or financial support related to an election or are paid for by registered political groups. For now, the platform is also allowing only certain kinds of political ads — sponsored posts, for example, but not sponsored hashtags. The policies also say ads cannot include false or misleading content, although it’s not clear how that policy will be enforced. Since Musk bought Twitter, he has expanded the use of community notes, which allow users to comment on others tweets intending to correct misinformation, but has also eliminated the platform’s policy of misinformation related to Covid-19 and has faced criticism for allowing back users previously suspended for spreading misinformation.
Advertisers can request verification to run political ads by submitting information via a Google Form. The company follows up with those who have submitted, with the process expected to take between two and four weeks, according to Twitter’s website. It is not clear how many campaigns have attempted to be verified so they can run ads.
There is similarly a Google Form where users can request information on political ads running on Twitter. By contrast, Meta has a verification process within its website and a public ad library on its website, where all political ads are searchable.
After POLITICO requested data on ad disclosures so far, Twitter responded on Feb. 27 saying “there are no existing political ads to disclose at this time.” The company did not respond to follow-up questions about whether campaigns or groups were going through its verification process to run ads.
“It’s apparent that there’s a resource crunch at Twitter if they’re using a Google form for the verification process,” Jablonowski said. “It seems like they want the revenue from political advertising but don’t have the infrastructure to support it.”
Polling from the Pew Research Center in 2021 found that less than 1 in 4 U.S. adults use Twitter, while nearly 70 percent use Facebook.
Still, the minority of adults who use Twitter are highly interested in politics. Campaigns and groups are likely to try out the platform eventually, particularly as digital advertising remains generally cheap and other methods of running ads will become more saturated as elections approach.
“Campaign advertising follows voters’ eyeballs,” Wilson said.

New Delhi: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has written to Delhi Chief Secretary and Delhi Police Commissioner to investigate and take necessary action against AAP leader Atishi for using children and for posting a ‘picture of minor’ on Twitter in furtherance of a political agenda.
“The Commission is in receipt of a complaint wherein it has been informed that Atishi Singh has uploaded images on her Twitter handle wherein minor children are seen holding posters of (former Deputy Chief Minister) Manish Sisodia in schools. It is alleged that the said images are uploaded by Atishi Singh in order to divert attention in the ongoing/pending investigation by the CBI against Manish Sisodia in Delhi Liquor Policy Case…,” NCPCR Chairperson Priyank Kanoongo has said in a letter to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar and Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora.
The Commission also observes that the posts uploaded by Atishi Singh showing images of children clearly indicates misuse of the students studying in Delhi schools for personal agenda which may adversely affect the psychosocial behaviour of young children for the glorification of the accused person in liquor scam, the letter reads.
The NCPCR has also underlined that the AAP party workers have installed stalls in and around the school campus and the children are being used for their political campaigning and personal agenda favouring Sisodia, and this seems to be in violation of Sections 75 and 83 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 and other relevant provisions of the IPC.
Underlining the “sensitivity of the matter”, the Commission has urged the officials to investigate the matter urgently by lodging an FIR against Atishi for misusing her position and power for her personal agenda by involving children, and posting and using images of minors without their consent.
The NCPCR has asked the agencies to submit the action taken report within 3 days of receipt of its letter.
Microblogging platform Twitter is down once again. The platform has faced outages several times in the last few months even as Twitter CEO Elon Musk assured users that they are trying to resolve issues. On Wednesday, Twitter hung for users with “Welcome to Twitter” messages popping up on users’ feeds or attempts to refresh fail as old posts show up.
DownDetector, the outage tracking website, showed several complaints from users, including 619 from India, as #TwitterDown trended on the platform.
The microblogging website faced issues on its mobile app and desktop version. While one could post a new tweet, smoothly, tweets from other users were not visible.
“Welcome to Twitter! This is the best place to see what’s happening in your world. Find some people and topics to follow now”, were the messages users saw even as they attempted to refresh their feeds.
While the app was down for several users the rest had their share of fun sharing gazillion memes, and trolling Musk, during the Twitter outage.
The awards ceremony was held today. The Best that grants the FIFA to the best soccer players of the year 2022. Here we present what were the best reactions on Twitter with the delivery of individual awards.
Here we present the best reactions to the moments experienced at The Best awards ceremony.
The best player of 2022
There is no doubt, the men’s award for the best footballer of 2022 was the Argentine Lionel Messi. The ‘Flea’ competed with the Frenchmen Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappé, although the merit of being one of the best in the world and what was shown in the World Cup was enough for him to be chosen as The Best.
One of the biggest controversies was the award for the best goalkeeper of the year, since the winner ended up being the Argentine ‘Draw’ Martinezwho has received various criticisms from the fans since they consider other goals better, a specific case of the Moroccan Yassine Bounou.
“They always ask me who my idols are or who I watched when I was a kid… Watching my mom clean buildings for 8 or 9 hours and watching my dad work. They are my idols.”
On the other hand, FIFA decided that the best fans of the Qatar 2022 World Cup were Argentina, this because of their songs and for being present at all times next to the albiceleste. Without a doubt, this decision was controversial and inflamed the majority of users.
🇦🇷 THE ARGENTINE FANS, CHOSEN AS A PRIZE FOR THE BEST FANS OF 2022.
Likewise, one of the most emotional moments that drew attention was the tribute paid to Pele. With a singer and images of the Brazilian, he ended up softening the hearts of those present.
His Jorge in a beautiful homage to him 👑 Pelé won The Best award, from FIFA. #TheBest 🏆
Likewise, among the highlights of the awards night and that stole cameras was the winner for the best female soccer player, this time being the Spanish Alexia Putellas From Barcelona.
“I have not prepared anything, thank you very much to all of you who have voted. First I want to congratulate Alex and Beth, you deserve it too. Thank you to all the people who have been there every day, not only now, throughout my entire life, that thanks to them I am what I am right now, a little piece of all those people that I have come across along the way”. were his words.
In the nominees for the best goal, Richarlison, Dimitri Payet and marcin oleski. The latter, who is an amputee player, was the one who took the award for the scissor goal that was sent in a match between Warta Poznan and Stal Rzeszow.
It was in the month of November when the footballer threw a showy scissors, which was enough for him to win the prize.
Regarding the title of the best coach of the year that closed, the winner was the Argentine lionel scaloni. The helmsman was the leader of the entire Argentine team to guide them from the bench to the long-awaited world title.
Lionel Scaloni won The Best award as the best soccer coach in the world. It had never happened. It also makes history. pic.twitter.com/qafjixzMFE
On the other hand, FIFA announced the ideal eleven of the best footballers of 2022, which was made up of Thibaut Courtois, Achraf Hakimi,Virgil Van Dijk and joao cancel; Kevin DeBruyne, Luka modric, casemiro; Lionel Messi, kylian mbappe, Erling Haaland and Karim Benzema. The particularity is that they used a 3-3-4 scheme.
It should be noted that in this lineup the absence of the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo was surprising, who could do little with the Portugal team and in his most recent clubs.

Kolkata: The official Twitter account of the Trinamool Congress has been hacked, with the picture and logo of the handle changed.
The party’s national spokesman and Rajya Sabha member Derek O’Brien has confirmed the development and claimed that communications are being made with the Twitter authorities to bring the handle back to its original format.
In the hacked handle the name has been changed to “Yuga Labs” and the original party logo has been replaced by a symbolic picture combining the letters “Y” and “L”.
The “blue tick”, however, is still there.
Party sources said that the matter came to the notice of the leaders early Tuesday morning and they doubt that the hacking incident took place on late Monday night.
“The Twitter authorities have contacted and they have assured us of giving back the party’s official Twitter handle the original looks at the earliest,” a party leader said.
However, despite being hacked no derogatory comment slamming the party has been posted through this Twitter handle.
The last tweet posted by the handle at 9.01 p.m. on Monday night, read: “#DidirSurkshaKawach is a mammoth effort at securing basic sustenance for every resident in Bengal, irrespective of age, gender, caste or religion, to achieve state-wide inclusive- growth & expand welfare cover, Didir Doots is generating awareness across households.”
Party sources said that besides informing the Twitter authorities about the development, the leadership might also file an official complaint with the cybercrime division of the Kolkata Police.
