    Hyderabad: The City police on Saturday issued traffic restrictions ahead of the Durgam Cheruvu run- 2023 being organized on Sunday between 4 am to 9 am in the limits of Madhapur and Raidurgam traffic police station limits.

    The event includes 21 km, 10 km, and 5 km runs. Approximately 4,500 runners will take part in the running event and other ancillary staff would be around 350 to 400 including organizers, volunteers, etc.

    The run is being organized by the Inorbit Mall authorities.

    VIPS are also expected to take part in the event, a press note from the police said.

    Marathon details

    • 5K Run: Inorbit mall – cable bridge – road No. 45 Down ramps U tum – Up ramp- Cable bridge straight – ITC Kohinoor – My home Abbra junction – C gate junction – Right turn – ends at inside the Mind space.
    • 10K Run: – Inorbit mall – cable bridge – straight – Road No. 45 flyover straight – Enters Hyderabad city limits – and returns back Road No. 45 flyover – Cable bridge – ITC Kohinoor beside lane – Right turn – Knowledge city – T-Hub – Right turn – C gate –and ends inside the Mind space.
    • Half Marathon (21.1KM): Inorbit mall – cable bridge – straight road no 45 flyover straight – Enters Hyderabad city limits – and returns back Road No. 45 flyover – Cable bridge – ITC Kohinoor side lane – Right tum – Knowledge city – T hub junction – left turn – Sky view building back side road – U-turn at Orian villa opposite new road – T- Hub- Left My Home Bhooja Lane – U-turn – T-Hub – Left turn – IOCL road – U-turn – T-Hub – Left turn – C-Gate – U-turn – T-Hub – Left turn – Knowledge city road- left turn – ITC Kohinoor adjacent road – Left turn – Ikea Flyover – Meenakshi Junction – Left turn – Shilpa Layout flyover Down ramp – U-turn – Shilpa Layout flyover up the ramp – Left turn – Meenakshi junction – Right turn – IKEA flyover – immediate left – C gate and ends inside the Mind space.

    Traffic diversion in the limits of Madhapur and Raidurgam Traffic PS’ limits on Sunday between 4 am to 10 am

    • The traffic coming from Kavuri Hills, COD Junction towards Bio-diversity junction via Durgam Cheruvu will be diverted at COD junction – Cyber Tower Junction – Left turn – Lemon Tree Junction – IKEA under Pass – towards NCB Junction.
    • The traffic coming from Road No 45 via Cable Bridge will be diverted at near Road No- 45 towards Madhapur L&O PS – left turn – COD junction – Cyber Towers – Left turn – Lemon Tree Junction – IKEA under Pass – towards NCB Junction.
    • ITC Kohinoor Adjacent road, C-gate road, IOCL road, My home Abhra lane, My home Bhooja Lane, Sky view lane and Orion villa opposite new road towards T-Hub will be closed.
    • The traffic coming from Biodiversity to AIG hospital via IKEA Rotary will be diverted at IKEA Rotary – Cyber Towers – Left turn – HITEX junction – Kothaguda junction – Left turn – Rolling Hills – AIG Hospital.
    • The traffic coming from Gachibowli Junction to IKEA Rotary via under the Shilpa layout flyover will be diverted towards Bio diversity Junction – Left turn – IKEA Rotary.
    • The traffic coming from Rolling hills towards Jubilee hills via IKEA flyover will be diverted at IKEA Rotary – Left turn – Lemon tree junction – Cyber towers – Right turn – COD junction – Neeru’s Junction – Jubilee hills.

    Restrictions on heavy vehicles on the below routes

    On Sunday, from 4 am to 11 am, heavy vehicles i.e trucks, lorries, DCM’s, RMCs and water tankers will not be allowed in the limits of Madhapur Traffic police station and Raidurgam Traffic police station, Cyberabad, in view of Durgam Cheruvu Marathon on the following roads:

    • Kavuri Hills Junction to Kothaguda Junction via Cyber Towers Junction.
    • Cyber Tower Junction to Bio Diversity Junction
    • COD Junction to AIG Hospital.

    SRINAGAR: The Srinagar Traffic police on Saturday issued traffic advisory asking people to avoid certain routes while travelling in Srinagar tomorrow in view of Rahul Gandhi led Bharat Jodo Yatra that is scheduled to enter the City.

    According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency KNO no traffic will be allowed from Pantha Chowk towards Dalgate.

    Motorists have been asked to use the NHW-Nowgam-Natipora-Nowgam-Sanatnagar-Hyderpora Bypass to reach their destinations.

    As per the order, in addition no traffic will be allowed from Kohnkhan Dalgate towards Pantha Chowk and motorists have been asked to use the Khonakhan-SRTC Bridge-Sangermal Road instead.

    “To reach their destinations, all motorists are advised to use the M.A Road/Residency Road/HSHS/Jahangir Chowk flyover-Rambagh-Natipora or Baghat-Sanatnagar route. Vehicles will not be allowed from Radio Kashmir, Konhakhan, Dalgate, Hotel Lalit, and Nishat towards Nehrupark, and from Brein Nishat towards Boulevard-Gupkar Road. Motorists will need to use the Nishat-Foreshore-Habbak route instead,” reads the order.

    As per the order general public and tourists have been advised to use alternative routes to reach the Srinagar International Airport to avoid any inconvenience.

    “Commuters are advised to plan their movements accordingly as the diversions will be in place on January 29. The road stretch from Pantha Chowk upto Dalgate, Dalgate upto Nishat via Nehru Park, Gupkar road have been declared as “No Parking Zones” and unattended vehicles parked on the roadside will be towed. Medical emergencies will be facilitated,” it reads.

    New Delhi: Two Delhi Traffic Police personnel in Delhi’s Dwarka area were injured after they were allegedly hit on early Friday by a car whose driver was under influence of liquor six times higher than the permissible limit, an official said.

    The accused has been identified as Santosh, 31, a resident of JJ colony, Sector-1, Dwarka.

    Head Constable Vikas is under treatment in hospital with a head injury while Head Constable Surat has been discharged after treatment for minor abrasions.

    According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dwarka, M. Harsha Vardhan, at around 2.15 p.m., a car being driven by a person under the influence of alcohol hit two traffic police persons.

    “The incident happened in Sector-1 area of Dwarka and immediately after the incident near Sector-1 red light, police personnel of Dwarka district chased the car and nabbed the driver in the jurisdiction of Dabri police station,” he said.

    Santosh was sent for medical examination and his blood alcohol content was found to be six times the permissible limit, said the official.

    A case under section 186, 353 and 307 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Dwarka South police station and the accused has been detained.

    Police said that it appears that the accused tried to avoid challan by traffic personnel which led to this incident.

    Hyderabad: The city traffic police have issued an advisory asking citizens to avoid getting stuck due to Republic Day celebrations at Parade Ground in Secunderabad on Thursday.

    The road stretch from Secunderabad Plaza to VV Statue Junction (Khairatabad) via Somajiguda junction will witness moderate traffic congestion from 6 am to 11 am.

    Raj Bhavan Quarters Road (Metro Residency) will be closed for general traffic on both sides during the above timings.

    Traffic congestion are expected at the following places – Plaza, CTO, Rasoolpura, Prakashnagar, Begumpet, Greenlands, Somajiguda Junction, Rajbhavan Metro Station, VV Statue Junction (Khairatabad), Telugu Thali Junction, Ravindra Bharathi, Abids GPO and MJ Market.

    Citizens are requested to take alternate routes to reach their destination and cooperate with the Hyderabad Traffic Police.

    Srinagar, Jan 25 (GNS): The authorities on Wednesday issued advisory regarding movement of traffic in Srinagar on January 26.

    According to the advisory, various diversions have been ordered in view of the main R-Day function being held at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium Sonwar here.

    It said that no traffic shall be allowed from Panthachowk towards Dalgate and all motorists shall use highway-Nowgam-Natipora-Nowgam-Sanatnagar-Hyderpora Bypass to reach to their destinations.

    “No traffic shall be allowed from Dalgate towards Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium Sonwar. Motorists shall use Khonakhan-SRTC Bridge-Sangermal Road to reach to their destinations,” it said, adding, “No vehicle shall be allowed towards Panthachowk via Dalgate Sonwar route. All motorists shall adopt M.A Road/Residency Road/HSHS/Jahangir Chowk flyover-Rambagh-Natipora or Baghat-Sanatnagar route to reach their respective destinations.”

    It said no vehicle will be allowed from Radio Kashmir, Dalgate, Hotel Lalit, Sonwar and Rajbagh near Bridge towards the venue except for those carrying valid invitation cards and passes.

    “General Public/Tourists are requested to adopt alternative routes to reach the Srinagar Airport to avoid any inconvenience,” the advisory, a copy of which lies with GNS, said, adding, “Commuters are requested to plan their movement diversion will be in place from 06:30 AM till 12:30 PM.” However it said, medical emergencies will be facilitated.     Jerusalem: The number of people killed in traffic accidents in Israel decreased to 351 in 2022, compared to 364 fatalities the year before, an annual report from the country’s Central Bureau of Statistics has said.

    The number of seriously injured people in traffic accidents in Israel increased from 2,458 to 2,510, and the number of accidents with serious injuries, without fatalities, rose from 2,208 to 2,230, Xinhua news agency reported, citing the report.

    The number of people killed or injured in road accidents in Israel was 18,213 in 2022, a decrease of 10 per cent compared to the figure of the year before.

    There was also a 10 per cent rise in the number of people killed or injured in electric scooter accidents, according to the report.

    Bengaluru: The Congress on Monday will stage silent protests during the peak traffic hours at 300 locations across the state capital to demand the eradication of corruption to ‘save’ Bengaluru.

    The police department has refused to give permission for the protest. Congress party sources stated that the party will go ahead with its protest plan.

    The protest will be staged at 51 metro stations, 26 flyovers and 200 traffic signals. The party has said that they will not create any trouble for the passengers, vehicle riders and drivers during their morning rush hours through the protest.

    “The Congress workers are going to hold placards against the ruling BJP and stage protests. The party wants to give a message and create awareness among people to save Bengaluru and also save the state,” Congress MLA N.A. Harris stated.

    The police department has given directions to jurisdictional DCP’s to take action against the Congress leaders. The department has deputed 5,000 policemen to monitor and control the situation.

    Police sources said that the protest was expected to cause traffic jams across the city and they have got orders to detain the Congress leaders.
