JAMMU, Mar 2: Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday Trapped Mohd Sultan , Sgct Of Chinore Police Post Jammu While Demanding And Accepting Bribe Of Rs. 8,000/-
On 02.03.2023 P/S ACB, Jammu received a written complaint wherein the complainant stated that on 01.03.2023, the Police of P.P. Chinore has arrested his son namely Sahil Mehra in a false and frivolous case on the complaint of local resident of Chinore. The Mohd Sultan, an official of P.P Chinore has demanded Rs. 8,000/- as bribe for release of his son from Police custody.
He further stated that he had already paid Rs. 4,000/ out of the demanded bribe of Rs. 8,000/-, but the said Munshi again demanding balance bribe amount of Rs. 4,000/- for release his son.
The complainant stated that he don’t want to pay bribe but the said Official compelled him to pay the bribe and under compelled circumstances he is going to pay the balance bribe of Rs. 4000/- to said Munshi and requested for taking action under law.

Unidentified man jumps into Jhelum in Srinagar

An unidentified man has allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Jhelum in Sempora area of Panthachowk in Srinagar outskirts on Wednesday evening.
Reports reaching Asian News Hub (ANH) said that an unidentified man jumped into river Jhelum in Sempora this evening.
Subsequently, a rescue operation was launched to retrieve the body, reports said.
Police has taken cognizance of the incident.

J-K govt terminates 23 ReTs for ‘invalid degree certificates’

School Education Department has terminated services of 23 Rehbar e Taleem (ReT) teachers of Jammu division on basis of qualification certificates acquired from Un-recognized Boards.
Director of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) said that those teachers are termination from services on basis of qualification certificates acquired from Un-recognized Boards.
The official communique in this regard reads, “A committee was constituted to review the pending regularization cases of RETs.”
“The committee member in meeting held on February-07-2023, observed that 23 RETs of different districts of Jammu Division have acquired their qualification from the Boards which have not been granted equivalence by the J&K Board of School Education, Jammu as these boards have not been recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India,” it reads.
The communique further reads that the committee has recommended the termination of services twenty three RETs as per immediately as they do not possess the requisite qualification certificates.
“Now, therefore in view of the recominendations of the committee, the concerned Chief Education Officers are directed to disengage the services of those twenty three RETs as per immediately,” DSEJ said. (KNO)
