    SRINAGAR: According to sources, a tourist from Mumbai passed away at a resort in Sonamarg, located in the Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.

    The 66-year-old man, identified as Deepak Shah and son of Manhar Bhai Shah, was visiting Sonamarg when he suddenly fell unconscious in his hotel room.

    He was rushed to the nearby Primary Health Centre (PHC) but was declared dead upon arrival.

    The cause of death was reported to be a heart attack, as per sources.

    SRINAGAR: One among the four injured due to electrocution at Lidroo area of Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district succumbed to his injuries at hospital on Sunday.

    An official said that four people were injured due to electrocution after they came in contact with transmission line at Lidroo this afternoon.

    He said one among them succumbed to his injuries at GMC Anantnag while three others are undergoing treatment.

    The deceased have been identified as Mehraj-Ud-Din Reshi, son of Gull Mohammad Reshi of Veer Siran. (KNO)

    Kishtwar, May 4: An Aviation technician, among the three members on board a helicopter witnessing a crash in Kishtwar Thursday afternoon, has succumbed to his injuries, official sources said.

    They told GNS that the Aviation Technician Pabballa Anil was evacuated from the site of crash alongside the two pilots to Command Hospital Udhampur. “The injured technician succumbed shortly after”, they said adding the two pilots are safe and are responding well to the treatment.

    Earlier in a statement, a defence spokesperson said that three army personnel, including two pilots and a technician, sustained injuries after a helicopter they were on board apparently made a rough landing along the banks of Marua river in Kishtwar region this morning.

    “At about 1115 hours on 04 May 2023, an Army Aviation ALH Dhruv helicopter on an operational mission made a precautionary landing on the banks of Marua river in the Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir. As per inputs, the pilots had reported a technical fault to the Air Traffic Controller (ATC) and proceeded for a precautionary landing. Due to the undulating ground, undergrowth and unprepared landing area, the helicopter apparently made a hard landing”, reads a defence official statement adding an immediate rescue operation was launched and Army rescue teams reached the site.

    “Two pilots and a technician were on board. All three injured personnel have been evacuated to Command Hospital, Udhampur.”

    “A Court of Inquiry has been ordered”, reads the statement adding further details are being ascertained. (GNS)

    Quoting an official, KNO reported that Ali Hassan Ansari of Jharkhand succumbed to his injuries at SMHS hospital in Srinagar on Wednesday morning.

    Five persons had died and 28 were injured in a road accident in Awantipora area on March 18.

    The accident took place when a bus turned turtle on national highway in Awantipora.

    Sopore, Mar 5 (GNS): A 50-year-old Sopore resident who had sustained injuries in a mysterious blast last month has succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Soura, officials said.

    They told GNS that Mohammad Jamal Dar (50), a resident of Warpora was undergoing treatment at SKIMS Soura after he received critical injuries from some mysterious blast while digging earth at his kitchen garden in morning hours on February 23, 2023.

    After remaining at the hospital for all these days, he eventually breathed his last this afternoon, they said.
