Hyderabad: Speeding car accident at Secundrabad claims life of food delivery boy

Hyderabad: A tragic accident that occurred near the Alwal police station limits in Secunderabad, claimed the life of one and left two others injured.
The deceased, reportedly a food delivery boy, was hit by a speeding car, driven by a female techie.
The incident reportedly occurred at night when a speeding car from Kanaji Guda hit a person, then continued to run until a high-tension pole made it stop.

The incident caused injuries to three people who were rushed to the hospital, where the victims succumbed to injuries.
Police identified the driver as a software employee who accelerated her car by mistake while she was supposed to hit the brake to avoid hitting a man who came in front of the car which ended up in a major accident.

North Kashmir: Speeding car rams into tree, minor girl killed

Baramulla, Apr 18:A rashly driven car rammed into a roadside tree at Trumgund village of North Kashmir’s Sopore town, killing the minor girl and leaving two others on board including the driver of the vehicle injured.
According to the police, a speeding car (JK09A- 6032) was on its way to Srinagar from Baramulla. As it reached near Trumgund area, the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rammed into a road side tree. The hit was so fierce that the trunk of the big poplar tree was damaged.
The villagers informed the police about the incident and the three persons on board including the driver were rushed to Sub-District Hospital but he doctors declared one among them brought dead who has been identified as 12-year-old girl Snowbal Maqbool, a resident of Trumgund village of Sopore.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and further investigation is in progress. [KNT]

UP: Elderly vegetable seller dies after being hit by speeding vehicle

Sultanpur: A 60-year-old vegetable seller died after being hit by a speeding vehicle on the Ayodhya-Prayagraj National Highway in this Uttar Pradesh district on Sunday, police said.
SHO of Kurebhar police station Praveen Yadav said at around 7.30 am, Raghunath Chaurasia had gone to market to open his vegetable shop. As he was crossing the road, he was hit by an unknown speeding vehicle. He died on the spot.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem examination, he added.

Another leopard run over by speeding vehicle in Telangana

Hyderabad: In yet another incident indicative of growing man-animal conflict, a leopard was killed after being hit by an unknown speeding vehicle in Telangana’s Nizamabad district.
The animal was run over by the vehicle on national highway near Chandrayanpalli when it was apparently crossing the road.
The leopard’s remains were shifted to the district forest office for a post-mortem examination. Forest officials said they have registered a case and were trying to identify the vehicle which hit the leopard resulting in its death.
“Speed kills. Another victim of speeding vehicle on national highway. This ill fated leopard was killed near Chandrayanpalli,” tweeted Mohan Pargaien, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Telangana.
Nizamabad and adjoining Kamareddy district have reported similar incidents in the past.
In September, a leopard was run over on the national highway in Daggi forest area of Kamareddy district.
Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary spread over Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts is known for a wide variety of life including more than 60 leopards.
Forest officials say due to growing man-animal conflict, leopards are dying in road and rail accidents.

Animal conservation activists have been demanding that the speed of vehicles on highways passing through forests be controlled to prevent such accidents. They have also suggested construction of underpasses and bridges in forests for animals.
