Lazio-Sampdoria, Sarri to Sky: “Not 100% but a serious match, Luis…”

    [ad_1]

The words of the biancoceleste coach who spoke from the belly of the Olimpico shortly after the triple whistle in the match against the blucerchiati

There Lazio wins three very heavy points against Sampdoria at the end of a difficult race. The biancocelesti leave the Stadio Olimpico victorious thanks to a marvel from Luis Alberto who scores the final 1-0 for Lazio. At the end of the race Maurice Sarri spoke to the microphones of Sky to analyze the performance of your team. These are the words of the Biancoceleste coach.

“It was also normal that we weren’t at our peak. We had 5-6 players on the pitch who had played on Thursday and we forced some returns like Sergio, Zaccagni and Pedro. It was clear you could leave something but I liked the attitude. excluding ten minutes of heeling at the beginning of the second half. Not a game played at 100% of our possibilities but certainly a serious game. It became a ‘dirty’ victory even if we had 8-9 goals, so it could have become a victory ‘in the clean’. I didn’t convince Luis Alberto, he knows what I’m asking. And at a certain point of the season I saw him train in a different way, with a determination that I hadn’t seen in him and I’m happy that by changing the way working out is having an amazing time.

Naples? We always happen to play against teams that played a couple of days before us. But I also understand that formulating a calendar in this bedlam of matches is difficult. We will go there and play it, knowing that they are stronger than us. But that doesn’t mean you can deny a philosophy because we face a stronger team. Then there is the fact that they play a lot more because this season they are a team far superior to all the others.

They made a policy of extreme courage, giving up players of a certain age who had done very well. And they went to get young players who had done very well, someone unknown. Giuntoli is a master at this, I was confident he would find strong players. So strong, however, it was difficult to predict. Then, as regards the Napoli fans… I was a Napoli fan as a child and I felt like one of them.

The fans always give us a hand, when we play at home the atmosphere is always like this. But also away from home: we played a match in Romania with 500 Lazio fans. So we can’t ask him anything more.”

  • F1 2023 | Here are the Sky and TV8 TV times of the Bahrain GP

F1 2023 | Here are the Sky and TV8 TV times of the Bahrain GP

    [ad_1]

The time to hide, try, experiment and compare is over. Finally it’s getting serious. The 2023 Formula 1 World Championship kicks off this weekend in Sakhir with the Bahrain Grand Prix.

The Sakhir track is once again a great protagonist after hosting the first and only Formula 1 pre-season test last weekend. The drivers and teams will be able to count on the data collected to arrive ready and try to extrapolate the maximum possible potential from their respective single-seaters.

At this point in the season it was only possible to make assumptions. The only certainty – even if not absolute in terms of advantage over rivals – is Red Bull Racing. Right from the first kilometres, the RB19 seemed ready to give its best both on the fast lap and, above all, on the race pace.

Tire management that is already of the highest level which, at least in part, seems to lead to an advantage over Ferrari, ahead of its rivals. The questions will be precisely the following: how much advantage will Red Bull have? Will they be able to change things already from Sakhir?

Photo by: Zak Mauger / Motorsport Images

And then, of course, impossible to forget Mercedes. Toto Wolff’s team has decided to pursue a single-seater design and structural philosophy very similar to that of last season, but the Austrian manager himself stated that we will see the W14 change significantly, a symptom that the road taken was not the one right.

Even more confusion, if possible, regarding the center group. Alpine is perhaps the team that has most hidden itself in terms of performance, but both of its pilots have spoken of the A523 in a more than positive way. The surprise could instead be Aston Martin, which with Fernando Alonso is aiming for fourth place and, why not, on occasion even tripping one of the three top teams unexpectedly.

    Bahrain GP: Sakhir’s data

    First F1 GP held: 2004
    Runway length: 5,412 meters
Number of laps in the race: 57
    Race distance: 308.238 meters
Record lap: 1’31″447 of Pedro de la Rosa (2005)
Winner in 2022: Charles Leclerc (Ferrari F1-75)

  • Beating Retreat: Vijay Chowk to resonate with classical ragas, 3,500 drones to illuminate the sky

Beating Retreat: Vijay Chowk to resonate with classical ragas, 3,500 drones to illuminate the sky

    [ad_1]

Delhi: Indian tunes based on Indian Classical Ragas will be the flavour of the ‘Beating the Retreat’ ceremony this year which will be graced by President and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Droupadi Murmu at Vijay Chowk in the national capital on January 29.

According to the Ministry of Defence, 29 captivating and foot-tapping Indian tunes will be played by the music bands of the Army, the Navy, the Air Force and the State Police and the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will also be present in the ceremony. The event will witness the country’s biggest Drone Show, comprising of 3,500 indigenous drones.

The drone show will light up the evening sky over the Raisina hills, weaving myriad forms of national figures/events through smooth synchronisation. It will depict the success of the startup ecosystem, technological prowess of the country’s youth and pave the way for future path-breaking trends. The drone show will be organised by Botlabs Dynamics.

For the first time, a 3D anamorphic projection will be organised during Beating Retreat Ceremony on the facade of the North and South Block.

The ceremony will begin with the massed band’s ‘Agniveer’ tune which will be followed by enthralling tunes like ‘Almora’, ‘Kedar Nath, ‘Sangam Dur’, ‘Queen of Satpura’, ‘Bhagirathi’, ‘Konkan Sundari’ by Pipes and Drums band, said the Defence Ministry statement.

Indian Air Force’s band will play ‘Aprajey Arjun’, ‘Charkha’, ‘Vayu Shakti’, ‘Swadeshi’, while ‘Ekla Cholo Re’, ‘Hum Taiyyar Hai’, and ‘Jai Bharati’ will be played by the band of Indian Navy.

The Indian Army’s band will play ‘Shankhnaad’, ‘Sher-e-Jawan’, ‘Bhupal’, ‘Agranee Bharat’, ‘Young India’, ‘Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja’, ‘Drummers Call’, and ‘Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon’.

The event will come to a close with the ever-popular tune of ‘Sare Jahan se Acha’.

The principal conductor of the ceremony will be Flight Lieutenant Leimapokpam Rupachandra Singh. While the Army Band will be led by Sub Maj Diggar Singh, the Naval and Air Force band commanders will be M Anthoni Raj and Warrant Officer Ashok Kumar.

The conductor of the State Police and CAPF bands will be Asstt Sub Inspector Prem Singh, said the official statement.

The Buglers will perform under the leadership of Naib Subedar Santosh Kumar Pandey, and pipes and drums band will play under the instructions of Subedar Major Baswaraj Vagge.

The ‘Beating the Retreat’ ceremony at the Vijay Chowk on January 29 every year marks the culmination of the four-day-long Republic Day celebrations. It has emerged as an event of national pride when the Colours and Standards are paraded.

The ceremony traces its origins to the early 1950s when Major Roberts of the Indian Army indigenously developed the unique ceremony of display by the massed bands.

It marks a centuries-old military tradition when the troops ceased fighting, sheathed their arms and withdrew from the battlefield and returned to the camps at sunset at the sound of the Retreat. Colours and Standards are cased and flags are lowered. The ceremony creates nostalgia for the times gone by.

  • Sky Sports to broadcast ICC tournaments in UK and Ireland till 2031

Sky Sports to broadcast ICC tournaments in UK and Ireland till 2031

    [ad_1]

Dubai: Sky Sports will broadcast all International Cricket Council (ICC) tournaments in the UK and Ireland until the end of 2031 after signing a new eight-year deal with cricket’s world governing body.

For the first time, there will be a direct contractual relationship between the ICC and Sky Sports.

“We are delighted to partner with Sky Sports until 2031 as the home of ICC cricket in the UK and Ireland. For the first time the partnership will be a direct relationship with Sky Sports which gives us some exciting opportunities for innovative collaborations. I am confident this partnership can support our long-term ambition to attract more players and more fans to the game,” said Geoff Allardice, ICC Chief Executive, in an official statement on Friday.

Starting from 2024, the partnership will see Sky and its streaming platform NOW hold the ICC Broadcast and Digital rights for all men’s and women’s events at the pinnacle of the sport including the ICC Cricket World Cups and ICC T20 World Cups through to the end of 2031.

During the course of the partnership, there will be both a major international men’s and women’s event every year as well as a World Test Championship Final every two years.

The new deal reaffirms Sky as the long-term home of cricket in the UK and Ireland, broadcasting 28 international events between 2024 and 2031 across men’s, women’s and u19 cricket. This also includes three confirmed events on UK soil, the ICC World Test Championship Final 2025, the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 and the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2030.

“With more people watching cricket at the highest-level after England men’s and women’s successes in 2017, 2019 and 2022, our award-winning coverage strives to give cricket fans the complete experience, with all the action both on and off the pitch.

This new direct partnership with the ICC means that Sky Sports viewers in the UK & Ireland will continue to enjoy every ball, run, wicket and catch from every international tournament for many years to come, and we’re all hugely excited to see what’s in store,” said Jonathan Licht, Sky Sports MD.

ICC events have had registered record viewing in the UK in recent years. The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019 recorded the highest average audience for a cricket tournament in the UK to date and drew the highest ever UK TV peak for cricket of 8.8m viewers as Sky shared the rights to the Final with Channel 4.

England’s victory over Pakistan in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Final last year at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Australia was the highest viewed T20 match in the UK ever following a similar partnership with the terrestrial broadcaster.

Last year in August, Disney Star had bagged rights to broadcast all ICC men’s and women’s events in India on a four-year deal from 2024 to 2027. Less than 48 hours later, it announced that they had licensed the TV broadcasting rights of the Men’s and Under-19 events to Zee.
