  • Hyderabad: End Raja Singh’s ‘Anarchic Raj’ in Goshamahal, says BRS

Hyderabad: End Raja Singh’s ‘Anarchic Raj’ in Goshamahal, says BRS

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Hyderabad district incharge Dasoju Sravan on Sunday said the public should re-elect BRS in the upcoming Assembly elections and put an end to the ‘Anarchic Raj’ of suspended BJP leader T Raja Singh in the Goshamahal constituency.

Speaking at the party ‘Athmeeya Sammelan’ at Boggulakunta, he said that Raja Singh, MLA of Goshamahal, is more focused on spreading BJP’s hate politics in the state rather than development work in his constituency.

“People belonging to various cultures, regions and religions live in Goshamahal reflecting the unity in diversity of our nation. It is disheartening that Raja Singh, who is the face of BJP’s communal politics is representing this constituency in Telangana Assembly, a disgrace,” remarked Sravan.

    MS Education Academy

He said that CM K Chandrashekar Rao is turning a drought-hit Telangana into a prosperous and progressive state by working round the clock and dedicating his entire life for the state. “PM Modi and his partymen are leaving no stone unturned to create communal tensions in Telangana and obstruct its development,” he added.

He said that the time has arrived to choose between KCR’s BRS which strives for the welfare of people belonging to all sections and religions and Modi’s BJP which is obstructing development and breaking the backs of people, riding on communal politics.

“While BRS MLAs are busy implementing the schemes introduced by KCR like Dalit Bandhu, Rythu Bandhu, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, KCR kits, Basti Dawakhanas, Aasara pensions and others in their constituency, Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh does not even have time to attend Assembly,” said the BRS leader.

He said that Raja Singh neither takes up nor attends development works in his constituency. “I wonder why he has become an MLA,” said Sravan.

He said that the Centre has been looting the common man while riding on religious sentiments and that it is high time people put an end to BJP’s ‘crooked politics’.

“PM Modi said that he will create two crore jobs per year. That means he has created 18 crore jobs till now. But not even 18 thousand jobs have been created till now,” he said.

He said that the price of LPG has been hiked from Rs 400 to Rs 1100, petrol and diesel prices have more than doubled in PM Modi’s tenure while the prices of all the essential commodities have skyrocketed.

“People belonging to all sections have been betrayed by PM Modi. and the BJP is now eyeing Telangana. Politically aware people of Telangana should put an end to PM Modi’s Sarkar at Centre and teach BJP a lesson, by electing KCR as the CM for the third time,” Sravan said.

Hyderabad: Godse’s photo appears at Raja Singh’s Rama Navami rally

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: As the suspended Goshamahal BJP MLA Raja Singh, joined the main rally when it passed via Mangalhat, a portrait of Godse appeared. People who joined Singh’s fringe rally waved photos of Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin, now a beloved Hindutva figure.

The Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra in the city here began at Sitarambagh Temple near Asif Nagar on Thursday. The event initially began with a few hundred members and slowly grew bigger as it passed via the Mangalhat police station area.

As another procession by the Sri Ram Yuva Sena, headed by suspended Goshamahal BJP MLA Raja Singh, joined the main rally when it passed via Mangalhat, a portrait of Godse appeared. People who joined Singh’s fringe rally waved photos of Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin, now a beloved Hindutva figure.

Artists, cultural troupes and musical bands brought in by the Sri Ram Navami Utsav Committee also participated in the procession right from the beginning. DJs played Hindutva songs at the event, which last year witnessed hate speeches being made. Raja Singh, who has been banned from participating in political public meetings by the Telangana High Court, made a small speech at the event.

“Our elders worked hard and made the Ram temple a reality. It will soon be inaugurated. Our focus now has to be on Kashi and Mathura temples, for which we need to fight. Hindus should not be afraid of anyone. One Hindu can fight 10,000 people. There is nothing to fear, and we have to form a Hindu Rashtra,” Raja Singh.

At around 3 pm the procession was at the Mangalhat police station road. From there it will pass via Begum Bazar and other areas. According to sources, Hindutva leaders and participants will make a pledge to make Hindu Rashtra.

  • Amritpal Singh’s Aid Booked Under Arms Act

    [ad_1]

Srinagar:  Jammu and Kashmir Police have filed a case under the Arms Act against a close aide of fugitive Amritpal Singh for illegally procuring a gun license.

According to NDTV, Varinder Singh managed to acquire a gun license from Kishtwar district in 2013 and renewed it every year in four different districts across Jammu and Kashmir. Varinder Singh, also known as Fauji, was arrested by Punjab police a few days ago and booked under the National Security Act (NSA) before being sent to Dibrugarh jail in Assam.

The two supporters of Amritpal Singh, Varinder Singh and Talwinder Singh, have been discovered to have obtained gun licenses from Jammu and Kashmir. An FIR has been filed in Kishtwar and investigations are ongoing. Despite the fact that both licenses were cancelled after Punjab Police wrote to the district magistrates of Kishtwar and Ramban, the major gun license scam in Jammu and Kashmir has once again been brought to the forefront, NDTV reported.

As per NDTV’s report, between 2012 and 2018, district magistrates issued over 2.78 lakh illegal gun licenses, making it the biggest arms license scam in India. The case was transferred to the CBI by then Jammu and Kashmir Governor NN Vohra. The CBI discovered that illegal gun licenses had been issued by district magistrates in collusion with arms dealers.

Varinder Singh had acquired a gun license through forged documents when he and his army unit, the 19 Sikh Regiment, were deployed in Jammu and Kashmir. Despite being terminated from the army in 2015, his gun license was still being renewed in Jammu and Kashmir. The renewal of his gun license by district magistrates in Kathua, Reasi, Baramulla, Poonch, and Kishtwar highlights how easily they were issued and renewed in the state, NDTV reported.

The arms license racket was first uncovered by ATS Rajasthan in 2017 after they found criminals with licensed weapons issued by bureaucrats in Jammu and Kashmir. The ATS Rajasthan also discovered over 3,000 licenses issued in the name of army personnel based on fake documents.

Despite attempts by the PDP-BJP government in the state to shield the accused under the guise of a Vigilance probe, then Governor NN Vohra handed over the case to the CBI after the imposition of Governor’s rule in 2018. In March 2020, the CBI arrested an IAS officer who had issued thousands of licenses during his tenure as the district magistrate of Kupwara.

  • Delhi HC seeks Centre’s reply on journalist Angad Singh’s plea

Delhi HC seeks Centre’s reply on journalist Angad Singh’s plea

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday asked the Central government to file a proper counter affidavit to a Vice News journalist Angad Singh’s plea challenging his deportation from Delhi to New York in August last year and being “blacklisted” despite being an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card holder.

Appearing for the Centre, advocate Anurag Ahluwalia had last month told the court that as the US-based journalist has violated Section 11A of the Foreigners Order, 1948, which prohibits a foreigner from producing any picture, film or documentary without permission in writing from the Centre, he is a blacklisted subject.

During the hearing on Tuesday, appearing for Singh, Advocate Swathi Sukumar said that she had moved an amendment application against the blacklisting which was mentioned in the counter affidavit of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

The FRRO, in an affidavit, told the court that Singh was blacklisted at the instance of the Consulate General of India in New York.

According to the affidavit, Singh had allegedly depicted India in a negative manner in the “India Burning” documentary.

Ahluwalia had earlier submitted that Singh was entering India on his journalist visa for a personal visit but he wasn’t issued a visa for that.

On Tuesday, Sukumar further said that she did not have a copy of the blacklisting order.

Ahluwalia said that he would file a “detailed response”. He added that the primary condition was that Singh comes to the place, makes a video, gives it to the consulate general for approval, once approved, then the video could have been made public.

Sukumar argued that the Centre had to seek instructions on whether any proceedings were initiated for cancellation of Singh’s OCI card.

To this, Ahluwalia said that they have not initiated any proceedings as of now and added that filing the blacklisting order may not be necessary.

While allowing the amendment to the writ petition and directing the Centre to file a proper counter affidavit to the amended petition, the court noted: “It is submitted by the Centre that their stand would be stated in the counter affidavit which is now to be filed in the amended writ.”

The court listed the matter for the next hearing in May.

Singh has covered important issues in his documentaries, including the Shaheen Bagh protests, the farmers’ protests and the Covid-19 pandemic in India, among others.

In his plea, Singh has mentioned that his fundamental right under the Citizenship Act, 1955, is being violated by not letting him into India.

Earlier, Singh’s counsel had sought a declaration that his deportation from the government was illegal and disclosure of all the materials and data available with the government related to him.
