“And you know if you bump up against those limits often enough, you will be fired for it,” Carlson said. “That’s not a guess; it’s guaranteed. Every person who works in English language media understands that. The rule of what you can’t say defines everything.”

Carlson, the former host of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Fox News, exited the company after Fox News settled Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit for $787.5 million.

Carlson first joined Fox News as a contributor in 2009, and in 2017, Carlson took over the network’s 8 p.m. hour after Bill O’Reilly was forced out. Carlson was one of the most-watched hosts on the cable news network, with an average audience of 3.2 million viewers.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) took to Twitter to say that she “can’t wait” for Carlson’s new show.

“The truth will be unstoppable,” Greene said.

Jr NTR to host THIS show

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Imagine being captivated by someone’s oratory abilities as they speak to a crowd with such charisma and passion that you can’t help but pay attention to every word. That is the magnetic energy that Jr. NTR, one of the few Tollywood movie heroes with such qualities, brings to the table. And now he might be making his way back to television.

NTR’s television debut with Bigg Boss Telugu’s first season was a huge success, leaving viewers wanting more. While he did not return for the subsequent seasons, he did make a comeback in 2021 with the critically acclaimed show Evaru Meelo Koteeshwarulu. Despite its popularity, NTR’s hectic schedule made it difficult for him to continue, leaving fans disappointed.

However, rumours are circulating that ETV, a prominent channel, has approached NTR with an exciting new proposition: a large conversation show on their OTT platform, ETV Win. So far, this platform has seen the release of a few original films and TV episodes, but they have yet to gain widespread popularity. ETV hopes to increase their subscriber base and make a splash in the industry by bringing on the magnetic presence of Jr. NTR.

    MS Education Academy

NTR and the ETV organisation have a long history of collaboration. Ramoji Rao, the owner of ETV, actually produced NTR’s debut film, Ninnu Choodalani. With such a strong bond between them, NTR is likely to accept this exciting new opportunity.

However, with such a hectic schedule, it is unclear how NTR will fit this show into his already packed schedule. We’ll have to wait for a formal confirmation to find out if this exciting collaboration will take place. Meanwhile, the prospect of Jr. NTR enthralling audiences with his commanding presence and oratory skills is simply thrilling.

Days before Karnataka polls, ‘Tipu’ film announced; to show ‘dark side’ of Mysuru sultan

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: Days before the Karnataka Assembly polls, where the name of Tipu Sultan keeps getting invoked by his right-wing critics, the makers of ‘Tipu’, the film, have announced that their feature will present a “different side” of the king of Mysuru.

Tipu Sultan, till the BJP questioned the narrative, was known as a freedom fighter, an able administrator and the man who introduced India to rocketry. For some years now, the BJP in Karnataka has made a political issue out of Tipu’s record of forced conversions, which is exactly what the film seeks to highlight.

The BJP’s north-east strategist, adviser to the Manipur Chief Minister and well-known author and TV commentator Rajat Sethi has done the research for the film.

    MS Education Academy

The film’s director, Pawan Sharma, said: “What we are taught in school about Tipu Sultan is gross misinformation. I stood absolutely shaken and disillusioned to know his reality as a bigoted king. Through my film I am daring to show a brutal reality that has been manipulated just for us to take him to be a warrior hero.”

He added: “Tipu Sultan’s Islamic fanaticism was much worse than that of his father Hyder Ali Khan’s. He was a Hitler of that era.”

Sethi added: “While history has been unkind to many heroes, it has mischievously ignored the tyranny of many others. Tipu is one such historical figure whose adulation and admiration is overrated, while his cruelties have been neatly concealed in our textbooks.

“Not only history, but popular culture – movies, theatres, etc. – have also systematically ignored a realistic and balanced portrayal of Tipu. This movie is a humble attempt to initiate a course correction on his narrative.”

Producer Sandeep Singh, who has been behind films such as ‘PM Narendra Modi’, ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’, ‘Atal’ or ‘Bal Shivaji’, said: “This is the cinema I personally believe in. My films stand for truth… I was brainwashed into believing him to be a braveheart as shown in our history textbooks. But nobody knows his malevolent side. I want to expose his dark side for the future generation.”

Backed by Eros International, Rashmi Sharma Films and Sandeep Singh, ‘Tipu’ will have a multilingual release in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil Telugu and Malayalam.

Dubai police records show decline in crime rates in Q1 2023

    [ad_1]

Abu Dhabi: Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai police, has chaired a performance evaluation meeting of the General Department of Criminal Investigation for the first quarter of the current year.

The meeting was attended by Major General Expert Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, Major General Jamal Salem Al Jallaf, Director of the General Department of Criminal Investigation, and other senior officials.

Al Marri praised the efforts of the General Department of Criminal Investigation in maintaining security and safety, which led to a 25 percent reduction in alarming reports in Q1 2023 compared to the same period last year.

    MS Education Academy

The number of known reports in Q1 2023 increased by 97 per cent compared to Q1 2022, and the number of reports rescored against unknown decreased by 14 per cent in Q1 2023 compared to the same period in 2022. Non-alarming criminal reports also declined by 7.1 per cent in Q1 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.

During the meeting, Colonel Rashed Bin Dhaboui, Director of the Criminal Control Department, presented a report on police efficiency and crime prediction in Q1 2023 compared to Q1 2022. The report highlighted the results achieved by the General Department of Criminal Investigations in implementing developmental and strategic plans to achieve desired objectives and indicators in reducing alarming crime rates, rapidly handling reports, reducing crimes in specific areas, and forming effective task forces.

Bin Dhaboui also explained the most critical cases handled and the reasons that led to the decrease in crime rates in cooperation with Dubai police stations, as well as predicting crime and emerging criminal methods using artificial intelligence techniques.

Major General Al Jallaf emphasised that the periodic meetings chaired by the Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police contribute to enhancing performance efficiency, discussing future projects, and addressing potential obstacles. He added that these meetings follow an integrated methodology to evaluate the department’s quarterly results within a specific timeline, allowing an insight into the directions that determine the department’s goals and methods for evaluating results compared to previous years.

  • Controversy over ‘religious symbols’ at laser show in Assam’s Rang Ghar

Controversy over ‘religious symbols’ at laser show in Assam’s Rang Ghar

    [ad_1]

Guwahati: Controversy erupted in Assam after “religious symbols” were seen in laser show projections at the Ahom era amphitheatre Rang Ghar in Sivasagar district.

The district administration, however, claimed it was a “misunderstanding” caused over some clips during a trial run and the final cut was approved after consultation with different stakeholders.

The Rang Ghar is among 13 iconic monuments across the country where the Ministry of Culture has planned state-of-the-art projection mapping shows to mark the 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on Sunday.

    MS Education Academy

The shows will showcase the historic, architectural importance and the distinctiveness of the region, highlighting the diversity of India as a country, on the lines of diverse topics and themes addressed by the PM in his broadcast, a government official had said.

As the laser show planned at Rang Ghar was tested on Friday night, the use of some purported religious symbols drew sharp reactions from different political parties and organisations.

Leader of Opposition in state assembly, Debabrata Saikia, said the amphitheatre is a pride of the Assamese community and has been a performance arena showcasing the state’s culture.

“No party should be allowed to use it for political benefit or display its own symbols,” the Congress leader added.

Sivasagar MLA and Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi said he has written to the chief minister, top ASI officials and the deputy commissioner (DC) regarding the matter.

He claimed a meeting was held at the DC’s intervention with the ASI officials, and the controversial parts have been cut off from the final show.

“The Rang Ghar can be used for portraying the rich history of our state, without any communal colour,” Gogoi asserted.

Assam Jatiya Parishad president Lurinjyoti Gogoi also objected to the use of “religious symbols” and said, “Rang Ghar has its own colour, it symbolises Assam and its unity. We will not tolerate the use of any religious symbols for it.”.

The Raijor Dal, Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti and Tai Ahom Yuba Parishad staged protests in front of the historic monument, demanding deletion of the controversial parts.

A top district official maintained that the controversy arose from a “misunderstanding” and all matters have been sorted out.

“The private party that will run the show had done a dry run of the proposed laser show last night. Later, some parties and organisations objected to certain clips. Those have been removed from the final show that has been approved,” he said.

“Light and sound shows are organised at the Rang Ghar on different occasions and there has never been an issue,” the official maintained.

  • In rare show of unanimity, Security Council slams Taliban ban on UN women workers

In rare show of unanimity, Security Council slams Taliban ban on UN women workers

    [ad_1]

United Nations: Ahead of an international meeting convened by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on dealing with the Taliban, the Security Council in a rare show of unanimity has voted unanimously to condemn the regime’s ban on women working for the world organisation in Afghanistan.

The Council resolution adopted on Thursday also expressed “deep concern at the increasing erosion of respect for the human rights and fundamental freedoms of women and girls” and demanded that the Taliban “swiftly reverse” the restrictions placed on them.

Special representatives for Afghanistan from several countries are scheduled to convene on May 1-2 in Doha for the meeting to be chaired by Guterres to work out a united approach to deal with the Taliban.

    MS Education Academy

India was one of about 20 countries from Europe, Asia, the Middle East and North America invited to the meeting.

The unanimous adoption of the Council resolution proposed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Japan and co-sponsored by about 90 countries underlines the Taliban regime’s isolation and signals international unity before the Doha meeting.

The UAE’s Permanent Representative Lana Zaki Nusseibeh said: “This cross-regional support makes our fundamental message today even more significant: the world will not sit by silently as women in Afghanistan are erased from society.

“The resolution also makes it clear that stability, economic recovery, and political reconciliation is not possible in Afghanistan without the inclusion of Afghan women and girls.”

The US Alternate Representative for Special Political Affairs Robert Wood called the Taliban’s edicts on women “indefensible” and said, “Muslim-majority countries have spoken out against the Taliban’s rationale for these decisions”.

The Taliban invokes the Islamic Sharia law to justify its actions.

“In January, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation emphasized that Islamic law calls for women’s education, work, and participation in public life,” Wood said.

The Taliban extended its ban to about 600 Afghan women working for the UN earlier this month.

In protest, the UN asked all its employees — about 2,700 Afghan men and 600 international workers, including 200 women who were exempt from the ban — to stay home, disrupting the humanitarian work in the country.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Russia’s Permanent Representative Vassily Nebenzia, who presided over the Council meeting said: “We are happy that we were unanimous, but we were not completely happy because there is the resolution did not reflect all the issues relating to Afghanistan.”

Russia’s reservation, also shared by China, was that the resolution did not demand that the US release the $7 billion Afghan Central Bank money frozen by it after the August 2021 Taliban takeover of the war-torn nation.

Washington has set up a $3.5 billion trust fund for Afghanistan out of the frozen accounts in Switzerland to allow some of it to be used for that country.

  • Jerry Springer Show: his most outrageous TV moments

Jerry Springer Show: his most outrageous TV moments

    [ad_1]

During his 27-year run as a TV host, Jerry Springer became synonymous with a few tropes: the paternity test, the bleeped-out swearing, the security guards always ready to break up a fight. Nearly every one of his 4,000 episodes could be considered explosive, but there are a few moments that surpass even the wackiest standards of tabloid TV.

After his death on Thursday at the age of 79, there is no better time to look back at the craziest Jerry Springer moments of all time.

You Slept With My Stripper Sister!

Let’s start with a 2011 clip that has everything: one family member revealing a “secret” to another, a cheating boyfriend, and, yes, a stripper sister. The unassuming woman tells Springer upfront that she knows whatever her sister has to reveal to her “can’t be good”, because we all know how this goes. But, to be fair, her sister has a history of sleeping with the woman’s exes. When she comes onstage and lets her sister know that she bedded her boyfriend after a night at the club and apologizes, there is the requisite slapping and hair-pulling. Things only get worse when the boyfriend tries to say he’s sorry, but ends up slapped as well.

    Confronting a Racist Family

‘I feel sorry for you’: Jerry Springer confronts antisemitic priest – video

Springer often hosted racists and Ku Klux Klan members on his show – and as the son of Jewish-German refugees who fled the Nazis, the subject was quite personal to him. In 1995, he told an antisemitic priest, “I don’t hate you, I feel sorry for you.” When the priest went into a Holocaust-denial rant, Springer told him to “shut your face”, which almost led to blows.

‘I Slept With 251 Men in 10 Hours!

In 1995, Springer spoke to Annabel Chong, a 22-year-old porn actor who took part in the “world’s biggest gangbang”. Despite the predictable slut-shaming that took place (“Are you ever going to be able to love a man?” Springer asked), Chong spoke of the experience as an empowering reversal of gender norms. “Why not?” she said of her decision. After some years in the industry, Chong went on to work in software development – and left her record behind. It was broken by Jasmin St Clair, who also went on Jerry Springer to discuss the feat.

    ‘I Married A Horse

In 2004, Springer introduced the world to Mark, a Missouri farmer and zoophile who introduced a truly disgusted audience to his wife, a horse named Pixel. “I had to earn her love and respect,” Mark said in a voiceover, while showing off photos he had taken of Pixel wearing women’s underwear (with a hole cut in the bum for her tail). “As far as sex goes, we make love. We don’t fool around on each other.” Springer would later tell Meredith Viera that he did not know what Mark was going to reveal on the show, which explains why he felt physically ill on-air.

‘Married to Your Dad But Want You Back

In a love story of Shakespearean proportions, a Montana woman fell in love with a California man, who apparently walked 1,200 miles to be with her (he didn’t have a car). When they broke up, she ended up with his father, who she had a child with – her ex-husband’s younger sister. But regret nagged at the woman so much that she tried to reunite with the son on Springer’s show. He declined.

    “Zack … the 70lb Baby”

A rare happy ending for a Springer guest: in 1996, baby Zack Strenkert made headlines for his size and weight. (He was later diagnosed with Simpson Golabi Behmel Syndrome, which causes overgrowth.) His parents lived an unconventional life, putting their infant in adult diapers, but it didn’t matter. “Wouldn’t change him for the world,” his father said during his first appearance on the show. Strenkert returned to the show as an adult, saying he was happy and working as a competitive gamer.
