Will resign if proven I dialled Shah over TMC’s national status: Mamata

    [ad_1]

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday said she will resign if it is proven that she dialled Union Home Minister Amit Shah after the Trinamool Congress lost the national party status.

Banerjee, who was speaking to reporters at West Bengal’s state secretariat, said that her party’s name will remain the All India Trinamool Congress.

“I will resign if it is proven that I called up Amit Shah over TMC’s national party status,” she said, rejecting Bengal’s leader of opposition Suvendu Adhikari’s claim that she had made the call.

    MS Education Academy

Adhikari on Tuesday claimed that Banerjee had dialled Shah after the Election Commission revoked TMC’s national party status to request him to repeal the decision.

Banerjee asked will the BJP leader resign if his claims are proven wrong.

She said the media will get defamation notices if they do not cross-check before running what BJP leaders are claiming.

The TMC supremo said, “It was the norm to review the national party status of all parties after 10 years. That would mean the next review should have been in 2026 But they did it in 2019.”

“My party’s name will remain the ‘All India Trinamool Congress’. If the BJP has any problem, they can approach the Election Commission and we will approach the common people,” she thundered.

The ECI withdrew the national party status of the TMC, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) last week.

Reacting to Adhikari’s assertion, TMC on Tuesday also said there is not even an iota of truth in it.

“Suvendu Adhikari is a habitual liar. We have seen how he has earlier brazenly lied about several political developments. Having a national party status or not is notional, it does not impact the growth of the TMC,” party spokesperson Kunal Ghosh had said.

Banerjee said she has asked for the resignation of Shah who asserted that if the BJP wins 35 plus seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha seats from West Bengal, the Mamata Banerjee government will not survive beyond 2025.

” I demand the resignation of Shah for misusing his constitutional post and breaking the federal structure of our country, through attempts to topple a democratically-elected government,” she said.

Taking on the BJP, Banerjee claimed that it will not be able to get more than 200 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

“Will they use ED, CBI, BSF, CRPF and other such agencies to manipulate elections? We don’t even know what is going on with the Electronic Voting Machines,” she said.

The TMC chief described the BJP as the “biggest corrupt party” and said that “instead of questioning others, they should first respond to the Vyapam Scam.

“Whenever elections approach, BJP leaders bring the same old narrative of CAA-NRC, Pulwama and other fake and false stories. These are old tactics,” she said.

She also alleged that BJP has the money to spread fake news and urged people not to trust them.

The chief minister said that the state administration will look into the missing complaint filed by veteran politician Mukul Roy’s son Subhrangshu about his father.

Roy, who his family says is suffering from dementia and Parkinson’s disease, surfaced dramatically in Delhi after the missing person complaint was filed, and claimed that he is a “BJP MP and MLA” and wants to meet Amit Shah.

“Mukul Roy is BJP’s MLA, it’s his affair if he wants to go to Delhi,” Banerjee said.

Roy had won the 2021 West Bengal assembly elections on a BJP ticket after defecting from TMC, but had later crossed back to the party he helped found complaining of ill-treatment at the hands of the saffron party’s leadership.

To a query on the non-BJP parties uniting for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Banerjee said they will “come together” before the polls.

“We believe that silence is golden, hence we are all quiet now. But before the polls, we will come together like a tornado,” she said.

On the CBI collecting partially burnt documents from an open field in Bhangar in South 24 Parganas district, Banerjee questioned the authenticity of the documents and whether the entire matter was planted or not.

Amit Shah has given 7-point programme for Mumbai BJP, says Shelar

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: Union Minister Amit Shah has given the Bharatiya Janata Party a seven-point programme to implement in Mumbai, the party’s metropolis unit chief Ashish Shelar said on Sunday.

Shah, among the key strategists of the BJP, arrived in Mumbai late Saturday evening and had chaired a meeting with the core committee of the Mumbai BJP where he also reviewed organisational works, Shelar told reporters.

“Shah gave us a seven-point programme to implement to serve Mumbaikars better. The core committee meeting was convened in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, state unit president Chandrashekhar Bawankule and others,” Shelar said.

Civic polls in several cities in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, are due since early 2022 but were not held because of the COVID-19 pandemic. These civic bodies are under administrators at present.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation was ruled by the Shiv Sena, which split in June last year into factions led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, an ally of the BJP, and former CM Uddhav Thackeray.

Mood set in Telangana in favour of BJP: Amit Shah

    [ad_1]

Panaji: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said the mood of people is in favour of BJP Telangana as well as in Odisha.

“The BJP will form a government again in Karnataka,” Shah said addressing a public meeting in south Goa where he kicked off the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign for 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

He referred to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s remarks on BJP’s victory in “small states” of Goa and Uttarakhand earlier and said Kharge shouldn’t insult small states.

    MS Education Academy

Shah also said Congress was wiped out in recent polls in the Northeast after Rahul Gandhi campaigned for the party.

He said the Congress always considered Northeastern states as their stronghold due to a sizeable minority population in these states, but the outcome of recent polls favoured BJP.

“I saw the mood of people in favour of BJP in Odisha and Telangana. I want to tell Kharge ji and Rahul baba that the BJP will form a government in Karnataka again,” he added.

Shah said when BJP won elections in small states like Goa, Uttarakhand, and in the Northeast, Kharge said these are small states.

“They are small states but they are important states of the country. Khargeji should not insult small states,” Shah added.

He said small states are important parts of the country and it is the policy of the Modi government to have a “bigger responsibility towards small states”.

“Small states are the ‘dharohar’ of our country and they are as much important as big states. The smaller the state, the bigger the responsibility of the Centre to work for its development. This is the policy of the Modi government,” Shah said.

Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi, Shah said after ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, Rahul Gandhi undertook a full-fledged campaign in the Northeast elections, but the Congress party was wiped out from these states and people gave their mandate in favour of the BJP.

He said BJP has won a full majority in Tripura elections while 13 MLAs of the saffron party were elected in Nagaland. “The government in Meghalaya was formed with the support of BJP,” the home minister added.

Shah said the people of the Northeast have given a clear message that this country should be ruled by a party which can provide security, peace and development to the people.

Pilot’s contribution to Congress less compared to Gehlot: Shah in Rajasthan

    [ad_1]

Bharatpur: Targeting the Congress in Rajasthan over infighting, Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday claimed the party will always give precedence to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot over Sachin Pilot as his contribution is higher in filling its coffers with the “corruption” money from the state.

“Pilot sits on dharna on any pretext but his number will not come because his contribution in filling the coffers of Congress party is less and Gehlot’s contribution is higher,” Shah said while addressing booth-level party workers meeting in Bharatpur.

Gehlot has made the Rajasthan government an “‘adda’ (hub) of corruption and has looted the state. This money of corruption has gone to the coffers of the Congress party,” the BJP leader alleged.

    MS Education Academy

On the acquittal of the accused in the 2008 Jaipur bomb blast case, Shah alleged that the Congress government did not present proper arguments in the high court due to vote bank politics.

“The government is doing vote bank politics on the deaths of blast victims,” he alleged.

He that it is “a 3-D government in Rajasthan and three Ds stands for ‘dange’ (riots), ‘durvyavhar’ (ill-treatment) with women and ‘Dalit’ atrocities.

People “will vote out the government in elections,” Shah said and exuded confidence that the BJP will form the government with a 2/3 majority in assembly elections and will again win all 25 seats in Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan.

He said that the BJP will go to elections on the basis of the work of the Modi government, the party ideology and the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government is one of the most corrupt governments in the history of Rajasthan. People are fed up,” he claimed.

Amit Shah advices Bengal BJP to be ‘Aatmanirbhar’ ahead of polls

    [ad_1]

Kolkata: Before leaving for Delhi after completion of his two-day visit to West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday outlined the strategy to be adopted for the forthcoming panchayat elections and next year’s Lok Sabha polls by the state unit of the BJP.

According to party sources, of the many pieces of advice given by Shah, the main is that the party’s state leadership should be more self-reliant by bridging the organisational gaps and shed excessive dependence on the BJP high-command.

Party insiders said that the Home Minister has specifically asked the BJP to start the process of strengthening the booth-level committees and reactivating the defunct ones before the panchayat polls scheduled this year.

    MS Education Academy

“Amit Shah has clearly said that if the process starts from the panchayat polls, the goal of having a full-fledged and strong booth-level network will be completed before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls,” said a state committee member of the BJP.

While admitting that Shah has outlined the strategy to be adopted for the forthcoming polls, BJP’s state unit chief and Lok Sabha member Sukanta Majumdar, however, refused to reveal the details of the discussions held with the Home Minister.

“These are closed-door affairs and cannot be revealed to the media,” Majumdar said.

Meanwhile, party sources said that although Shah is not against roping in leaders and workers from other parties, he has clearly instructed that only individuals with an overall clean-image should be allowed entry into the BJP.

“Shah has also specifically said that the state BJP leadership should ensure that they get maximum mileage from the growing grievances of the people against the state government and the ruling Trinamool Congress, besides ensuring that the Left Front-Congress alliance does not get the advantage of the anti-incumbency factor,” the state committee member said.

As per party sources, Shah also said that clean image, loyalty to the party and acceptability among the people should be the primary considerations in selecting candidates for the forthcoming panchayat polls.

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Fan’ clocks 7 years, check out interesting facts about the film

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: Superstar Shah Rukh Khan does not shy away from experimenting with roles. He began his tinsel-town journey with Deewana in 1992 and went on to portray a gamut of characters. He even tried his hand at playing a dual role in films and ‘Fan’ is one of them.

Helmed by Maneesh Sharma, ‘Fan’ came out in theatres in 2016.

The film did not work at the box office but the audience and critics laud the actor for bringing something different to the table.

SRK plays two roles in Fan, one enabled by the use of makeup and CGI. The story follows Gaurav (Shah Rukh), a young man whose world revolves around the mega movie star Aryan Khanna (also Shah Rukh) or God as he refers to him. From Delhi, young Gaurav embarks on a journey to the city of dreams, Mumbai, in order to wish his God a happy birthday. When things don’t go according to plan, Gaurav’s love and passion for Khanna become a dangerous obsession.

As ‘Fan’ completed seven years since it was released, let’s revisit some interesting facts about the film.

The film’s logo was made up of 100 pictures of real-life fans of Shah Rukh. Basically, it comprises profile photos of over 100 lucky fans, who won a contest that the entire team had run before the release of the film.

The film had no songs. The team only made one promotional song called ‘Jabra Fan’
If you are an SRK fan, then don’t forget to do Jabra hook step on the completion of the film’s seven years.

The Mannat you see in the movie is not, in reality, SRK’s house. The makers wanted to feature SRK’s mansion Mannat in the film but due to security reasons, the mansion was recreated in Film City.

If reports are to be believed, Fan is the first ever Bollywood film to be shot in Madame Tussauds Museum, London.

It was not easy to get the look of Gaurav, a man in his 20s. Apparently, he had to undergo 3D scanning in the US. International make-up artist Greg Cannom created the desired look of Gaurav in the film.

Some scenes for the film included real footage that was shot for SRK’s birthday in 2014 and 2015.

Prior to ‘Fan’, SRK played a double role in ‘Duplicate’, ‘Paheli’ and ‘Don’ among others.
