    Hyderabad: The South Central Railway will operate four special trains between Secunderabad and Banaras to clear rush of passengers during Ganga Pushkaram.

    These trains will operate from April 29 and May 5. On April 29. The special Ganga Pushkaram trains will depart from Secunderabad at 9.40 p.m. and reach Banaras 06.30 a.m. on May 1. In the return direction, the train will depart from Banaras at 08.35 a.m on May 1 and reach Secunderabad at 6.15 p.m. on May 2.

    The second special train from Secunderabad will depart at 9.40 p.m. on May 3 and reach Banaras at 06.30 a.m. on May 5. The pairing train will depart from Banaras at 8.35 a.m. on May 5 and reach Secunderabad at 6.15 p.m. on May 6.

    These special trains will stop at Jangaon, Kazipet, Peddapalli, Ramage dampener, Bellampalli, Sirpurkagazhnagar, Balharshah, Nagpur, Italian, Pipariya, Jabalpur, Katni junction, Santa, Manipur and Prayagraj Chheoki stations in both the directions.

    Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR launched 18 special trains between April 22 and May 9 for various locations in Telangana to to clear the rush of passengers during the Ganga Pushkaram festival.

    The festival of river Ganga usually occurs once in 12 years. Booking for the trains will begin on April 21, said a press release from SCR.

    Secunderabad – Raxaul – Secunderabad

    The SCR release stated that train No. 07007 (Secunderabad-Raxaul) and train No.07008 (Raxaul-Secunderabad) will stop at Bolarum, Medchal, Akanapet, Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Mudkhed, Nanded, Purna, Baumar, Hingoli Deccan, Washim Akola, Bhusawal Khandwa In Itarsi Ja, Pipariya, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Check In P. DD Upadhyaya, Buxar, Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi In in both the directions.

    SCR said these special trains will consist of AC II Tier, AC III Tier, AC 2 Tier cum AC 3 Ter, Sleeper and General Second-Class matches.

    Tirupati – Danapur – Tirupati

    Whereas, Train No.97419 Tirupati-Danapur and Danapur- Tirupati, these trains will stop at Resigua, God, Nellor, Ongule, Chirala, Tall Khammam, Warangal, Peddapalli, Ramagundam, Bellampalli, Sirpur Kaphanage, Nagra Pipariya, Jabalpur, Kani, Sata, Manikper, Prayagaj Chheski J, P. DO Upedyaya, Bar and Ara In stations in both the direction

    These trains will consist of AC II Tier, AC III Tier, AC 2 Tier com AC 3 The Sperand General Second-Class coaches.

    Guntur – Banaras – Guntur

    Similarly, train No. 07230 Guntur-Banaras and train No. 07229 Banaras-Guntur, these trains will stop at Vijayawada, Gudivada, Kaikalur, Bhimavaram Town, Tanuku, Nidadavolu, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Tuni, Anakapalle, Duvvada, Kottavalasa, Vizianagaram, Rayagada, Muniguda, Titlagarh, Blangir, Bargarh Road, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Hatia, Ranchi, Muri, Barkakana, Lateher, Daltonganj, Garwaroad, Dehri on son, Sasaram, Bhabua Road, Pt. DD Upadhyaya and Varanasi stations in both directions.

    These will consist of AC II Tier, AC III Tier, AC 3 Tier Economy and Sleeper Class coaches.

    Hyderabad: B Nagya, a senior railway official from the 1989 batch of Indian Railway Traffic Service took charge as Principal Chief Operations Manager of South Central Railway (SCR) at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad on Monday.

    A native of Kodad, Suryapet, Nagya did his B.Tech from NIT-Warangal in Civil Engineering and M.Tech from IIT-Delhi.

    He worked as Principal Chief Commercial Manager, East Coast Railway, Bhubaneswar, Chief Freight Transportation Manager (CFTM), Chief Passenger Transportation Manager (CPTM) and Chief Transport Planning Manager (CTPM) on SCR prior to his appointment.

    He also has experience working as Chief Freight Transportation Manager (CFTM) on South Western Railway.

    During his Railway service, he discharged deputation to Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) as executive director of the coal movement for nearly 5 years.

    Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) on Tuesday appealed to the public not to indulge in anti-social activities such as stone pelting on trains after instances of the same on trains including Vande Bharat Express took place across different locations under its jurisdiction.

    Some of the vulnerable sections (of stone pelting) have been Kazipet Khammam, Kazipet Bhongir and Eluru Rajahmundry, a press release from SCR said adding in recent times, Vande Bharat trains were targeted by miscreants and nine such incidents have been reported since January this year.

    Stone pelting on trains is a criminal offence and stringent action will be taken against the perpetrators under Section 153 of the Railways Act, which is punishable with imprisonment which may extend up to 5 years, it said.

    So far 39 offenders were arrested by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) after several cases were registered.

    Some of the stone pelting incidents also involved children aged between 6 and 17 years. Therefore, it is the responsibility of every parent, teacher, and elders in the society to counsel, educate and guide children to desist from such activities, the SCR said.

    Such instances have not only led to precious damage of public property but also led to the rescheduling of the train, besides as many as five passengers were seriously injured as a result of being hit by stones, it said.

    SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain appealed to the public to refrain from indulging in such unlawful activities which damage national property and causes serious injuries to passengers.

    The Railway Protection Force is also undertaking several preventive measures including awareness campaigns and coordinating with Sarpanches of villages near tracks and making them village mitras’, SCR Chief Public Relations Officer Ch Rakesh said.

    In addition, the staff have also been deployed in all stone pelting black spots, the release added.

    Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) plans on introducing more trains between Secunderabad and Bengaluru, following the completion of electrification between Gadwal-Kurnool stations for a distance of 54 km. This enables the continuous electrified railway line facility from Secunderabad to Dharmavaram.

    The section between Gadwal – Kurnool city stations has been electrified as part of Dhone – Kurnool City-Mahabubnagar; Secunderabad – Mudkhed – Manmad electrification project.

    “The portion between Secunderabad – Mahabubnagar has already been electrified as part of a separate project. The sections between Mahabubnagar – Gadwal & Kurnool city- Dhone have already been completed under this project. The electrification of sections between Dhone – Gooty Dharmavaram of SCR and Dharmavaram Bengaluru City of SWR has also been completed,” according to a press statement on Monday.

    Passenger and freight trains can now seamlessly travel from Hyderabad Dharmavaram. This project was taken up under the revised sanction of Rs 916.07 Crores in the year 2018-19.

    Hyderabad: To curb unauthorized travel and curtail inconvenience to bonafide rail users, a nine membered team of the South Central Railways (SCR) has collected a record fine of Rs 9.62 crore in a ticket-checking drive.

    The team members collected a record fine of Rs 1 crore from commuters travelling without tickets, irregular travellers and un-booked luggage.

    As many as 1.16 lakh commuters were checked in the current financial year 2022-23.

    The staff include seven from the Secunderabad division and one each from Guntakal and Vijayawada divisions.

    Chief ticket inspector of Secunderabad division T. Natarajan is the highest earner who collected an amount of Rs 1.16 crores from 12,689 passengers.

    General manager of SCR Arun Kumar Jain commended the ticket-checking staff for their exemplary performance and dedication while appealing to the rail passengers to travel with valid railway tickets and travel authorities.

    “Ticket checking is one of the critical mechanisms which helps in reducing unauthorized travel in trains while also building confidence among genuine rail passengers,” added the manager.

    Hyderabad: The South Central Railways registered great success after collecting a revenue of Rs 200.17 crore in ticket checking in the current fiscal year.

    In a release from the SCR department here on Saturday, it praised the department for achieving a milestone in registering 28.27 lakh cases booked against irregular travel and unbooked luggage.

    The previous revenue earned was Rs 154.29 crore in the year 2019-20.

    The release said that different measures have been taken to improve passenger traffic by convenient ways of purchasing tickets through UTS mobile app, ATVM machines near booking counters, and displaying QR codes.

    “The SCR has earned the highest ever passenger revenue of Rs 4825.72 crores besides the highest revenue in ticket checking,” the release stated.

    SCR general manager Arun Kumar Jain congratulated the entire commercial wing along with officers and staff. “Ticket checking is a solid mechanism which helps in curtailing irregular travel besides improving a positive image of the Railways,” he said.

    Hyderabad: South Central railway (SCR) has crossed a milestone on Wednesday by achieving 122.628 MTS of freight loading surpassing its previous best of 122.498 MTs loading. Compared to the last year, SCR’s the current years freight loading SCR is 12% higher.

    Amongst all zonal railways in terms of incremental freight traffic achieved, SCR stood in the second place during the current financial year, said a press release.

    Coal continues to be the largest segment contributing 62.195 in this of loading followed by cement, in terms of commodities. Some other major commodities are, food grains with 6.731MTs, fertilizers with 7.561 MTs, RMSP with 4.181MTs, iron ore with 1.45 MTs while petroleum products and other loading goods amount it for 8.672 MTs of containers.

    Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) on Saturday informed that Vande Bharat Express receives the highest footfall from the city of Warangal in its service between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam.

    “On an average 101 persons have boarded Vande Bharat Express daily from Warangal station, while another 133 passengers have got down the train daily at Warangal Station,” said SCR general manager, Arun Kumar Jain.

    During the last one month, 2,046 passengers have traveled from Secunderabad to Warangal Station using the train while 704 passengers traveled from Warangal to Secunderabad.

    1,806 passengers traveled from Visakhapatnam to Warangal and 2,211 traveled to the stations in Khammam, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam.

    The Vande Bharat Express train service was introduced on January 15, and it runs between Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam. The train stops at four intermediate stations – Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada and Rajahmundry.

    In the one month since the start of the service, it has received a huge response from the public, according to a press release from South Central Railway (SCR).

    Hyderabad: The South Central Railway has completed the Vikarabad-Parli Vaijnath electrification project, which covers Telangana, Karnataka, and Maharashtra.

    The final stretch of the project between Latur Road-Parli Vaijnath, a distance of 63.75 km, has been commissioned, marking the completion of the entire project.

    With this, the entire section of 268 km, covering around 90 km in Telangana, 62 km in Karnataka, and 116 km in Maharashtra states now stands electrified.

    Vikarabad-Parli Vaijnath electrification project was sanctioned in 2018-19 at an estimated cost of Rs 244 crore.

    The stretch between Vikarabad-Kohir Deccan (a distance of 45 km) was commissioned in March 2021 and the stretch between Kohir Deccan-Khanapur (60.5 kms was completed in January 2022. Later, a 98.75 km stretch between Khanapur-Latur Road was electrified in October 2022. Now, the last stretch of the project has been completed.

    The SCR said the trains in the entire section can now be operated with electric traction on end to end basis. This is one of the important sections handling trains between southern part of India and towards Aurangabad, Shirdi and Pune among others.

    To achieve “Mission Electrification”, the electrification of the railway lines is being done on a war footing basis to complete 100 per cent electrification of the SCR network. Electrification of railway lines will pave the way for environment friendly means of transportation by replacing diesel traction with electric traction. It also helps in seamless movement of freight and passenger traffic, besides reducing the enroute detentions. The fuel expenditure will be drastically reduced by reducing diesel consumption.

    SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain complimented the officials of the electrical wing of both headquarters and Secunderabad Division for completing the entire Vikarabad- Parli electrification project within the stipulated time.
