On April Fools’ Day, Bandi Sanjay mocks KCR’s unemployment allowance promise

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: On April Fools’ Day, Bandi Sanjay, the Telangana BJP president, took a dig at Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s unemployment allowance promise. Sanjay shared KCR’s photograph and sarcastically wrote, “Unemployed youth will be given ₹3016 allowance – CM KCR. If you believed that, Happy April Fools Day!”

This statement comes at a time when the BJP is leaving no stone unturned to target KCR ahead of the upcoming assembly polls in Telangana.

    Telangana unemployment allowance

The unemployment allowance scheme was promised by KCR during the 2018 assembly polls when he sought a second term for the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

The scheme aims to provide Rs 3,016 per month to unemployed youths across the state.

BJP aims to win maximum seats in Assembly polls in Telangana

The BJP is leaving no stone unturned to win a maximum number of seats in the upcoming assembly polls in Telangana.

In the last assembly polls in 2018, the TRS won a resounding mandate, winning 88 out of 119 seats, while the Congress had to settle for just 19. The BJP could only manage to win a single seat.

However, their hopes increased after their performance in the GHMC elections.

The BJP’s constant targeting of KCR’s promises, including the unemployment allowance scheme, seems to be a part of their strategy to gain more votes in the upcoming polls.

  • AAP will appeal in Delhi HC for Sisodia’s bail: Sanjay Singh

AAP will appeal in Delhi HC for Sisodia’s bail: Sanjay Singh

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh said Friday the party will move the Delhi High Court after a city court denied bail to former minister Manish Sisodia in an excise policy scam case.

Eight people involved in this matter were granted bail, two of whom even received anticipatory bail, but Sisodia’s bail application was wholly rejected, he said.

The MP called the decision “shocking” and said the party would appeal against it in the high court.

“We respect the judiciary and the courts, but the Constitution gives us the right to agree and disagree with the judgments of the judiciary, as well as the right to appeal against them. Anyone who sees this order will see the truth,” he said.

He urged the judiciary to reconsider its decision and emphasised the importance of upholding the principles of justice and fairness.

A Delhi court dismissed the bail plea of former Deputy Chief Minister Sisodia in the excise policy scam case of CBI, saying he was “prima facie the architect” and played the “most important and vital role” in the criminal conspiracy relating to alleged payment of advance kickbacks of around Rs 90-100 crore, meant for him and his colleagues in the Delhi government.

Observing that the release of Sisodia, who is in custody since February 26 in the case, at the moment will “adversely affect the ongoing investigation”, special CBI judge M K Nagpal said.

The CBI arrested Sisodia in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22 after several rounds of questioning.

  • Riots on Ram Navami were government-sponsored: Sanjay Raut

Riots on Ram Navami were government-sponsored: Sanjay Raut

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: The communal clashes that took place in Maharashtra and elsewhere on Ram Navami were “government-sponsored”, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut claimed on Friday, adding that the state government wanted to use the tensions as a pretext to deny permission to a rally of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).

Clashes took place between different groups in the Aurangabad city of central Maharashtra as well as in the Malvani area of Mumbai on Thursday.

“These are government-sponsored riots. There is a BJP government in Maharashtra and Gujarat, and there were riots (in both states). When Uddhav Thackeray was chief minister, there were no riots and Ram Navami was celebrated (peacefully) during that time,” Raut told reporters here.

“This is why the Supreme Court said the government is impotent and riots are proof of that,” he added.

The government engineered tensions as it was fearing defeat in the coming elections and was nervous seeing the widespread support received by Uddhav Thackeray, he alleged.

Raut also claimed that the Eknath Shinde-led government wanted to deny permission to the April 2 rally of the MVA (coalition of Shiv Sena (UBT), NCP and Congress) in Sambhajinagar (Aurangabad) citing law and order problems following the riots.

The government was vitiating the atmosphere, and Devendra Fadnavis’s presence as home minister was nowhere felt, Raut further said.

TSPSC paper leakage case: SIT summons Bandi Sanjay for second time

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The sleuths of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the TSPSC paper leakage case on Saturday served fresh notice to Telangana State BJP Chief Bandi Sanjay at his Banjara Hills residence.

Although SIT served notice to him seeking his appearance on March 24 before the investigating agency, Bandi Sanjay feigned ignorance and denied receiving any notice.

The SIT took cognizance of Sanjay’s statement alleging that several leaders of the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) are involved in the TSPSC exam paper leak that took place over a week ago. He said after obtaining question papers for the TSPSC exams, relatives of chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) managed to get government posts.

In the fresh notice which has been served under CRPC section 91, the SIT has sought Bandi Sanjay’s appearance on March 26 at Himayat Nagar office.

  • ‘Shameful to say KCR’s assistance to farmers will be helpful’, says Bandi Sanjay

‘Shameful to say KCR’s assistance to farmers will be helpful’, says Bandi Sanjay

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Accusing the chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao of being indifferent to crop damage, Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Thursday slammed him for offering only Rs 10,000 per acre as compensation to farmers.

Bandi Sanjay held that the CM should report to the Centre about the crop damage instead of blaming it.

KCR, on the other hand, criticised the BJP-led Central government for showing little concern for farmers and waging political wars while he was conducting an aerial survey of the four rain-affected districts of the state on Thursday to aid financial assistance to farmers whose crops were damaged by unseasonal rains and hailstorms last week.

Puzzled over no visit paid by agriculture or revenue officials to the damaged site, Bandi Sanjay questioned the assessment of crop damage only in 2.22 lakh acres of land and not anywhere else.

The BJP chief further claimed that if the Centre’s ‘Fasal Bima Yojana’ had been implemented in the state then farmers would have received compensation for crop loss.

“However, the CM did not implement the scheme in Telangana for fear of Centre getting the credit,” asserted Bandi Sanjay.

“The amount offered by CM is insufficient. It will not even cover their investment costs. It’s a shame to say that financial assistance would be extremely beneficial,” Sanjay said in a statement.

Bandi Sanjay further said, “It was only because of BJP’s continuous campaigns that KCR was forced to step out of Pragathi Bhavan and his farmhouse to visit fields.”

  • Sanjay Leela Bhansali says NO to work with Ranveer Singh, why?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali says NO to work with Ranveer Singh, why?

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: From Devdas to Bajirao Mastani, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has directed various hit movies which are still the all-time favourites of most Indians. SLB’s movies have a great message and usually rock at the box office. He is one of the successful directors of Hindi cinema.

Bhansali was admired for his recent film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ everywhere and it was reported that he is planning to direct the remake of the 1952 film ‘Baiju Bawra’. The director, according to latest rumours has now dropped the idea of going ahead with the remake of Meena Kumari’s classic ‘Baiju Bawra’ in which Ranveer Singh was all set to play the role.

Rumours mills suggest that SLB is planning to work with Shah Rukh Khan on a new project or he will make ‘Inshallah’ with Salman Khan. As Ranveer Singh’s latest film proved to be a disaster at the box office, SLB might be thinking of bringing the actor on board for his next project. Now, speculations are rife that either Salman or SRK will be seen in the renowned director’s next venture.

A report in ETimes also suggests that the remake of ‘Baiju Bawra’ needed a lot of finance which was not viable for any producer or studio to back it at this point of time when Bollywood is in a state of transition and crisis both.

On the professional front, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently gearing up for the release of his OTT debut series Heeramandi on Netflix.

  • Bandi Sanjay appears before women’s panel

Bandi Sanjay appears before women’s panel

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay on Saturday appeared before State Women’s Commission in response to the notice issued for his derogatory comments against BRS leader K. Kavitha, daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

Taking serious note of the comments, the Commission questioned Sanjay for about two-and-a-half hours. The panel pulled him up and warned him against making such comments in future.

The Commission members reportedly showed Bandi Sanjay videos of his objectionable remarks made against women on various occasions and posed him several questions.

Sanjay, who is also a Member of Parliament, clarified that he did not make any derogatory comments against Kavitha.

It was immediately not clear if the Commission would summon the BJP leader again.

After appearing before the Commission, he told reporters that the remarks he made were a common phrase used in Telangana.

Earlier, there was some tension outside the office of women’s commission as BRS workers staged a protest demanding action against Sanjay.

Women leaders and workers of BJP had also gathered there to defend their state president.

Sanjay had made the remark while targeting Kavitha over the Delhi liquor policy case in which she was recently questioned by the Enforcement Directorate.

The BJP leader’s office defended the statement calling it a common phrase used in Telugu which translated to if someone commits a crime, would you appreciate or punish.

The Commission had summoned Sanjay to appear before it on March 15 but he wrote to the panel on Tuesday that since the Budget Session of the Parliament was in progress and his presence is must, he could not appear on March 15. He requested for permission to appear on March 18.

The Commission on Wednesday responded positively to his request.

The women’s panel had taken suo moto note of the derogatory comment made by Sanjay against Kavitha, who is also a member of Telangana Legislative Council.

The ruling party has taken serious note of Sanjay’s remark and staged protests at various places in the state demanding his apology. BRS leaders also lodged police complaints against Sanjay.

  • Bandi Sanjay summoned by Telangana women’s commission on March 18

Bandi Sanjay summoned by Telangana women’s commission on March 18

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: After summons from the State Commission for Women to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president and MP Bandi Sanjay over his alleged derogatory remarks on Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha, Bandi has requested to adjourn the date to March 18 instead of March 15, as the parliament is in session.

Telangana state women’s commission on Monday had taken suo moto cognizance of Bandi’s remark on the BRS MLC K Kavitha.

Following the summon letter, Sanjay on Tuesday wrote a letter to the Women’s Commission requesting it to postpone the date of his appearance before the body.

He said that “Since the Budget session is going to be held in his presence in the Parliament that is a must, hence I can’t appear before the Commission on Wednesday. I would be available on March 18 at the convenience of the Commission.”

He also requested the Commission to provide details of the case in which he had been issued summons so as to prepare in that direction.

So far, three cases have been registered against Bandi Sanjay for allegedly using defamatory and derogatory comments against Kavitha.

The cases against Bandi Sanjay are registered at the Saroornagar, L. B Nagar and Chaitanyapuri police stations under the Rachakonda police limits.

Bandi Sanjay, while addressing a rally had stated, “Few journalists asked me if Kavitha would be arrested. If or not arrested should Kavitha be kissed?”

His comments did not go down well with the BRS cadres who protested and burnt effigies in the national capital.

  • Hyderabad: 3 cases against Bandi Sanjay for comments on Kavitha

Hyderabad: 3 cases against Bandi Sanjay for comments on Kavitha

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Three cases have been registered against Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana president Bandi Sanjay for allegedly using defamatory and derogatory comments against Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Member of Legislative Council member K Kavitha.

Kavitha had presented herself before the Enforcement Directorate on Saturday, which issued her notice asking her to join a probe with regard to the liquor scam in Delhi. The cases against Bandi Sanjay are registered at the Saroornagar, L. B Nagar and Chaitanyapuri police stations under the Rachakonda police limits.

Speaking on the sidelines of an event at the state BJP office on Wednesday to mark International Women’s Day, Sanjay asked the MLC what the people of Telangana had to do with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam.

Bandi Sanjay during a program on Wednesday had said, “Did Kavitha indulge in an illegal liquor deal for the sake of the Telangana people? Is that ill-gotten money being spent on crop loan waivers or payment of salaries to employees or towards unemployment allowance?” Sanjay asked.

He said while the people of Telangana have never had any reason to bow their heads in shame, they were now forced to do so in the light of Kavitha’s alleged involvement in the liquor policy case. “Kavitha’s wicket is down in the liquor scam and very soon several more in the BRS will be clean bowled. There is no question of sparing those involved in the liquor scam and gambling activities,” Sanjay said.

The BJP state president alleged further that the women in Telangana were being subjected to insults and humiliation in the KCR regime. He accused KCR of not respecting women.

“During his first stint (as CM), there was not a single woman member in his cabinet. He will never make a woman member the party’s president. There is no women’s commission (in Telangana). For KCR, only his daughter Kavitha represents the entire womenfolk,” the BJP leader alleged.

Sanjay’s comments on Kavitha also landed him in a soup with the Telangana State Women’s Commission taking suo moto cognizance.

State Women’s Commission chairperson Sunitha Laxma Reddy in a statement issued here on Saturday described Bandi’s comments as derogatory and highly objectionable. “We have sent a notice to the BJP state president and also asked Director General of Police Anjani Kumar to take strict action against Bandi Sanjay Kumar,” Sunita Laxma Reddy stated.
