    Hoardings to go up across city centers for wide publicity regarding advantages of Smart-meters

    Srinagar, Mar 13 (GNS): Managing Director, KPDCL held a meeting here to review the progress regarding the progress of Smart Meter Installations in Srinagar.

    The chair, as per member privy to the meeting, was appraised by the concerned officials of the KPDCL and TKC’s regarding the progress of the smart meter installation progress.

    The things, as per GNS, which came up for discussion during the meeting included the slow progress of TKC’s regarding installation of smart meters was seriously viewed by the chair and directions were issued on spot to increase the workforce to meet the deadline.

    Various officials of KPDCL were directed, during the meeting, to work in synchronization with the concerned officials of District Administration to minimize the protests against installations of the meters.

    TKC’s were given strict directions regarding the Non-Communicating Meters and were directed to resolve the issue as soon as possible without any fail.

    Damaged meters need to be replaced with new meters)( and the concerned Turnkey Contractors were given directions to install new ones within least possible time.

    The chair also issued directions to TKC’s to give wide publicity regarding the advantages of Smart meters.

    Instructions were passed on to disconnect all the defaulters.

    The meeting also reached a consensus for the erection of hoardings across the city centres so as to give wide publicity regarding advantages of Electric Smart meters.

    The meeting was attended Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL, Superintending Engineer Circle Ist, KPDCL, Executive Engineers of O&M Div Ist and IVth, AEE’s and Territorial SDO’s and officials of Turnkey Contractors (Anvil Cables and Techno Ltd) besides other officials. (GNS)

    Jammu, Mar 13 (GNS): Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo, today convened a meeting of officers and technical experts to review GI tagging for identified crops and products at Civil Secretariat Jammu.

    Threadbare discussion was held on progress made by concerned on application of Geographical Identification (GI) tagging of agriculture products of Jammu and Kashmir.

    Director, Agriculture Jammu, K K Sharma, Director, Sheep Husbandry Jammu, Krishan Lal, Director, Horticulture Jammu, Ram Sevak, Director Research (SKUAST) Jammu, R K Samnotra, Associate Director SKUAST, Mahital Jamwal and other officers attended the meeting while officers from Srinagar and technical experts of SKUAST-K participation online.

    During the meeting, concerned officers and technical experts gave a presentation highlighting progress made on application of GI certification of identified crops. Various other aspects of GI application of identified crops were also discussed.

    GI expert, Dr. Rajnikant also joined the meeting virtually and gave his feedback about requirement of the particular products during GI registration certification.

    After threadbare discussion, 15 crops/commodities have been identified and decided to be forwarded to the consultant within period of one month. Besides, 5 new products were also identified in the meeting for GI tagging including Burfi of Thandi Khui, Badda of Lakhanpur, Patisa of Kud, Peacanut of Poonch and Queer of Jammu and these products will also be sent for GI tagging soon.

    ACS emphasized upon the technical experts to focus on collecting historical evidence so as to make each case foolproof for GI certification of these crops.(GNS)

    KULGAM, MARCH 10: In order to review arrangements and preparations made by the Department of Forest in the district for celebration of International Day for Forests-2023, a meeting of officers from Forest Department was held today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat at mini-secretariat, here.

    During the meeting, the DC directed the officers to ensure full participation of all stakeholders for successful celebration of International Day of Forests (IDF) 2023 which will be observed with the theme “Forests and Health” this year.

    He also stressed to chalk out the program from 15th to 30th March 2023 and set target to Department for planting more than one lakh saplings in Kulgam to mark the celebration of International Day of Forests 2023.

    The meeting was attended DFO Kulgam Syed Waseem and representatives from Social Forestry Kulgam and other stake holders.

    KULGAM, MARCH 07: To review the status of developmental projects of Irrigation department and Municipalities in Kulgam, a meeting of officers was today held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat at Mini-Secretariat, here.

    The meeting was attended by President Municipal Council Kulgam Muneeb Ahmad Zargar; ADDC Showkat Ahmad Rather; Jt. Director Planning, Executive Engineers from Irrigation, PDD and R&B, EOs and other concerned officers.

    During the meeting, the DDC reviewed the status of Slaughter House, Sumo Stand and Solid Waste Management plant, and directed Executive Engineer R&B Kulgam to complete these Projects well in time.

    Moreover, Executive Engineer KPDCL and EO Municipal Council Kulgam were directed to make all street lights functional in town at an earliest.

    The DDC also reviewed status and progress made in various irrigation works. He reviewed status and progress made on renovation and repairs of Chakidhara, Grimtoo, Sonman, Mav Khul, Nandi and other canals.

    He instructed Executive Engineer, Irrigation department to scale up pace of work and complete the repair and renovation of canals and ensure smooth irrigation facilities to the agrarians throughout this farming season.

    KULGAM, MARCH 03: The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam, Showkat Ahmad Rather today chaired a meeting of officers of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal/ Sheep Husbandry and other allied departments to review physical and financial progress recorded by these departments under UT Capex and centrally sponsored schemes.

    During the meeting, all the heads of these departments briefed the chair about the expenditures made during the financial year 2022-23 and targets achieved.

    The Chief Agriculture Officer informed the chair that so far 12 Tractors were distributed among the beneficiaries against the target of 15. He also added that 12 Power Tillers and 12 Power Weeders were also provided to beneficiaries.

    While briefing about the progress recorded in the Horticulture sector, the Chief Horticulture Officer informed the chair that under MIDH, 4 Power Tillers below 8 BHP and 4 Tillers above 7 BHP were distributed among the beneficiaries. Under PMDP, 1 Tractor was provided to the beneficiary and 27 Vermicompost units were established in the district during 2022-23.

    He also added that one Hi-tech walnut nursery was also established under the PMDP scheme.

    Chief Animal Husbandry Officer informed the chair that under KCC dairy, 416 cases were sanctioned and under Integrated Dairy Development Scheme 24 units were established and under IPDP 23 cases were sanctioned.

    Officers from Sheep Husbandry informed the chair that the 100 percent target under ISDS was achieved.

    Progress made by Sericulture, Floriculture and Fisheries was also reviewed during the meeting.

    ADDC instructed all the officers to ensure 100 percent achievement of targets fixed to the departments under various schemes to benefit the people and beneficiaries.

    The meeting was attended by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, and other officers and officials.

    SHOPIAN, MARCH 01: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review physical and financial progress made under District Capex budget 2022-23 and to initiate action for the preparations of District Capex Budget 2023-24.

    The DDC took a comprehensive review of the physical and financial achievements of the works being executed by different departments including Jal Shakti, PDD, PMGSY, PWD, RDD, Health and Education under various components of the District Capex budget in the district.

    The meeting was apprised that more than 3871 works have been completed up to February 2023, involving expenditure of about 90%.

    DDC on the occasion directed for cent percent completion of works and booking of expenditure before the end of the current financial year.

    While initiating action for preparation of the upcoming financial year, 2023-24, the DDC directed all district and sectoral officers to complete the plan preparations by 10th of March 2023.

    Officers present in the meeting included ACD, Hilal Ahmed Jeri; Ex. Engineers of R&B, KPDCL and ReW, AEEs, BDOs and other concerned officers.

    Jammu, February 28: Director General of Police, J&K Shri Dilbag Singh today chaired the meeting of State Investigation Unit (SIU) officers at PCR Kashmir to review the progress of under investigation UAPA cases besides took stock of cases under trial.

    Spl DG CID J&K Shri R.R Swain, ADGP Kashmir Shri Vijay Kumar, DIG SIU Shri Abdul Qayoom, SSP Srinagar Shri Rakesh Balwal, DD Prosecution besides all CIOs of SIUs of Kashmir Zone attended the meeting at PCR Kashmir while ADGP (Coordination) PHQ, Shri Danesh Rana, IGP (CIV), Shri B.S Tuti, AIG Training Shri J.S Johar and AIG (CIV) Dr. G.V Sandeep Chakravarthy attended the meeting through Video conferencing.

    In his opening remarks, DGP complimented the SIU officers for the work done since the creation of the Unit. He said that effective investigation is no less than a weapon in the hands of investigators to demolish the terror ecosystem and is as important as carrying out CI operations to eradicate this menace. He stressed upon the officers to speed up the investigation process and disposal thereof of cases on merits and enjoined upon the officers to ensure that the investigation of UAPA and other cases of special nature is foolproof, taking into account every evidence in order to achieve conviction. DGP directed that stringent action is to be taken against the OGWs and the organizations providing any kind of support to terrorists, besides properties used for terror activities to be seized under law.

    DGP also impressed upon recently appointed DIG SIU to supervise each and every case in detail and said that a line of action has to be earmarked immediately with registration of FIR after analyzing all the circumstances and evidences thereof.

    Shri Singh, while briefing the CIOs said that the objective of creating SIUs is to ensure quality & professional investigation and conviction thereof for which regular training and updation of legal knowledge to be ensured. He directed for constituting a team of experts to augment the investigation process besides technical evidence collection which he said is of utmost importance. He exhorted upon the officers to study the investigation of successful cases which could come handy in concluding the under investigation cases.

    DGP also sought feedback and suggestions from officers to further improve investigation process besides directed for identifying the best investigation officers/officials, who shall be deputed in the Special Investigation Units to further enhance its efficiency.

    DIG SIU and CIOs of all SIUs apprised the DGP regarding the progress of each UAPA case under investigation them.

    Hyderabad: Telangana health and family welfare minister T Harish Rao on Monday presided over a meeting on road safety measures to be taken up in Siddipet district. Siddipet commissioner of police Sweta presented a comparative analysis on road accidents in Siddipet district as part of the meeting.

    Harish Rai directed health department officials to study the Tamil Nadu model which he said significantly helped in reducing the fatalities on roads.

    The Telangana health minister stated that signages and speed breakers should be put in place on accident prone areas on the Siddipet – Hyderabad road. Harish Rao asked the officials to notify hospitals in government and private sectors as designated trauma care centres and also directed officials to upload them in the state’s portal.

    Officials from the Roads and Buildings department were also asked to develop service roads and take up illumination of islands on the Gajwel Outer ring Road. Officers briefed Harish Rao about the various black spots identified in the district and the measures taken to prevent accidents in these areas, said a press release from his office.

    A state level committee on the road safety committee has been constituted and similar committees are also functioning at the district level which meet regularly to chalk out an action plan to prevent accidents, the release added.

    Hyderabad: Telangana chief secretary Santhi Kumari held a video conference with district collectors on Thursday and reviewed Kanti Velugu, podu lands, Haritha Haaram and other government programmes.

    Referring to the Telangana government’s flagship Kanti Velugu programme (eyesight testing), the chief secretary stated that the programme will continue till May end. Kumari said that care should be taken while handing over prescription spectacles to the beneficiaries.

    Santhi Kumari also discussed about the drinking water supply in the state and directed officials to ensure that tents should be arranged at the camps in view of summer.

    On the issue of Podu lands, the chief secretary asked government officials to keep passbooks ready for Podu beneficiaries who have been approved by the district level committee. She told district collectors to prepare action plan for the year’s Haritha Haram programme.

    The chief secretary also instructed officials to initiate the process of registrations of houses of the beneficiaries who have been selected as per the GO no 58, 59, 76 and 118. She said that all the government offices should be shifted to the integrated District Office Complexes.

    During the meeting, special chief secretary (MA&UD) Arvind Kumar, principal secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, principal secretary (revenue) Navin Mittal and other officials were present ( video conference).

    New Delhi: The government has formulated a conformity assessment scheme on IS 19000:2022, which is aimed at certifying the processes related to collection, moderation and publication of online customer reviews, to prevent publication of fake or misleading reviews, secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs Rohit Kumar Singh said on Wednesday.

    The scheme lays down the criteria and responsibilities of the organisation and ancillary requirements for grant and operation of certification requirements for processes related to collection, moderation and publication of online customer reviews, and charges relating to certification of said process.

    This scheme will ensure authenticity and reliability of consumer reviews published online, and will help consumers make informed decisions.

    This is a major step towards ensuring consumer protection and promoting fair trade practices in the e-commerce industry, Singh said.

    The rapid growth of consumer reviews for a wide range of products like clothes, electrical appliances, toys, cars, etc and also services like restaurants, hotels, travel and logistics, real estate and lawyers, etc., have the potential to empower consumers and drive industry growth, by creating a more transparent and dynamic way to exchange information, he added further.
