    Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit card for the Engineering Services preliminary Exam (ESE) 2023. Candidates can check and download their hall tickets from the official website upsconline.nic.in.

    The UPSC ESE prelims 2023 will be held on February 19 (Sunday). The exam will be in two sessions: 10.00 AM to 12 noon and 2.00 to 5.00 PM. Paper I (General Studies and Engineering Aptitude Paper) will consist of 200 marks, whereas Paper-II (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Telecom Engineering) will consist of 300 marks.

    How to Download UPSC ESE Prelims Admit Card 2023?

    1. Visit the official website of UPSC at upsc.gov.in.
    2. On the homepage, click on the “e – Admit Card: Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2023,” link.
    3. Enter the login credentials such as registration ID/ roll number, date of birth and captcha code. Now, click on submit option.
    4. Your UPSC ESE Prelims admit card 2023 will be displayed on the screen.
    5. Check the details mentioned on the admit card and download the hall ticket for future reference.

    Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission has released Answer Key  on January 22, 2023. Candidates who appeared for the written test for the post of Assistant Legal Remembrancer/District Litigation Officer can check and download the provisional answer key from the official website – jkpsc.nic.in.     Remission programme: 189 Maha jail inmates to be released on R-Day

    Thane: A total of 189 convicts will be released from prisons across Maharashtra, including three from Thane Central Jail, on Republic Day as part of the Union government’s special remission programme to mark 75 years of Independence, an official said on Sunday.

    The three inmates from Thane are undergoing jail terms for attempt to murder and other crimes, he added.

    “The special remission programme will see some prisoners being released on January 26, 2023 and August 15,2023 for good conduct while serving their sentences. A total of 189 inmates from Maharashtra will be released,” he said.

    The prisoners are selected on the basis of age, time spent in jail, disabilities, health etc, he added. Thane Central Jail has 4,569 inmates, including 132 women, while 52 are above the age of 70 and 386 below 20 years.

    The capacity of the jail is, however, just 1,105, officials here pointed out.

    The prisoner count includes 30 Bangladeshis and an equal number of Nigerians, they added.

    The total number of jail inmates in Maharashtra stands at 43,090, as per official data.
