‘CBI ignored key facts in Viveka murder case’, says Avinash Reddy

    [ad_1]

Kadapa: Kadapa MP, Y.S. Avinash Reddy, whose father Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy was on Sunday arrested by the CBI in former minister Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy’s murder case, alleged that ignoring some key facts in the case, the CBI was projecting them as the accused.

He claimed that Vivekananda Reddy’s son-in-law knew about murder but he did not inform the police. The MP claimed that the CBI did not question the slain leader’s son-in-law about suppressing the information.

Avinash Reddy, who rushed to Kadapa from Hyderabad after learning about his father’s arrest, said the investigation should be based on facts and not to target individuals.

    MS Education Academy

He said the new investigating officials of the CBI were doing the same thing which earlier officers had done. He said they had already brought this to the notice of the higher-ups.

The YSR Congress Party MP, who is cousin of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, said though Dastagiri (Shaik Dastagiri, one of the accused in the case) murdered Vivekananda Reddy, the CBI officials made him an approver and released him on bail.

The Lok Sabha member alleged that the CBI did not take into account the statement of Dastagiri or watchman Ranganna.

He said the CBI officials and Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter Suneetha were taking the probe into a particular direction.

“We will uphold the good and we will prove our innocence,” he said, adding that they are ready to face any probe.

The Kadapa MP said truth and justice should prevail in the case but unfortunately the CBI has stooped to this level by ignoring facts and giving importance to small things.

Avinash Reddy claimed that the CBI did not probe the disappearance of stamp paper from the house of Vivekananda Reddy and also did not take into consideration the letter written by the slain leader.

He reiterated that Vivekananda Reddy had changed his name to Sheikh Mohammed Akbar in 2010 to marry another woman and that he had a son Shaenshah from second wife. He claimed that Vivekananda Reddy wanted to give his property to second wife and that round seals and documents relating to this were found in his house. He wondered why the CBI was not probing the missing stamp papers.

Telangana Congress leader Maheshwar Reddy resigns

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: In a jolt to Congress in Telangana, AICC programmes implementation committee chairman Alleti Maheshwar Reddy on Thursday resigned from the party.

He is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Accompanied by state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Maheshwar Reddy went to party’s Telangana in charge Tarun Chug’s residence in New Delhi on Thursday. He later called on BJP national president J. P. Nadda.

    MS Education Academy

Maheshwar Reddy told reporters that he had sent his resignation to the Congress leadership. He termed his meetings with BJP leaders a “courtesy” call.

He said he would announce his future course of action after April 26.

Reddy said he decided to quit Congress with a deep sense of hurt.

The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) had issued a show cause notice to Maheshwar Reddy, asking him to explain his “anti-party activities” within an hour.

TPCC Disciplinary Action Committee chairman G Chinna Reddy stated that the panel received complaints regarding Maheshwar Reddy’s “anti-party activities”.

There were complaints that he was moving closer to the BJP and making scathing remarks about the Congress leadership.

Maheshwar Reddy expressed dismay at the treatment meted out to him, when no action was taken against an MP who met BJP leader Amit Shah. He alleged that “certain people” within the party were attempting to force him out.

Maheshwar Reddy had said that he practises politics with ethics. He also denied any interest in any other party and claimed that he had always discussed his grievances within the party forum. He said he also sought an appointment with AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge to discuss the situation.

Targeting TPCC chief A Revanth Reddy, he asked whether a person who had defected from many parties and lacked credibility could issue him show cause notices.

  • Hyderabad is a victim of KCR family’s selfishness: Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad is a victim of KCR family’s selfishness: Revanth Reddy

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President Revanth Reddy said that Hyderabad city is a victim of Telangana Chief Minister KCR family’s selfishness.

While addressing the public at Gandhi Bhavan, he said, “KCR family will sacrifice the city of Hyderabad for its selfishness. The city of Hyderabad has been destroyed during the 9 years of BRS rule. Even Nizam did not create such destruction in the city of Hyderabad”.

“For a Rs 100 crore property KCR’s family had paid Rs 17 crores. There are special regulations for construction in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills areas and also near KBR Park. Since these are elevated places, the airport authority’s permission should be taken for the construction so as not to obstruct the flights. Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills have a special natural environment and they enforce special regulations for building constructions there.KBR Park is considered an Eco-Sensitive Zone. That is why there are very few commercial buildings in the vicinity of KBR Park. Only after KCR came to the construction around the park increased,” he added.

    MS Education Academy

Revanth Reddy further alleged that where 5 storeys are not permitted in the KBR Park area permission was given for a 21-storey building.

“There was a heritage building belonging to the Nizam Nawabs near the BC Study Circle on the way to the Cancer Hospital from KBR Park. The building was bought by Kurra Srinivasa Rao’s firm KS&CS Developers. It is alleged that it was demolished against the rules. Our legislator Sampath Kumar said that when this issue was raised during the debate on the Municipal Act in the Assembly, KCR tried to suppress it. According to the previous rules, 1200 yards of this is a green belt. For the remaining 5800 yards, only 60 thousand square feet should be allowed,” he said.

In 2016, the owner KS&CS Developers applied for the construction of the building. Then the BRS leaders threatened and put pressure and 2704 yards of land was written in the name of Namaste Telangana MD and Chairman Damodar Rao. After the government came for the second time in 2019, Srinivasa Rao’s property was transferred. As a result, permission was given for 21 floors whereas per the old rules, no permission was given for a 5-storey building. How was permission given for 21 floors in 3 thousand yards of land?” he added.

He further mentioned that the construction of high-rise buildings near KBR Park will lead to a dangerous situation for the existence of peacocks in the region.

“If such permissions are given within 3 thousand yards, what is the environmental condition of the park? The 21-storey apartment will cause huge traffic problems near KBR Park. There is also a danger to the existence of the national bird peacocks and other birds in the KBR Park due to the gases coming out from the AC’s used by the people living in that building, and the environment may be damaged there,” he said.

TPCC chief Reddy also said that the word robbery falls flat in front of KCR’s robbery.

“I put a challenge before you. Not Rs 17 crores, if I give Rs 40 crores, will KCR give that land? Isn’t this proof that the lands were written off under threat? The word “robbery” falls flat before KCR’s robbery. A new word should be created in the dictionary for them,” he said.

Reddy further mentioned that BRS leaders have caused enough destruction in the city of Hyderabad.

“Minister KTR and his father will do this much destruction together? If people believe you and put the state in your hands, will you do this much destruction? Traffic in the city is due to issuing permits against the rules in the hope of commissions. Why do floods occur only with little rain? The D9 (Dawood 9) gang including KCR, KTR, Somesh Kumar, Arvind Kumar, Jayesh Ranjan, Venkatrami Reddy is causing so much destruction in Hyderabad city. There is no question of leaving anyone behind. This is the culmination of KCR’s wicked rule,” he said.

“In no other State in the country anywhere you can find such schemes for students. Because of it, the BJP is jealous and resorting to cheap gimmicks. The BJP leaders are unable to understand they are ruining the careers of students,” he said.

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Former Congress leader and last chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh N Kiran Kumar Reddy joined the BJP on Friday, lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi and slamming the leadership of the opposition party.

Reddy joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and hit out at the Congress leadership for its inability to accept people’s verdicts and make course corrections.

“They believe they are correct and all others, including the people of India, are wrong,” he said.

They want authority to control but don’t want to work hard or take any responsibility, said the four-time former MLA, who had quit the Congress last month.

Citing his family’s over six-decade-long association with the Congress, Reddy said he never imagined he will leave the party.

The Congress is getting damaged in all states and its high command does not interact with others or take their opinion, he said.

Reddy contrasted the rise of the BJP with the decline of the Congress since 1984 and lauded the ruling party’s leaders led by Modi for their hardwork and commitment towards the nation.

They have clarity of thought and consistency, and taking courageous decision is the hallmark of the government, he said.

Reddy also lauded Modi’s commitment to fighting corruption.

TSPSC Chairman Janardhan Reddy questioned in paper leak case

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the question paper leak at Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) on Monday examined TSPS Chairman Janardhan Reddy.

SIT officials questioned him for about three hours and recorded his statement. They reportedly gathered information from him as to how the accused managed to access the login ID and password of the confidential section to steal question papers and leak them.

The Chairman was also reportedly asked about the functions and responsibilities of various employees in the commission. The SIT officials gathered information about the process of preparing the question papers, steps taken for their security, the procedure of conducting the exams and related matters.

The SIT had on Saturday questioned TSPSC Secretary Anita Ramchandran and member B. Linga Reddy. Main accused Praveen Kumar and co-accused Ramesh were personal assistants to Anita Ramchandran and Linga Reddy, respectively.

Meanwhile, a Nampally court has sent three of the accused in the case to the custody of SIT. The court heard a petition by the SIT for custody of Prashanth, Rajender and Tirupataiah and sent them to police custody for three days. The SIT officials will question the three accused from Tuesday.

AP: YSRCP’s Vikram Reddy refutes rumours of leaving party

    [ad_1]

Nellore: A YSR Congress MLA related to a recently suspended legislator from the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh refuted rumours that he was leaving the party out of dissatisfaction.

Atmakuru MLA Mekapati Vikram Reddy said he does not bother about such rumours and asserted that his journey is with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He expressed confidence that the YSRCP will win all the seats in Nellore district in the next assembly elections.

Vikram Reddy reminded that his family has been associated with Jagan Mohan Reddy for a long time and observed that his father Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy had even resigned his MP seat twice in support of the former.

“Even after the untimely death of my brother Goutham, he (Jagan) called us and gave that seat (Goutham’s) to us. The vacuum of my brother’s loss has been filled by him. For any help, I always approach Jagan anna first,” said Vikram Reddy in a TV interview.

He reasoned that his uncle, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy, who was suspended for allegedly cross-voting in the recent MLC polls, will come to know his true power if he leaves YSRCP.

Referring to his uncle, Vikram Reddy said action will be taken against anybody who violates the party line.

Recently, the YSRCP suspended four MLAs — Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, Undavalli Sridevi, Mekapati Chandrasekhar Reddy and Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy — for allegedly voting in favour of the TDP in the MLA quota MLC election.

  • Centre’s contribution to SDRF is 75% , state share only 25%: Reddy slams KCR

Centre’s contribution to SDRF is 75% , state share only 25%: Reddy slams KCR

    [ad_1]

Delhi: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy on Monday slammed Telangana Chief Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) chief K Chandrashekhar Rao and said that 75 per cent of the funds in the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) are provided by the central government while the state share in SDRF is only 25 per cent, adding it is extremely unfortunate that farmers of Telangana have suffered losses due to the recent untimely rains across the state.

The Union minister said, “It is an undeniable fact that 75 per cent of the funds in SDRF are provided by the central government. The state share in SDRF is only 25 per cent. From 2014-15 to date, the Central Government has released Rs 2,196.60 crore to Telangana State SDRF.

In addition, RS 873.27 crore has been released under NDRF. Together with SDRF and NDRF, a total of Rs 3,069.87 crore has been provided by the central government to Telangana state. In 2022-2023, The Central Government has contributed the first instalment of Rs 188.80 crore and another Rs 188.80 crore will be transferred to the State SDRF for the financial year 2022-23.”

Stating that it is the responsibility of the government to support the farmers who have suffered losses, he said, “It is extremely unfortunate that the farmers of Telangana have suffered losses due to the recent untimely rains across the state of Telangana.”

Alleging that the KCR government of not helping the farmers, he said, “Keeping this in mind, the Government of India led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’ scheme. The Telangana government, which initially joined the scheme, later withdrew from the scheme without giving any reasons.”

“This has now led to a situation where farmers of Telangana can no longer get compensation for crop losses due to unseasonal rains, natural disasters and other unforeseen calamities.

Unfortunately, the state government does not have any clarity or specific plan in terms of providing compensation to farmers who have suffered losses due to various reasons. Without any such plan it withdrew from the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’ purely on political grounds,” Reddy added.

“Since then till today the farmers of Telangana who have lost their crops in the state are facing difficulties without getting proper compensation. At the same time, during the implementation of ‘Fasal Bima Yojana’ many farmers were benefited by it.

In the states where this scheme is being implemented, lakhs of farmers who have lost crops are getting compensation,” he further remarked.

Targeting Telangana Chief Minister KCR, he said, “It is unfortunate that the Chief Minister of the state, who recently visited the areas where crops were damaged due to untimely rains in the state, blamed the central government regarding compensation to the farmers.

While blaming the Government of India on one hand, the State Government has issued a memo to provide compensation to the farmers from the State Disaster Response Fund.”

“As on April 1, 2022, the State SDRF account had funds of Rs 608.06 crore as balance available in its account. Along with the first instalment of Rs 188.80 crore Central share of SDRF for the year 2022-23 released, on July 22, 2022, and the corresponding state share, the SDRF has a corpus of approximately Rs 860 crore.

This means that currently there are enough funds in the state SDRF to provide the necessary assistance to the farmers who have lost their crops. If the state government really loves the farmers, then I demand compensation from the treasury of the state government along with the compensation given by SDRF,” he added.

Alleging that the Chief Minister is trying to get publicity, he said, “Although the central government is providing assistance to the victims of the natural calamities in the state of Telangana, the Chief Minister is blaming the central government. It is clear that instead of understanding the plight of the farmers who have lost their crops and helping them, the CM is focused on blaming the Centre and gaining publicity.”

Stating that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government in the state was misleading the people, the Union Minister said, “It is foolish of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders to hide the truth and mislead the people in the current time when technology has developed so much. However, I suggest that the KCR government should refrain from spreading lies and tell the truth in front of the people.”

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao last Thursday visited rain-affected areas in a few districts of the state and assured the farmers of financial assistance for cross losses.

He announced a compensation of Rs 10,000 per acre for farmers who lost their crops due to recent unseasonal rains and hailstorms, informed the government.

CM KCR while addressing the Ramapuram village of Khammam district, said, “Due to the rains, there was a loss of 2,28,250 acres of crops throughout the state. Out of this, maize crops suffered the maximum damage of 1,29,446 acres.

As per the central government norms, they won’t get much money. In the Telangana government, along with putting in big investments and completing the pending and new projects, we are implementing farmer support schemes that are not there anywhere else in the world.

With it, the farmers are also getting stable and coming out of their debts. Despite that, they are some fools who say that we won’t get anything from agriculture. Today Telangana is first in per capita income in the country. We have the highest per capita income, more than Maharashtra. In the GSDP growth rate, farming plays a vital role.”

“Farmers don’t have to feel bad about it as the government is with you”, he said assuring support to the farmers.
“After BRS was formed we have been saying that India requires a total integrated agricultural policy. For funds, we have to write a report to the Centre and we don’t know when they will give it. We don’t want to depend on the Centre as it takes six months to respond,” said the BRS chief.
