Razorpay launches payment reconciliation service for buyers, sellers on ONDC

New Delhi: Full-stack fintech platform Razorpay on Thursday joined the government’s Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) ecosystem by launching a payment reconciliation service for network participants (NPs) like buyers, sellers, and logistic partners.
The move, said the company, will streamline the payment processes on ONDC, providing the users with an integrated single view of all their transactions.
“I believe the possibilities the ONDC network provides are endless and I’m confident the Payment Reconciliation Service will only further strengthen the development of ONDC’s tech infrastructure and help the ecosystem grow seamlessly from a payments and compliance point of view,” said Shashank Kumar, Managing Director and Co-founder, Razorpay.

Through this solution, Razorpay will facilitate ease of transacting on ONDC by timely routing settlement information for a given transaction and assisting Network Participants (NPs) with settling funds.
With an open network approach, where the buyers and sellers do not need to necessarily be on the same platform to be able to do a business transaction, ONDC will enable SMEs to access a larger buyer universe.
“This is a significant step towards our goal of enabling seamless and secure digital commerce for everyone. With this addition, we continue to drive transparency and inclusion in the digital commerce space and we look forward to working with Razorpay towards achieving this vision,” said Thampy Koshy, CEO, ONDC.
Razorpay is building its capabilities toward solving all things payments and business banking for over 10 million businesses, making it the go-to platform that enables exponential growth for Indian businesses of all kinds and sizes.
Established in 2014 by alumni of IIT Roorkee, Shashank Kumar and Harshil Mathur, Razorpay is the second Indian company to be a part of Silicon Valley’s largest tech accelerator, Y Combinator.

Altaf Bukhari Calls For Reconciliation To Bring Positive Change In JK

SRINAGAR: Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari emphasised that reconciliation is important to shape the destiny of Jammu and kashmir and its people.
According to a press release Bukhari was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a party event, in which a large number of political leaders and activists from central Kashmir’s Badgam district joined the Apni Party at its headquarters in Srinagar.
Apni Party president said, “The militancy has taken a backstage in JK and the people have been contributing to restoring the normalcy here; therefore, the time has come to start a reconciliation to shape up the destiny of this land and its people in a positive manner.”
Bukhari expressed his worry about the prevailing drug menace in society and yet again called for comprehensive efforts by one and all to eradicate the menace and protect the young population from falling prey to it.
“As you know, Apni Party has already launched a campaign named ‘Say yes to life and say no to drugs’ with a range of initiatives, but the problem needs to be tackled on a large scale and everyone from the society, especially our religious leaders, need to come forward to play their vital role in eradicating the drug abuse from the society.”
Stressing on the release of the veteran religious leaders, Altaf Bukhari said, “The prominent religious leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Moulana Abdul Rasheed Dawoodi, Moulana Mushtaq Ahmad Veeri, and others who are in jail must be released because these veteran social and religious leaders have huge following in the Valley can play an important role to help eradicate social evils including drug abuse in the Valley.
He further said, “Jammat Islami JK must be allowed to carry out its religious activities so that it can help eradicating social evils including the growing drug menace in Jammu and Kashmir.”

Scholar Sameer Hamdani’s Book On Sectarian Reconciliation In Kashmir Released

SRINAGAR: Kashmir scholar Hakim Sameer Hamdani’s book on sectarian conflict and the subsequent reconciliation was released at an impressive function at Kani Home Zakura. The function was attended by scholars, researchers, scribes and book lovers.

The book Shi’ism in Kashmir: A History of Sunni-Shi’i Rivalry and Reconciliation was published by global publisher Bloomsbury Publishing’s London chapter.
Prof Sidiq Wahid and INTACH convenor M Salim Beg presided over the afternoon function as Muhammad Maroof Shah and Raashid Maqbool reviewed the scholarly work in an open-air gathering. The book is the second major publication of Kashmir’s prominent scholar. His earlier book The Syncretic Traditions of Islamic Religious Architecture of Kashmir (Early 14th–18th Century) filled a wide gap in the history of Muslim architecture and his new book on sectarian issues in Kashmir is perhaps the first serious scholarly effort to address the issue.

Scholars who have read the book asserted that the bold effort is aimed at skipping the assumptions and rooting the evolution of the relationship on basis of recorded history.
Responding to a number of questions at the conclusion of the function, Hamdani hoped his exercise opens the area for further research.
Currently the Design Director at INTACH Kashmir, Sameer prominent returned after completing his post-doc at MIT, USA.
