SRINAGAR: Real Kashmir defeated Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) 2-0 to register their second away win of the season in the I-League 2022-23 at the Khuman Lampak Stadium on Sunday. Real Kashmir went past TRAU into fifth place.

In the first half, defender Richard Osei Agyemang scored his fourth goal of the year, and substitute Phrangki Buam teamed with Ibrahim Nurudeen to score his first goal. From the outset, both teams adopted a cautious attitude and built their attacks from the back. Over the hosts, Real Kashmir had the advantage. Samuel Kynshi had an opportunity to score first in the 22nd minute, but his volley from the edge of the penalty area missed the mark.

Nonetheless, the midfielder assisted the visitors in breaking the tie after 30 minutes. Richard Osei Agyemang made a run into the six-yard box to unleash a thunderous header into the back of the net after Kynshi’s corner kick hit the near post and TRAU defender Sagolsem Bikash Singh failed to clear the ball.

Kynshi nearly doubled the lead two minutes later. From outside of the 18-yard box, the 22-year-old took a shot, but it was directly towards the goalkeeper Lunkhominlenmang Jedidi Haokip.

Akashdeep Singh nearly caught Jedidi Haokip off his line in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper recovered in time to tip Singh’s attempt over the crossbar.

The hosts nearly equalised five minutes before halftime, but the crossbar saved them. Salam Ranjan Singh collected the ball close to the penalty area after Naresh Singh Yendrembam launched a lengthy throw-in. The Real Kashmir goalkeeper and captain, Subhasish Roy Chowdhury, was defeated by the defender’s volley, but the crossbar saved Real Kashmir.

TRAU skipper Komron Tursunov took a stinging long shot five minutes into the second session, but Roy Chowdhury blocked it. When Tursunov was open on the rebound of Sapam Bishorjit Meitei’s long-range effort for the Red Pythons in the 70th minute, the Tajik’s acrobatic shot was directed straight at goalkeeper Roy Chowdhury.

SRINAGAR: Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) on Saturday defeated Mohammedan SC in a Hero I-League 2022-2023 match 3-2 at the Synthetic Turf TRC Srinagar.

Although the RKFC players started playing attacking football, it was Mohammedan Sporting which scored the first goal. From the right wing, Marcus Joseph sent a delightful cross at the far post for Mirlan Murzaev, who beat defender Kamalpreet Singh to the ball and headed it.

Then RKFC’s Samuel Kynshi scored the equalizer. After receiving a pass from Bawitlung in the midfield, Kynshi charged at the Mohammedan goal and beat goalkeeper Samanta with an exquisite finish.

However, to the dismay of the home fans, the visitors restored their lead just six minutes later. Winger SK Faiaz cut the ball back for Christy Davis at the edge of the six-yard area, and the midfielder slotted it into the bottom corner for his second goal of the season.

To the dismay of the home fans, the visitors restored their lead just six minutes later. Winger SK Faiaz cut the ball back for Christy Davis at the edge of the six-yard area, and the midfielder slotted it into the bottom corner for his second goal of the season. In the first half, Mohammedan SC was leading 2-1.

In the second half, RKFC managed two more goals.

Kynshi made amends just three minutes after the restart by restoring parity. The 22-year-old sent a looping cross from the edge of the penalty area, and Samanta’s struggles in the Mohammedan goal continued as he could not judge the flight of the ball, which then dropped into the back of the net.

With the score locked at 2-2, it was Real Kashmir with all the pressure on the Mohammedan defence. Following a corner kick, Ibrahim Nurudeen came close to scoring in the 73rd minute. The striker received the ball right in front of the goal but was slow to react and the ball was collected by goalkeeper Samanta.

Nine minutes later, as Real Kashmir played high up in Mohammedan’s half, Murzaev made a counter-attacking run into the hosts’ half, and after reaching the by-line, the Kyrgyz cut back for Abiola Dauda but the Nigerian skied his effort.

With just four minutes of regulation time left Real Kashmir took the lead for the first time in the match. Ghanaian substitute Ernest Boateng scored with his first touch of the game to send the crowd into raptures. It was Kynshi with yet another goal contribution as his inch-perfect cross was neatly headed in by Boateng to seal all three points for Gifton Noel-Williams’ side.

Samuel Kynshi was awarded the Hero of the match for scoring two goals.
