SRK, Deepika’s ‘get ready with me’ video takes internet by storm

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are one of the most adorable on-screen pairs. From ‘Om Shanti Om’ to ‘Pathaan’, the two have been winning hearts with their chemistry.

The two have now come together to promote Deepika skincare brand 82°E. On Thursday, Deepika took to Instagram and dropped a super cool candid video with none other than SRK.

In the clip, Deepika is seen giving some skincare tips to SRK and fans absolutely love their fun banter over skincare. The two first cleanse their face with a cleanser and then Deepika suggests to Shah Rukh to ‘hydrate, hydrate’.

As Deepika tells SRK to drink a lot of water, SRK brings his amazing sense of humour and quips, “You can mix whatever you like to in the water as long as there is a lot of water.”

In the video, Shah Rukh also tells Deepika he feels ‘freshy freshy’ as he washes his face with face wash. Deepika then tells him that his daughter Suhana Khan will be happy that he is finally following a skincare routine.

Sharing the video, Deepika wrote in the caption, “It is no secret that I started my career with this handsome man [read @iamsrk] and that we have now done four movies together! But getting ready and going through our skin care routine together was a whole other level of fun! Check it Out.”

Deepika and SRK’s video on skincare left fans in awe.

“How cute,” a social media user commented.

“Only deepika can make srk do skin care on camera,” another one wrote.

Deepika made her Bollywood debut opposite SRK in Om Shanti Om, which was released 15 years ago. After ‘Om Shanti Om’, SRK and Deepika reunited in films like ‘ Chennai Express’ (2013) and ‘Happy New Year’ (2014) and the latest ‘Pathaan’, which has created history at the box office.

Helmed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan has raked in over Rs 800 crore worldwide at the box office. It also stars John Abraham in the lead role.

  • Michael Cohen says Manhattan DA case against Trump is ‘ready to take off’

Michael Cohen says Manhattan DA case against Trump is ‘ready to take off’

    [ad_1]

    trump legal troubles 00707

Cohen declined to give specifics about the sit-down, which he said was his 15th time talking with the district attorney’s office. He did say another meeting is planned.

“A 16th meeting has already been set, which indicates to me DA Bragg’s resolve in not allowing this matter to be forgotten,” he said in the text.

Cohen’s appearance comes as former Trump prosecutor Mark Pomerantz is promoting his book, “The People vs. Donald Trump: An Inside Account,” that criticizes his former boss Bragg for dropping a similar grand jury probe last year.

Cohen said he agreed with Bragg’s decision to stop pursing the case because there wasn’t enough evidence to charge Trump.

“The plane wasn’t ready,” he said outside the courthouse Wednesday of last year’s probe.

    But things have changed.

“I think the plane may be right now on the tarmac and ready to take off,” Cohen said.

He was continuing a metaphor used by Pomerantz in the book, which says Bragg led the 2022 probe “into the legal equivalent of the plane crash.”

The revived investigation centers around whether the former president covered up money The Trump Organization paid to Daniels during the 2016 presidential election over an alleged affair, which he has denied having. Cohen has admitted to paying $130,000 to Daniels, which he said was at Trump’s direction.

  • ISRO-NASA built satellite ready to be shipped to India for launch

ISRO-NASA built satellite ready to be shipped to India for launch

    [ad_1]

Washington: An earth-observation satellite jointly developed by NASA and ISRO that will help study Earth’s land and ice surfaces in greater detail is all set to be shipped to India later this month for a possible launch in September.

ISRO Chairman S Somanath visited NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in the US state of California on Friday to oversee the final electrical testing of the NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar (NISAR) satellite before being shipped to India.

“This mission will be a powerful demonstration of the capability of radar as a science tool and help us study Earth’s dynamic land and ice surfaces in greater detail than ever before,” Somanath said at the formal send-off ceremony organised at the JPL which was attended by senior scientists from the two space agencies.

Later this month, the SUV-size payload will be moved into a special cargo container for a 14,000-kilometer flight to the U R Rao Satellite Centre in Bengaluru.

ISRO and NASA joined hands in 2014 to build the 2,800 kg satellite. In March 2021, ISRO sent its S-Band SAR payload developed in India to NASA for integration with the L-Band payload built by JPL.

“This marks an important milestone in our shared journey to better understand planet Earth and our changing climate. NISAR will provide critical information on Earth’s crust, ice sheets, and ecosystems,” JPL Director Laurie Leshin said.

Somanath said that the NISAR spacecraft will be integrated into the satellite bus at the U R Rao Satellite Centre for launch within the next year.

“This is one of the most complex satellites. The elements that are built by JPL are excellent,” Somanath said.

The event at JPL was marked by the ceremonial breaking of coconuts in front of a scale model of the satellite by NISAR project heads of NASA and ISRO Phil Barela and C V Shrikant respectively.

The JPL Director also presented the ISRO delegation with a jar of JPL lucky peanuts to be eaten during the launch of the satellite.

NISAR will gather radar data with a drum-shaped reflector antenna almost 12 meters in diameter. It will use a signal-processing technique called interferometric synthetic aperture radar, or InSAR, to observe changes in Earth’s land and ice surfaces down to fractions of an inch.

The satellite will help researchers detect slow-moving variations of a land surface that can precede earthquakes, landslides, and volcanic eruptions.

Data about such movements could help communities prepare for natural hazards such as the Joshimath land subsidence.

Measurements of melting sea ice and ice sheets will improve understanding of the pace and impacts of climate change, including sea level rise.

Over the course of its three-year prime mission, the satellite will observe nearly the entire planet every 12 days, making observations day and night, in all weather conditions.

  • Election officials ready themselves for the next wave of Trump followers

Election officials ready themselves for the next wave of Trump followers

    [ad_1]

    local officials illo

There is expected to be a more intentional recruiting effort from national organizations focused on election clerks and other similar positions this cycle, in an effort to counter a potential wave of MAGA-like candidates running for those under-the-radar positions.

Run for Something, a liberal organization founded after Trump’s election focused on lining up candidates to run for office across the ballot, launched “Clerk Work” last year to recruit candidates for local positions in the election process. It covers everything from county clerks to boards of supervisors.

The group had a hand in recruiting more than 220 candidates in the midterms for voting-related positions, Run for Something co-founder Ross Morales Rocketto said in an interview. That included 32 top-tier candidates, with a focus on county clerk positions in states like Colorado and California and county commissioners in Nevada. The group said 20 of them won their contests, including 10 of the 13 who were running against candidates Run for Something identified as an “election denier.”

“The thing that keeps me up at night isn’t whether we can beat most of these folks — I think we can beat them in most places — it’s actually whether we get people on the ballot to run against them,” Morales Rocketto said. “And that to me is actually the harder challenge in all of this.”

Over the next two years, the group is focusing in on a handful of states — including Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Texas and Michigan — as top priorities to recruit election officials.

Keep Country First Policy Action, a group founded by allies of former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.), also launched an effort last year to recruit “pro-freedom, pro-democracy” candidates for office, with a focus on local election positions.

In interviews, local officials who will be on the ballot in 2024 said they expected it to be a challenging election, with the added attention on both the official side of the job, as they prepare their offices for a busy presidential election year, and on their own individual campaigns.

  • ‘Final report almost ready’, Delhi Police to SC in hate speech case

‘Final report almost ready’, Delhi Police to SC in hate speech case

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: The Delhi Police on Monday informed the Supreme Court that its final report into the alleged hate speech made at a religious assembly in the national capital in 2021, is “almost ready”. The top court told the Delhi Police to inform it about the preventive steps taken against the accused in the case.

A bench headed by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud and comprising Justices P S Narasimha and J B Pardiwala gave three weeks’ time to the police to inform them about the preventive steps taken.

Additional Solicitor General K M Nataraj, representing the Delhi Police, submitted that the investigation is substantially completed and the final report is almost ready. “It has been sent for vetting and we will be filing the final report in the shortest time,” he added.

Advocate Shadan Farasat, representing petitioner Tushar Gandhi, contended that Delhi Police should clarify certain additional aspects and pointed out that as per the police affidavit, they have fixed some date in March for collecting the voice sample of Sudarshan News chairman cum managing director and editor-in-chief Suresh Chavhanke.

Farasat said it should be done expeditiously and cannot take so long, and secondly, what are the preventive steps as regards these people? What steps have they taken so that these types of incidents are not repeated by these persons again?

The bench asked the Delhi Police counsel to look into the petitioner’s counsel contention.

Delhi Police investigating officer, in an affidavit, said that Delhi BJP spokesperson Vikram Bidhuri, who was one of the participants has been examined, and Sudarshan News editor-in-chief Suresh Chavhanke was examined in the case on November 1, 2022 and “he was bound down u/s 41A CrPC”.

The affidavit added that the alleged hate speech video has been examined and the transcript has been prepared.

“Forensic Science Laboratory, Delhi has fixed March 17 for recording of a voice sample of Suresh Chavanke. Thereafter his specimen voice recording will be compared with the video/audio downloaded from YouTube…effort is being made to obtain the details of the video of the speech made during the event and uploaded on YouTube, through the process of MLAT,” it said.

“That investigation of the case is being conducted fairly and without any bias,” said the affidavit.

The police filed this affidavit in compliance with the January 13 order passed by the apex court directing the investigating officer to place on record the steps which have been taken to pursue the investigation since the incident took place on December 19, 2021. The police have also requested Google Inc to trace the login-logout IP addresses of the video on YouTube from where the alleged video was uploaded.

“That in response to notice u/s 91 Cr.P.C., a reply dated November 18, 2022 was received on email from Google, LLC, Legal Investigations Support, informing that no records from the Google account holders, specified in the request, have been found,” added the affidavit.

The police have told the apex court that it has examined Hindu Yuva Vahini Delhi chief Rajiv Kumar, who booked the auditorium, General Secretary Sachin Vasisht, who organised the event, and Ashutosh Sharma who attended the meeting and uploaded the video on YouTube in the channel named as ‘Hishant Media’, besides several others.

“Some other participants who had attended the event have been identified and are yet to be examined.

“A draft ‘final report’ has been prepared and was sent to the prosecution branch for scrutiny. However, some points have been raised by the public prosecutor and investigation on those points is being conducted, “added the affidavit.

On January 13, the Supreme Court had pulled up the Delhi Police for registering FIR on the alleged hate speeches made at Dharam Sansad in Govindpuri in December 2021 after a lapse of five months and not making an arrest or filing a charge sheet till date. It had told the police that there was no palpable progress made in the investigation in the case.

Ready to face early polls if BJP-led Centre dissolves LS: BRS’ KTR

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: Alleging that the NDA government at the Centre shows step-motherly treatment towards Telangana, ruling BRS leader K T Rama Rao claimed his party is ready for early elections to the Parliament and the state assembly if the BJP dissolves the Lok Sabha, showing its willingness for polls ahead of schedule.

The BJP-led government has not announced any new institution or funds to Telangana and not even delivered on the promises made to the state in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, he alleged.

The NDA government waived off loans for its “corporate friends”, he alleged. “…especially those in BJP in the state, they talk big. If they have guts, let them dissolve Parliament. Then, we can go for early polls together,” he told reporters in Nizamabad on Saturday.

“They say ‘sab ka saath, sab ka vishwas’. But, their actions are ‘sab kuch bakwas’ (all rubbish). The value of rupee is moving towards the ‘pathalam’ (abyss), the debt is mounting towards the sky. Such is the situation prevailing in the country today,” he said.

The BRS and BJP have been engaged in political one-upmanship ahead of Assembly polls to be held towards this year-end.
