Major General Rakesh Manocha is GOC of Telangana and Andhra sub area

Hyderabad: Major General Rakesh Manocha assumed office as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Telangana and Andhra Sub Area (TASA) in Secunderabad on Saturday.
Manocha was commissioned into the Indian Army in 1989. He graduated from the National Defence Academy of Pune and the Military Academy of Dehradun.
He served in Jammu and Kashmir and holds a vast experience in counter-insurgency operations. He also has the unique privilege of raising an independent infantry brigade along the Northern borders.
He has been awarded the Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card for gallantry while serving in the Rashtriya Rifles and decorated with the Sena Medal and Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM).
A graduate of the Defence Services Staff College of Wellington, major general Manocha attended the Naval high command course at Goa and Advanced Professional Programme in Administration (APPPA) at the Indian Institute of Publication Administration (IIPA), New Delhi.

BITS Pilani gets USD 1.8 mn in gift from alumnus Rakesh Verma

Jaipur: BITS Pilani on Friday received the highest-ever individual gift of USD 1.8 million (Rs 15 crore) from its alumnus Rakesh Verma, founder and Chairman of MapmyIndia.
The funds will be used to build a convention centre at the Pilani campus.
The convention centre, named after Rakesh Verma, will include a 200-seater ‘MapmyIndia Conference Hall’ for conducting programmes and events and a 100-room residential facility for a convenient stay. The centre is expected to be operational by FY 2026.
Souvik Bhattacharyya, Vice-Chancellor, BITS Pilani, in a statement said, “Rakesh has been a champion of BITS over many years. He has helped many BITSians in their careers and has been pivotal in strengthening the entrepreneurship initiatives at BITS. With the upcoming convention centre, the Pilani campus would add a crucial facility to offer an unmatched campus experience”.
Verma (BITS Pilani, 1967-72) said, “BITS Pilani is not just my alma mater but a creator that built me and motivated me to achieve higher goals and strive towards lofty ideals. I would say BITS Pilani creates Institution Builders”.

Rakesh Roshan has THIS to say about Hrithik-Saba’s wedding

Mumbai: Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad have been dating each other for quite sometime now and they have made their relationship official in 2022 too. The couple enjoys a quality time together and it is also rumoured that they will get hitched in November this year. On Friday various media outlets reported that Saba Azad and Hrithik Roshan will tie knot in November but the couple has not confirmed the date officially yet.
In the hunt to know the exact date and venue of the marriage, Hrithik Roshan’s father was finally asked to react to the rumours by journalists.
It is reported now that Rakesh Roshan has stated that he has not heard anything about it as yet and said that Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad are still getting to know each other. Rakesh is of the opinion that Hrithik and Saba’s relationship needs to grow.

The rumours of their marriage date surfaced after a tweet announcing their wedding went viral on Friday. Recently, a video of Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad too had gone viral in which they shared a goodbye kiss at the airport. After watching the video, fans urged the stars to get married as early as possible. Netizens praised the chemistry and PDA of the duo.
Hrithik Roshan was married to Sussanne Khan and has two sons, Hrehaan (born in 2006) and Hridhaan (born in 2008) together. The couple separated in December 2013 and their divorce was finalised in November 2014. Sussanne Khan also approves of the relationship of Hrithik Roshan and Saba Azad.
On the professional front, Hrithik Roshan was last seen in Pushkar-Gayatri’s directorial Vikram Vedha which also starred Saif Ali Khan, Rohit Saraf and Radhika Apte. He is currently busy shooting an action-thriller film, Fighter in Kashmir. Saba Azad will be next seen in Rocket Boys season two.
