  • Finish Modi and country will be saved, says Congress’ Rajasthan in-charge

Finish Modi and country will be saved, says Congress’ Rajasthan in-charge

    [ad_1]

Jaipur: Launching a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress’ Rajasthan in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa on Monday levelled allegations against PM Modi, questioning the Pulwama incident. He said that if Modi is finished the country will be saved, however, if Modi stays then the country will be ruined.

Randhawa said, “Our fight is not with Adani, but with the BJP. Kill BJP and Adani-Ambani will die automatically. When the Congress comes, Adani-Ambani should not come. They should go to jail. Many of our leaders did not take them along. This has to be taken care of.”

He added, “I tell all leaders to end their fighting and talk about ending Modi-BJP. If Modi is finished then the country will be saved. If Modi stays then the country will be ruined. Modi talks about patriotism. They don’t even know what patriotism is.”

Randhawa questioned the Pulwama incident and said that Modi says “Pakistan mein ghuskar marenge”. First of all, tell me, how did Pulwama happen? Get it checked. Wasn’t it done keeping in mind the elections.”

He stated “All those who went to jail during the freedom struggle were from Congress families. Five generations of Congress families have gone to jail for the country. There is blood of every Congressman in Andaman’s Cellular Jail. Modi says what has the Congress done. The Congress has given freedom to the country, it has given the country to a dishonest person like you,” he commented.

Randhawa was speaking at the Raj Bhavan gherao programme organised by the Congress under the leadership of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee president Govind Singh Dotasara on Monday in protest against the crony capitalism policy of the BJP central government in favour of Adani.

Randhawa said, “When the British came, they had brought the East India Company to do business. Modiji has brought a man like Adani by making him like the East India Company which looted the country for 200 years and took it over. The country is moving towards slavery again. Not Modi but Adani is deciding what will happen in the country,” he said.

He added, “First take out Modi, if Modi goes out then Adani will automatically end. First kill BJP, Adani will end automatically. Narendra Modi is destroying the country and selling the country.”

He lashed out at factionalism and selfish leaders in the Congress and said, “We have to work for the Congress, not for any individual.”

Eye on polls: AIMIM conducting survey on condition of Muslims in Rajasthan

    [ad_1]

Jaipur: The President of All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi, was in Jodhpur, the home turf of Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, on Saturday for a survey on the condition of Muslims in the state.

Talking to the media, Owaisi said that a survey is being conducted on the condition of Muslims in Rajasthan. The report will be out sometime this month which shall be made public by March 25-26.

“Muslims have been made porters of secularism. When elections come, they say keep secularism alive, while others keep drowning it. For this reason I am getting the survey done by experts here,” he said.

Owaisi also talked to the media about AIMIM’s strategy for the Assembly elections in Rajasthan scheduled this year.

Owaisi said, “AIMIM will contest the elections in Rajasthan for which I am the visiting major cities of the state. My aim is to help my party’s candidates win.”

On forging alliance with other parties ahead of the polls, Owaisi said, “Only time will tell that.”

On choosing the CM’s home turf for launching his campaign, Owaisi said, “Doing public relations is not a bad thing. I also visited the Prime Minister’s parliamentary constituency and contested elections in Gujarat also.”

  • NCW writes to DGP Rajasthan over assault on Pulwama martyrs’ widows

NCW writes to DGP Rajasthan over assault on Pulwama martyrs’ widows

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: The National Commission for Women has asked DGP Rajasthan to personally look into the allegations of mistreatment and assault leveled by Pulwama martyrs’ widows and conduct an inquiry into it.

In a letter, the commission has also sought a detailed asked Action Taken Report from the police.

“NCW India has taken cognizance. Chairperson @sharmarekha has written to DGP Rajasthan to personally look into the matter and conduct an inquiry into allegations of mistreatment and assault leveled by the women against police officials. Detailed ATR must be apprised to NCW”, the commission said in a tweet.

The family members of the jawans killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack have been sitting on a dharna for the past few days over the alleged assault by police personnel when they tried to march toward the chief minister’s residence to put forth their grievances.

Manju, the wife of Pulwama martyr Rohitash Lamba, alleged that the police threw her as if she was a gunny bag when she was going to meet the chief minister.

“Unable to bear the torture by the police, I have been on an infinite hunger strike since March 4 and the Chief Minister will be responsible if something happens to me,” she had said.

  • BJP leaders using Pulwama widows to gain political mileage, says Rajasthan CM

BJP leaders using Pulwama widows to gain political mileage, says Rajasthan CM

    [ad_1]

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday targeted the BJP, saying some of its leaders were disrespecting the widows of martyrs and using them to gain political mileage.

This comes a day after relatives of three CRPF personnel killed in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack reached Congress leader Sachin Pilot’s residence and demanded a meeting with the party high command, accusing the state government of not fulfilling promises made to them.

Without directly naming BJP Rajya Sabha MP Kirodi Lal Meena, who has been sitting on a ‘dharna’ with the widows of the martyrs, Gehlot said in a statement, “Some BJP leaders are disrespecting the wives of the martyrs by using them to gain political mileage. This has never been the tradition of Rajasthan. I condemn it.”/

The widows’ demands include installing statues of the slain jawans, giving jobs to their relatives on compassionate grounds and construction of roads in their villages.

In his statement, Gehlot said the widow of Hemraj Meena, who was martyred in the attack, wants a third statue to be installed despite two others already put up at the Government College, Sangod, and a park in Vinod Kalan, his native village.
“Such a demand is not appropriate keeping in view other martyr families,” the chief minister said in the statement in Hindi.

The wife of Rohitash Lamba is seeking a job for her brother-in-law on compassionate grounds but if the job is given to him, then the family members or relatives of all widows of martyrs might start putting undue pressure on them.

“Should we create such a difficult situation in front of the wives of martyrs because the rules made at present have been made on the basis of past experiences. How can it be justified to deny the rights of the children of martyrs and give jobs to other relatives? What will happen to the children of martyrs when they become adults,” he asked.

Gehlot said during his first tenure as chief minister in 1999, the Rajasthan government released the Kargil package for dependents of martyrs and it has been made more effective by increasing it from time to time.

He said the Rajasthan government has made a provision that if the wife of a soldier is pregnant at the time of his martyrdom and does not want a job, it will be kept reserved for the child so that their future can be secured.

Help has been given to the Pulwama martyrs’ dependents as per the rules of this package, Gehlot said.

“Rajasthan is the land of heroes and thousands of soldiers from the state have sacrificed their lives for the motherland. The people and the government here respect the martyrs the most,” Gehlot added.

He said he shared his thoughts on the issue with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas, a minister in the Gehlot government, met the martyrs’ widows protesting outside Pilot’s residence and said it is the government’s responsibility to respect them.

The pilot had on Monday written to Gehlot, demanding an inquiry into the alleged police misbehaviour with the widows.

He also requested him to sympathetically consider their demands.

We are descendants of Ram-Krishna: Rajasthan Congress MLA Shafia Zubair

    [ad_1]

Jaipur: Rajasthan Congress MLA Shafia Zubair has said that people from Mev community, including herself, were “descendants of Rama-Krishna.”

“People from the Mev community reside in Alwar, Bharatpur, Nuh and some parts of Mathura, where Lord Krishna was born. I also got a little history traced from the people who wrote the genealogy to know what our history is. It came out that Mevs (people hailing from the Mewat region) are descendants of Ram and Krishna,” she said during a debate in the state assembly on grant of allocation to the Education Department yesterday.

“The blood does not change with change in religion. We have the blood of Ram and Krishna only,” the MLA from Alwar’s Ramgarh added.

While, Congress MLA Ameen Khan said that India is not a secular country.

“We do not consider this country as secular at all. Secularism came to an end on October 31, 1984 (when former PM Indira Gandhi was assassinated),” Khan said.

“We know Hinduism very well. A Hindu also protects another human being,” he added.

Reacting to the statements of Congress leaders, cabinet minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said that he was not present in the house during Ameen Khan’s speech.

“If Shafia Zubair has given a statement like this (descendants of Ram-Krishna) then she is absolutely right,” he added.
