Four Palestinians, including one woman, were killed by the Israeli army on Thursday, during a raid in Nablus, in the northern occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian News Agency.

The four martyrs are identified as— Hassan Qatnani, Moaz al-Masri,  Ibrahim Jabr and woman Iman Ziad Ahmed Odeh.

The Israeli forces claimed that two of the three martyrs were responsible for carrying out a shooting attack, in which three Israeli women were killed in April 2023, in the northern Jordan Valley in the West Bank.

Later on Thursday, Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the death of 26-year-old Palestinian woman Iman Ziad Ahmed Odeh, as a result of being shot in the chest on Thursday, by the Israeli forces in Hawara, south of Nablus, in the northern West Bank, claiming that she was attempting to carry out a stabbing attack.

Palestinian Red Crescent reported that four citizens in Nablus were injured by live bullets fired by the occupation forces, in addition to recording 152 cases of suffocation, including school students, as a result of the occupation forces firing tear gas canisters.

Israeli Army Radio reported that more than 200 Israeli soldiers participated in the military operation in Nablus on Thursday.

Palestinian News Agency quoted eyewitnesses as saying that the occupation forces targeted the besieged house with live bullets, fired a number of missiles at it, and prevented medical staff from reaching the besieged area.

With the rise of the four martyrs of Nablus on Thursday, the death toll since the beginning of this year rises to 108, including 20 children and two women.

The figure also includes the 44-year-old Palestinian prisoner Sheikh Khader Adnan, who died on Tuesday on the 87th day of a hunger strike to protest his repeated arbitrary detention.

The death of Adnan, who was arrested on March 5, 2023, pending military trial, sparked widespread anger and protests in the occupied West Bank, and led to rockets being fired at Israel by the armed resistance factions in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Israeli Police Raid Al-Aqsa Mosque, Dozens Injured

    [ad_1]

SRINAGAR: At least 14 Palestinians have been injured and hundreds arrested in an Israeli police raid on Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa mosque, triggering clashes in the West Bank, cross-border strikes in the Gaza Strip and fears of wider escalation over the holiday period, media reports said.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said 14 people sustained wounds from rubber-tipped bullets, beatings, teargas inhalation and stun grenades, and added that Israeli forces had prevented its medics from reaching the area. Firas al-Jibrini, a Palestinian lawyer, said police arrested about 500 people who were taken for questioning.

As per media reports, Israeli police said they moved in after “several law-breaking youths and masked agitators” brought fireworks, sticks and stones and barricaded themselves into the mosque. Police said the youths chanted violent slogans and locked the front doors.

The Temple Mount, located in occupied East Jerusalem and holy to both Jews and Muslims, is regularly the scene of violence. This year’s overlap of Ramadan and Passover, however, increases the possibility of friction as the city hosts an unusually large influx of pilgrims.

Al-Aqsa is the third-holiest site in Islam and is typically packed with worshippers during Ramadan.

  • ED raid was over in 30 minutes, served them food: Tejashwi

ED raid was over in 30 minutes, served them food: Tejashwi

    [ad_1]

Patna: Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Monday claimed that the ED raid on his house in Delhi’s New Friends Colony lasted only 30 minutes and the team found nothing while he and his family members had treated the officials hospitably, serving tea and meals to them.

“We have not left any scope to offer hospitality to ED officials. We have served tea, breakfast, and lunch,” Tejashwi Yadav said after returning to Patna.

“When ED officials came to my house for a raid, they completed the search operation in half an hour. When we asked them to go from my house as the search was over, they said that they have orders from top bosses to stay in the house for a longer period of time so that news about the raids would run for the day,” he claimed.

Tejashwi Yadav also claimed that the ED team, which claimed to have seized a large amount of cash and gold, had found nothing and dared them to release a list of their seizures.

“All BJP people are fake and we are original socialist leaders. We would not get scared of their lies. The BJP leaders are becoming uncomfortable after the rally in Purnea. They want to divert attention from it but they will fail in their efforts,” he said.

“In 2017, they were talking about Rs 8,000 crore. Now they are talking about Rs 600 crore. I want to ask them to give the details of Rs 8,000 crore first.. where did the Rs 8,000 crore go. They do not have any proof. They only have fictitious stories. BJP leaders are feeling uneasiness ever since we have thrown them out of power in Bihar,” he added.

At least 6 Palestinians killed in Israeli raid in West Bank

    [ad_1]

Jerusalem: At least six Palestinians were killed in the West Bank in an Israeli raid aimed at arresting a suspect involved in the killing of two Israeli brothers the previous week, Palestinian and Israeli officials said.

In a video statement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the Palestinian suspect was killed during the raid on Tuesday in the refugee camp of Jenin in the northern West Bank, Xinhua news agency reported.

The Palestinian Health Ministry stated in a press release that six individuals were killed by gunshots, and at least 16 others were wounded during a gunbattle between Palestinians and Israeli troops in Jenin.

Shin Bet, Israel’s internal security agency, said in a statement that the Israeli troops surrounded a building where the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Abdel Fattah Hussein Kharousha, and other militants were hiding.

The troops fired shoulder-launched missiles at the building. Video footage on social media showed large clouds of smoke emerging from a building in Jenin.

The Israeli authorities said Kharousha, a member of the Palestinian armed group and movement of Hamas, shot dead two Israeli settlers outside the town of Hawara in the northern West Bank on February 26. The attack prompted hundreds of Israeli settlers to go on a rampage in Hawara and other nearby towns, torching Palestinian houses, cars, and shops.

Netanyahu on Tuesday praised the Israeli forces, while vowing to continue to pursue Palestinian assailants who attack Israelis. “Whoever hurts us — his blood on his head,” he said.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh condemned the Israeli raid in a statement, saying that the “crime committed by the occupation forces reaffirms the Israeli government’s intention to thwart all regional and international efforts aimed at stopping all unilateral actions.”

The raid is the latest in a series of Israeli military operations in the West Bank to arrest Palestinians suspected of killing Israelis.

The Israeli-Palestinian tension has been escalating since the start of this year, leading to the killing of more than 70 Palestinians and 13 Israelis amid a vicious circle of violence.

Palestinian witnesses said heavy clashes broke out in the refugee camp between dozens of Palestinians and the Israeli soldiers who stormed the camp, Xinhua news agency reported.

The Israeli military confirmed that one Palestinian, who was shot while fleeing the scene, died on the way to a hospital while three others were arrested during the raid. It accused the arrested Palestinians of being behind the killing of an Israeli citizen near Jericho a few days ago.
