    Mumbai: Popular Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna has achieved fame and success because of her hard work and dedication. From Tollywood to Bollywood, her journey in showbiz is an example for others. She rose to fame pan-India after her acting skills in Pushpa were praised and is one of the few South Indian actresses who enjoy a massive fan following across the country. The actress has now landed into controversy after she was seen eating a non-veg burger in a McDonald’s advertisement.

    Yes, Rashmika Mandanna has earlier claimed that she is vegetarian but after she was seen promoting the non-veg burger, it irked netizens. She appeared in an advertisement where she is seen eating McDonald’s burger.

    Popular Instagram page Bollywood Garima Kumar shared a video clip in which Rashmika Mandanna is seen enjoying a non-veg burger. As soon as the video went viral, McDonald’s turned off their comment section from the video to avoid any controversy. Social media users are re-sharing the video and asking the Pushpa actress why she is befooling fans?

    One of the internet users wrote, ‘Rashmika stop fooling us’ while another said, ‘Isn’t she plant-based’?

    “Rashmika always lies through her teeth. Thanks for bringing this out Garima,” a third user wrote.

    A fourth user wrote, “Now at least understand why we kanndigas dont like her…. Because she changes her words here and there many times….”

    “Double standard first says i’mma vegetarian and having chicken burger and even promoting it,” commented another.

    As Rashmika Mandanna is also known as ‘National Crush’, she certainly enjoys a massive fan following and a few of her die-hard fans came in her support. “Even if she wasn’t vegetarian, and she did a McDonald’s ad doesn’t mean she actually eats it .. same goes with beauty products etc , they don’t use the products they endorse , they are just the face of the brand to bring in more customers , get more people to see the ad . It’s nothing new , idk why people have to find problems with everything nowadays just to hate on celebs . They are just acting , that’s what they are paid for,” one of the users wrote to support the actress.

    Another comment read, “Thats an advertisement, she might not be eating the actual product itself and her job is to act, doesn’t mean that she should only act in ads of the products she uses. Please go do something worth your time, instead of spending hate.”

    SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir government’s tourism department Saturday said that they have selected 300 destinations for promoting film tourism in the UT this year while G-20 will be the major international event and a great opportunity for J&K.

    Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration of the first show of the newly released movie—‘Welcome To Kashmir’, directed by Tariq Bhat, at Inox Cinema Srinagar, Commissioner Secretary Tourism, Syed Abid Rasheed said that last year 200 plus movies were shot in J&K.

    “This year our focus is to promote film tourism and for that, we have kept 300 destinations on the table of film producers and directors to choose any place for shooting,” he said.

    He said this year, film tourism will be promoted in a major way so that many untouched destinations are explored. “There are many destinations much better than European destinations in the UT,” said Rasheed. “Recently, a big film production house shot a movie in Kashmir.”

    To a query about the G-20 event, the Commissioner Secretary of Tourism said that the third working group meeting of the G-20 tourism group will be hosted by J&K which is a “major international event.” “This is a great opportunity for J&K to showcase its beauty. Through the summit, we will be able to promote film tourism in J&K,” he said—(KNO)

    Madikeri: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday described the scenic beauty of Coorg in Karnataka as “stunning” and said the BJP government in the state will prioritise promoting and conserving such places blessed by nature.

    Shah visited the hill station on Saturday during the ongoing campaigning for the May 10 assembly elections in the state and released on Instagram some of pictures and videos of the tourist destination.

    Hyderabad: Non-Muslims Scholars played an important role in the promotion of different aspects of Islamic studies in India, eminent scholar and Padma Shri awardee Prof. Akhtarul Wasey,

    Substantiating his statement, he said, Munshi Nawal Kishore of Lucknow not only printed the Holy Quran in his famous press but also provided the study material for Madrassas. The first Persian language newspaper did not come from Iran but was published from Calcutta by Raja Ram Mohan Roy.

    Prof. Wasey who is Chairman, Khusro Foundation, New Delhi expressed these views on Tuesday at Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) while giving the keynote address at the inaugural session of the National Seminar on “Contribution of Indian Non-Muslims to Islamic Studies (A Legacy of Composite Culture)” organized by Department of Islamic Studies in collaboration with Islamic Fiqh Academy India (IFAI), New Delhi, Khusro Foundation, New Delhi and Henry Martin Institute (HMI), Hyderabad.

    Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, in his presidential address expressed the need to promote interfaith understanding on the basis of knowledge. The contributions of Munshi Nawal Kishore be publicized, he added.
    Islamic Scholar Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, General Secretary, IFAI, concurred that non-Muslim scholars in India did a great job in the contribution of Islamic studies and they have a large collection of works on the Quran, jurisprudence, Prophet’s biography, Na’at writing (Poetry in the praise of Prophet Mohammad) and Islamic history. There is a need to develop better relations between Hindus and Muslims on the basis of common moral values, he suggested.

    Dr. Packiam T. Samuel, Director, HMI, and Prof. Iqtidar Mohd. Khan, Head, Dept. of Islamic Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi also spoke. Wall magazine prepared by the students was also released
    Professor Mohammad Fahim Akhtar, Head, the Department of Islamic Studies delivered the welcome address whereas Prof.  Mohammad Habib proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Md. Irfan Ahmed convened the inaugural session.

    Kohima: Preserving a rich Naga identity and culture including establishment of a dedicated Nagaland Cultural Research Fund with an investment of Rs 1,000 crore, inclusive development, agricultural and farmer and women’s welfare are some of the pre-poll commitments made in the BJP’s Nagaland ‘Vision Document’ ahead of the February 27 assembly polls.

    Releasing the ‘Vision Document-2023’ in Kohima on Tuesday, BJP President J.P. Nadda said that if the BJP-Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) comes to power, Saramati Cultural University would be established in Kiphire with an investment of Rs 500 crore to promote Naga culture, Rs 100 crore to be spent to promote and expand the scope of all major tribal festivals, he said.

    Nadda promised that the Eastern Nagaland Development Board would be set up for the holistic development of the region and a special package for the development of Eastern Nagaland would be given.

    The BJP leader said that the Central government would expedite the construction of the Trans-Nagaland Highway to enable easy access across districts, especially from Eastern Nagaland.

    The BJP in its ‘Vision Document’ promised that free rice and wheat per month and 5 kg black chickpeas and one litre of mustard oil per family quarterly, would be provided at a subsidised rate to all PDS beneficiaries monthly.

    The rate of existing social pension would be increased to Rs 1,000 per month for senior citizens, specially-abled, and widows, health insurance cards would be provided for cashless medical facilities for all government employees, it said.

    The BJP promised that in conjunction with the Central government, affordable housing would be provided to all under PM Awas Yojana by 2025.

    The ‘Vision Document-2023’ also committed to increasing the financial assistance under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme from the current Rs 6,000 to Rs 8,000 per annum.

    An Agri-Infrastructure Mission would be launched with an investment of Rs 500 crore, the party assured.

    It said that the Neidonuo Angami Women Welfare Scheme would be introduced under which a bond of Rs 50,000 would be provided on the birth of a girl child.

    The BJP said that if it comes to power, it would provide free-of-cost, quality education to all female students from K-G to P-G, and 2 free-of-cost LPG cylinders would be provided for all Ujjwala beneficiaries every year, while a scooty would be provided to meritorious college-going female students.

    For youth’s empowerment, the BJP government would provide 2 lakh self-employment opportunities in the next 5 years while Rs 500 crore would be invested to launch a Nagaland Skill Development University to train the youth and make them job-ready, the Vision Document said, adding that digital tablets would be provided to all the meritorious students of Classes 10 and 12.

    The party also said that timely completion and commencement of the Kohima and Mon Medical Colleges would be ensured.

    If the BJP comes to power, it would constitute the Nagaland Anti Narcotics Task Force under the Chief Medical Officers to curb the drugs menace in the state.
