    Congress launches poster of Young India ke Bol’ programme

    Kolkata: The Congress on Tuesday launched the poster of the Young India ke Bol’ programme, through which the youth wing of the grand old party will select its spokespersons for the district, state and national levels.

    Young India Ke Bol’ West Bengal in-charge Shams Shahnawaz said the programme will provide a political platform to the youths of the country, and they would be able to present their ideas in a democratic manner.

    “At a time when the BJP is trying to gag dissent, Youth Congress will give microphones to lakhs of youths. The programme will make our leader Rahul Gandhi’s dream of maximising people’s participation in democracy a reality,” Shahnawaz said in a release.

    Online applications for the programme will begin on April 23 and the finale will be held in Delhi in June.

    Bengaluru: Union Minister for Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju on Sunday appealed to lawyers to join the Tele Law programme and support judges in creating legal awareness.

    At an event organised by the Karnataka BJP legal cell, Rijiju underlined the role played by lawyers in facilitating justice for people, and appealed to them to provide legal aid to help people get justice.

    “The Karnataka Legal fraternity is ready for the battle,” the Union Law Minister said, adding, “I also appeal to lawyers to join the Tele Law programme and support the judges in creating legal awareness and to provide legal aid through NALSA (national), SALSA (state)) and District Legal Services Authorities to deliver justice at the doorstep of people.”

    Lauding the Karnataka BJP legal cell, Rijiju said that it, like the entire legal fraternity, had been working hard to ensure that the “development works initiated for Karnataka by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would continue uninterrupted with the double engine government at the Centre as well as in the State”.

    The Minister later met Karnataka Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot, Union Minister of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan and Minister of Health and Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya at Kempegowda International Airport.

    Rijiju, who hails from the Northeast also interacted with students and people from the North East who live in Bengaluru.

    Kulgam: A two day programme on Nund Reshi(RA), to show case the mystic tradition of sufism through music and symposium, was organized on 15th and 16th March-2023 by Indra Gandhi National Centre for Arts, J&K in collaboration with AKWO foundation Kulgam at Aharbal Main Park and Govt Degree College Kulgam. On day first a sufiana mahfil on Shruk (Nund Reshi’s sayings) was held at Aharbal. The event was itself a historic one as this was the first time when a spiritual gathering was organized to remember the mystic traditions of a great sufi saint of Kashmir whose sayings are reverberating in the hearts of every kashmiri. The event started in a traditional manner with the burning of izband (harmala) in a Kangiri to spread the aura of spiritual fragrance. The chairperson AKWO foundation Kulgam Mr Uwais Amin formally welcomed the participants. The session bloomed with two famous musical bands of artistic performance. In first part Mohd Yousuf Beigh and Saznavaz performed Shruks in a pure sufina in accordance with special Muqams of Mousiqui. The band was also consisting female performers providing uniqueness to this event. In second part Mehnaz Sangeet Group performed Chakri and Rouh. This sufi musical event of Shruks was attended by the District Development Commissioner Kulgam Dr Bilal Mohiuddin as Chief Guest accompanying with other administrative officers. The Khadimans (special devotees) of the different shrines of Nund ReshiRA also attended the event and were felicitated by organizers with kashmiri shawls. The event was also attended by locals, students of Degree College Kulgam, teachers & civil society members of the District Kulgam. The proceedings of this event started at 1:00 pm and concluded at 5:00 pm.

    On the second day, a symposium on “Life and Teachings of Nund ReshiRA” was held in the Seminar Hall of Govt Degree College Kulgam. A total of five speakers from different parts of valley presented their papers on different dimensions of life and teaching of Nund ReshiRA. The programme started at 11:00 am with recitation of Shruk by Bisma Jan. Dr Jahangeer Iqbal, Head Department of Persian, University of Kashmir spoke on the life of Nund Reshi. Dr Shahida Shabnam, Assistant Prof. Govt. Degree College Dangiwacha, Baramullah presented a paper on “Nund Reshi: life and art of living”. The 3rd paper on “Nund Reshi and his society” was presented by Dr Nusrat Jan, Assistant Prof. Kashmiri, Govt. Degree College for Women M.A Road, Srinagar. During the proceedings of programme Dr Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Assistant Professor Kashmiri, Govt Degree College Kulgam spoke on the topic “Nund Reshi in the pursuit of spirituality”. The renowned writer of the valley Yousuf Jahangeer presented a detailed paper on Nund Reshi as a nature lover. The session was attended by different scholars, language activists, devotees of Nund Reshi, Professors and the students of the college. The presidential remarks were presented by Principal Degree College Kulgam, Prof (Dr) Manzoor Ahmad Lone who was the chief guest on the occasion. The mementoes were distributed among the speakers as a token of love and gratitude. The whole proceedings of the two day programme was conducted by Dr Nisar Ahmad Bhat. The session concluded with formal vote of thanks by Dr Hashim Iqbal Assistant Professor and Head Department of History Degree College Kulgam.

    SRINAGAR: The United States of America, the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, Sweden, and Thailand are inviting applications for a year-long fully funded fellowship called the “Rotary Peace Fellowship Programme” for the Master’s Degree Programmes and Professional Development Certificate Programmes.

    Candidates who are proficient in the English language, and have completed their Bachelor’s degree with good academic achievement are eligible to apply. Three years of experience is required for students applying for a Professional Development Programme.

    The documents required for this fellowship include a CV/resume, academic transcripts, and an experience certificate (for Professional Development Programmes).

    The Rotary Foundation awards up to 90 fellowships each year, 50 for Master’s and 40 for Professional Development Programmes. Candidates committed to Peace, Development, and Conflict resolution will be given preference.

    Selected candidates will be provided with a full tuition fee, accommodation expenses, round-trip transportation, and comprehensive medical insurance. Candidates will also receive internship and field-study expenses

    The last date for application is May 15, 2023.

    The training programme was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal-Mohi-Ud Din Bhat.

    Addressing the occasion, the DC said that these youth clubs and volunteers will work as leaders and change-makers and will be a source of generating awareness about various schemes among youth and masses.

    The DC stated that these volunteers are a resource and urged them to take advantage of the training session. He also impressed upon them to work proactively for elimination of drug menace which has victimized the young generation badly.

    During the training cum awareness programme, Resource persons from various departments briefed the participants about various self employment schemes and beneficiary oriented schemes.

    Srinagar, Mar 11 (GNS): As the world becomes increasingly digitized, the threat of cybercrime looms larger than ever before and in an effort to educate and inform the public about the dangers of Cybercrime, the Cyber police in Srinagar organized a special cyber awareness program under the supervision of SP Cyber Ifhtikar Talib at the Cyber Police Station here on Saturday.

    The program was designed to provide attendees with a comprehensive understanding of various types of cybercrime, including phishing, identity theft, and online fraud.

    As the event drew to a close, participants expressed their gratitude to the police for organizing such an informative and impactful program. Many pledged to take the lessons learned at the event and apply them in their daily lives, helping to create a safer and more secure digital landscape for all.

    Talking to media on the sidelines of the Cyber Awareness Program, SP Cyber Police Kashmir, as per GNS, said, they celebrated Thana Divas at the Cyber Police Station, just like they do every year at every police station across the country.

    “This day is dedicated to honoring the hard work and dedication of the police force who work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of our society”, he said.

    “During the event, we returned more than 100 mobile-phones that we had recovered over the past few months. It was a proud moment for us to see the smile on people’s faces when they received their lost phones back,” he said, adding that this also shows the efficiency and commitment of our police force in tracking down stolen or lost items and returning them to their rightful owners.

    “However, the primary objective behind this Thana Divas event was to raise awareness among people about the dangers of cybercrime, with the increasing use of technology in our daily lives, the risk of falling victim to cybercrime has become more significant than ever before”, he said adding “We want to ensure that people are aware of the potential threats and are equipped with the knowledge and skills to protect themselves from such threats.

    “For this purpose, we had organized various awareness programs throughout the day, which included interactive sessions and workshops on cybersecurity. We also had experts and professionals from the industry who shared their experiences and insights on how to stay safe in the online world,” he added.

    “Overall, the Thana Divas event was a great success, and we hope that it will have a positive impact on society and people will be more aware and cautious when it comes to cybersecurity”, he further said. (GNS)

    Hyderabad: Startup incubator T-Hub launched the 10th Cohort of its Lab32 programme that already received over 800 applications from startups.

    The acceleration of 249 startups, raising 403 million dollars in funding and engaging 58 mentors has been witnessed in the cohort that will have 20 startups selected based on founder attributes, business model, and market validation through initial traction.

    T-hub hosted Scale-Up Summit bringing together startup founders, investors, corporates, and government and ecosystem enablers on Friday.

    IT principal secretary of the state, Jayesh Ranjan said, “We will continue to work closely with all stakeholders to build an ecosystem that enables startups to thrive.”

    CEO of T-Hub, Mahankali Srinivas Rao added saying, “We are excited to launch the tenth cohort of Lab32. The programme has been instrumental in supporting startups in refining their business models and achieving market readiness. We look forward to supporting more startups.”

    This partnership between T-Hub and US-based Redberri will enable Indian startups to connect with larger international players to augment their growth journey.

    Startups enrolling in the hub will have access to strategic workshops and interventions to gain entry into both markets and explore new business opportunities.

    The event saw attendees including Taran Chhabra and Amar Preet Singh (founders of Neeman’s), Chaitanya Chitta (founder of Slay Coffee), Kavikrut (chief growth officer of OYO), Rohit Chennamaneni (founder of Darwin Box).

    Srinagar, Mar 07: ADGP Kashmir accompanied by DIG Central Kashmir Range distributed sports kits to wards of Police martyrs under Civic Action Programme 2023 in summer capital Srinagar.

    According to a statement received by news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) today in a function held at Police Public School Bemina Srinagar, the wards of Police martyrs of District Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal as well as those from other districts of the valley residing in the hostel of Police Public School were given sports kits by the chief guest ADGP Vijaay Kumar who was accompanied by DIG CKR Srinagar Sujit Kumar.

    The distributed items included Gym bags, Footballs and track suits which were given to all the wards individually. Apart from these items, common sports items which included Cricket Mat, Cricket Net, Cricket Kit, Volleyball kit and Badminton Kit were given to the school for use of all the martyrs residing in its hostel, it said adding that the recipients included 86 wards (up to class 12th) of police martyrs.

    On the occasion, Principal PPS Srinagar Snighda Singh presented a bouquet to the chief guest. The Programme began by lighting candles in honour of martyred police personnel by the chief guest which was followed by distribution of gift items to these wards as well as their guardians who were present.

    The program was organised by Range Police Hqrs Srinagar as part of the Civic Action Program (CAP) of J&K Police to reach out to the families of the martyrs. The aim of the programme was to extend sports facilities to the wards of Police Martyrs so that they can participate in various sports events and remain physically fit as well as mentally happy.

    Vijay Kumar impressed upon these young minds that there is no shortcut to success and urged them to stay away from drugs and make a mark in life which will also bring solace to the martyr’s soul.

    Sujit Kumar, DIG CKR expressed satisfaction that J&K Police remembers its martyrs and through these functions we express our care for their families. The function concluded with lunch which was served by RPHQ team to all the wards as well as their guardians who attended the function, the statement added. (KDC)

    The start-ups that had submitted applications to participate in the acceleration programme were given their first one-on-one screening today, for selection to the program.

    More than 15 start-ups participated in the acceleration programme of the foundation on Thursday. The registration link for the participation has been kept open for one more week so as to enable participation more start up’s.

    The programme seeks to provide early-stage companies with support through the provision of a structured programme that is both free of charge and enabled by the National Entrepreneurship Development through the Wadhwani Entrepreneurship Program.

    The structured programme assists early-stage entrepreneurs by helping them establish a compelling value proposition, sustainable business model, financial stability, and verified Prototype.

    To further boost the new ventures KAN is associating with the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) to launch a new acceleration programme to support and foster the growth of innovative businesses. By this partnership, KAN is demonstrating its dedication to being a driver of advancement and innovation in J&K.

    The Acceleration program, which is a joint initiative between KAN and NEN, will provide participating entrepreneurs and start-ups with access to a network of industry experts, opportunities for mentorship, and cutting-edge resources to assist them in scaling their operations and achieving their goals. Also, it will get them ready to be able to pitch to early-stage investors and other financing programmes.

    Fulbright Teacher Exchanges opens application acceptability for Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement Programme. It is a six-week long programme for international teachers for professional development. Applications will be accepted for the month of March.

    The programme offers academic seminars to focus on new methodologies, student-centered learning, content-based instruction, lesson planning and instructional technology training for teachers. The teachers are partnered with a US teacher for at least 40 hours in local secondary schools and other relevant professional development and cultural activities are performed.

    Teachers having bachelor’s degree or equivalent from various countries are eligible including India.
