Days, after Priyanka Chopra opened up about her experience of having ‘beef with people’ which eventually led to her exit from Bollywood, the ‘Fashion’ actor, was seen greeting and hugging Karan Johar at the grand opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai.

Several videos posted by the paps surfaced online where Priyanka was seen hugging Karan Johar. They even talked for a few minutes and shared laughs as well. Though Priyanka did not take anyone’s name in particular, it was Kangana Ranaut who mentioned Karan Johar in her tweet, who “made Priyanka leave India.”

In the video, Priyanka and Nick were talking to Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. Later Karan Johar joined them. Priyanka looked ravishing in a beige sheer gown with a cape. She was one of those celebs at the event, whose style statement became the talking point.

A few days before, during a conversation with Dax Shepherd on his podcast ‘Armchair Expert’, Priyanka Chopra revealed why she started looking for work in the US, saying, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry. I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, and I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break. This music thing gave me an opportunity to go into another part of the world, not crave the movies I didn’t want to get but I would require to schmooze certain clubs and cliques of people. It would require grovelling and I had worked a long time by then that I didn’t feel like I wanted to do it.”

Reacting to her confession, Kangana posted on Twitter, “Media wrote extensively about her fall out with Karan Johar because of her friendship with SRK and movie mafia Cruella who is always looking for vulnerable outsiders saw a perfect punching bag in PC and went all out in harassing her to a point where she had to leave India.”

  • KJo to remove Priyanka Chopra from her upcoming BIG Bollywood film?

KJo to remove Priyanka Chopra from her upcoming BIG Bollywood film?

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: Entertainment and rumours go hand in hand and the most recent one involves two big names Karan Johar and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. According to latest buzz, Karan Johar is little upset with Priyanka Chopra with her recent comments on Bollywood and might even oust her from the highly anticipated upcoming Bollywood movie ‘Jee Le Zara’ which is suppose to star PeeCee, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.

These speculations sparked after a recent tweet Lady Khabri, a popular gossip blogger on Twitter, went viral. The tweet claimed that Karan Johar is little diasppointed with Priyanka recent comments about Bollywood during her latest interview with American podcast host, Dax Shepard.

The viral tweet reads, “KJO is mighty upset with #PriyankaChopra.
There is a very high probability that #JeeLeZaraa movie will be shelved, or Priyanka Chopra might be replaced by Kareena Kapoor.”

The tweet further suggests that Karan Johar, who is reportedly upset with Priyanka Chopra, might use his influence as a close friend of Farhan Akhtar, the producer of the movie under his banner Excel Productions, to remove her from the project and replace her with Kareena Kapoor.

However, there is no confirmation about it yet.

For the unversed, Priyanka Chopra in an interview with Dax Shepherd on his podcast Armchair Expert said that she wasn’t getting good roles because of industry politics. She said, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break.”

After Priyanka’s comments went viral, Kangana Ranaut reacted to them and claimed that Karan Johar has banned her. The Queen actress wrote on her Twitter handle, “This is what @priyankachopra has to say about Bollywood, people ganged up on her, bullied her and chased her out of film industry a self made woman was made to leave India. Everyone knows Karan Johar had banned her.”

“Media wrote extensively about her fall out with Karan Johar because of her friendship with SRK and movie mafia Cruella who is always looking for vulnerable outsiders saw a perfect punching bag in PC and went all out in harassing her to a point where she had to leave India,” she further wrote in another tweet.

“This obnoxious, jealous, mean and toxic person should be held accountable for ruining the culture and environment of film industry which was never hostile to outsiders in the days of AB or SRK. His gang and mafia PR should be raided and held accountable for harassing outsiders,” she added.

While there has been no official confirmation of these rumours, they have certainly piqued people’s interest and sparked a lot of speculation. If true, the decision to cancel or replace Priyanka in JeeLeZara would be a significant setback for her career in Bollywood, as the film was expected to be a major release with high box office potential.

Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra Jonas faced colourism and spoke about being lightened for the screen in films.

The Indian actress also revealed that she regrets being part of ‘damaging’ skin fairness ads during the mid-2000s.

“When I joined the movie business, if you were fair, you were guaranteed some sort of success or casting, but if you were darker… and I’m not even that dark. For darker girls, it was like, well, let’s lighten you up. I was lightened up in many movies,” Priyanka was speaking to Dax Shephard on the podcast Armchair Expert.

The star, who is married to Nick Jonas, shared that the make-up put on her and bright lighting used to look lighter than she was on screen.

She added, “We were taught that damaging bullsh*t. Even I got caught up into it and I look back on that, the commercial was so damaging. I’m darker skinned and this guy comes in, selling flowers, and he doesn’t even look at me. I start using this cream and I get a job, I get the guy and all my dreams come true. That was like the mid-2000s,” she said.

  • BJP wants to avoid Adani questions, PM silent on him: Priyanka Gandhi

BJP wants to avoid Adani questions, PM silent on him: Priyanka Gandhi

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday launched a fresh attack on the BJP over her brother and Congress leader, Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha, saying the move was a ploy by the ruling party to evade questions on the Adani issue in Parliament.

Taking to Twitter, Priyanka Gandhi posted, “BJP wants to avoid this (Adani) question. The entire Parliament, barring the Opposition, is silent and the Prime Minister himself has turned mute.”

“They (BJP) are levelling all kinds of charges on Rahul. However, the PM remains silent on whose money was invested in shell companies owned by Gautam Adani and why isn’t it being investigated,” Priyanka wrote.

Tagging a photograph of her brother to her post, Priyanka highlighted three key statements of Rahul during a press conference on his disqualification on Saturday.

In the first of these three statements, Rahul said, “Prime Minister was scared of my next speech that was to come on Adani. I saw it in his eyes.”

“The moot question remains: who invested Rs 20,000 crore in the Adani shell firms? I will keep raising this question,” the former Wayanad MP said, in another statement that her sister highlighted.

In the third statement that Priyanka tagged to her post, Rahul refused to tender an apology for the remark for which he was convicted and eventually disqualified from the Lower House, saying, “My name is not Savarkar, my name is Gandhi. Gandhis don’t apologise to anyone.”

Rahul claimed that he was not scared of going to prison, adding his disqualification was aimed merely at diverting public attention from the controversy over the report by US-based short-seller Hindenburg Research against the Adani Group.

He alleged that the BJP-led central government was protecting the billionaire investor, who was accused of stock manipulation by the US short-seller.

“Why is the BJP protecting Gautam Adani? Kyun ki aap hi Adani ho,” Rahul alleged.

He added, “The whole game of disqualification and allegations (against him) by ministers is aimed at distracting people from the Adani issue.”

Son of martyred PM called ‘Mir Jafar’, hurled insults but Rahul won’t bow down: Priyanka

    [ad_1]

New Delhi: In a blistering attack on the BJP, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday said Rahul Gandhi, the son of a martyred prime minister, was called ‘Mir Jafar’ and insults were hurled at his family but he would not bow down as he belongs to a family whose members have nurtured democracy by their blood.

Her attack came after the former Congress president and her brother was disqualified from Lok Sabha, a day after he was convicted by a Surat court in a 2019 criminal defamation case Thursday.

In a series of tweets, Priyanka Gandhi launched an all-out attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying in a tweet in Hindi, “Narendra Modi ji, your sycophants called the son of a martyred prime Minister a traitor, Mir Jafar. One of your Chief Minister raised questions as to who is the father of Rahul Gandhi? Following the custom of Kashmiri Pandits, a son wears ‘pagdi’ after his father’s death, maintaining his family’s tradition.” “Insulting the whole family and the Kashmiri Pandit community, you asked in Parliament why we don’t keep the name Nehru. But no judge gave you a sentence of two years. Did not disqualify you from the Parliament,” she said.

Stepping up its attack on Rahul Gandhi over his democracy in danger remark in London, the BJP had on Tuesday dubbed him as the “present-day Mir Jafar of Indian polity” who went overseas seeking help from foreign forces to become a ‘nawab’ in India.

The Congress general secretary said Gandhi is a “true patriot” and has questioned Adani Group’s loot, raised questions on Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi.

“…You call my family dynasty, do note that this family has nurtured India’s democracy with their blood,” she said.

This family raised the voice of the people of India and fought for the truth for generations, she said.

Later, speaking with reporters after attending a meeting at the AICC headquarters here, she said, “Be it the BJP spokespersons, ministers, MPs ministers or the PM himself, they keep criticising my family, Rahul ji, Indira ji, my mother, Nehru ji and use abusive language, everyone knows this, but he has not been handed down a two-year sentence or disqualified them.” “My brother raised the issue of Adani and that is why all this is happening. There was a stay on the (defamation) case and after my brother made that speech in Parliament about Adani why was the case suddenly revived,” she said.

This government does not want to answer on Adani issue and that is why all this planning has been done, she alleged and added that the Congress will keep fighting and will not be afraid.

The court in Surat sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years in jail in the defamation case, filed on a complaint by BJP MLA Purnesh Modi for his alleged remark, “How come all thieves have Modi as the common surname?” Hitting out at the government over Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from Lok Sabha, the Congress said it was “a black day for Indian democracy” and asserted that the battle will be fought both “legally and politically”.
