Vijayawada: The Politburo member of CPM Prakash Karat on Friday warned that the establishment of a Hindu kingdom would be a threat to the country. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government was trying hard to establish a Hindu Rastra after becoming the PM by swearing in on Indian constitution. He also alleged that Modi was muzzling the voice of the opposition political parties in Parliament. He made it clear that those who are ruling the country now had never taken part in the freedom struggle of the country. He made these remarks while addressing a gathering at a program held in the city with a slogan to chase away anti-people, dictatorial and communal BJP and Modi from the country. CPI national secretary Binay Viswam also took part in the program.
Speaking on the occasion, Karat targeted right wing RSS organisation and alleged that the organisation had asked the people of the country to follow Manu Smriti instead of the Indian constitution. He criticised that the central government was threatening the opposition party leaders by misusing the central agencies like CBI, the ED and the IT department. He alleged that the Modi government was foisting false cases on Muslim minorities of the country and bringing new laws by citing love jihad and cow slaughtering.
Targeting industrialist Gautam Adani, he said that his assets of Adani had gone up to Rs.10.5 lakhs in the year 2022 from Rs.50,000 crores in the year 2014. He said that inequalities had gone up in Modi government. He said that the ordinary people of the country were suffering a lot due to steep increase in inflation in the country. Stating that the Modi government is not imposing wealth tax and capital gains tax and other taxes on the industrialists of the country, he said that the non-imposition of the taxes was creating problems for the ordinary people of the country. Stating that MSME sector create more job opportunities for the unemployed youth of the country, he alleged that the Modi government was encouraging the MSME sector.

Talking about the crisis in the agriculture sector of the country, He alleged that the Modi government was responsible for the crisis in the farm sector and reminded that the farmers of the country held a year-long agitation against the three 3 black farm laws brought by Modi government and forced it abolish them. Commenting on the privatisation of Vizag Steel Plant, he criticised that the central government was now saying that it had kept the issue aside. Targeting the ruling YSRCP in the state, he alleged that the ruling party was extending its support to all the bills introduced by the BJP-led central government in Parliament and added that the ruling party was implementing all the policies of the BJP although the saffron party is not in power in AP.

“Get ready to answer citizens’ questions”, Prakash Raj to Kichcha Sudeep

Bengaluru: A day after Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep confirmed he would campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), another south star Prakash Raj took a jibe at him for choosing a ‘political party’.
Taking to Twitter on Thursday, Prakash wrote, “Dear Sudeep.. as an artist loved by everyone.. I had expected you to be a voice of the people. But you have chosen to colour yourself with a political party .. WELL .. Get ready to answer ..every question a citizen will ask YOU and YOUR party…@KicchaSudeep#justasking.”
Kichcha Sudeep hogged the limelight throughout Wednesday amid speculations of his joining BJP.

Addressing a joint press conference with CM Basavraj Bommai, Kichcha Sudeep said, “I had no necessity to come here, and I have not come here for any platform or money. I have come here only for a person. I have high regard for CM Mama (Bommai). That’s why I am announcing that I am giving my full support to Bommai sir”.
On being asked if he agrees with the ideology of BJP, Sudeep said, “As a citizen, I totally respect certain decisions PM Modi has taken, but that’s my perspective. But that has got nothing to do with me sitting here today”.
Karnataka CM Bommai also said that Sudeep doesn’t belong to any political party.
Reacting to Sudeep’s words on Wednesday, Prakash Raj said, “I am shocked and hurt by Kichha Sudeep’s statement.”
The Assembly election in Karnataka is scheduled to be held on May 10 and the counting of votes will take place on May 13.

Prakash during an event in Kerala had earlier said, “The Kashmir Files is one of the nonsense films, but we know who produced it. Shameless. International jury spit on them. They are still shameless. The other fellow, the director is still telling, ‘Why I am not getting Oscar?’ He will not even get a Bhaskar.”
“I tell you because there is a sensitive media out there. Here you can do a propaganda film. I know, according to my sources, they have invested around ₹2000 crore only to make films like this. But you can’t fool people all the time,” he further added.
The Kashmir Files movie highlights the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir in the 1990s. It is produced by Zee Studios and stars Anupam in the lead role alongside Pallavi Joshi, Mithun Chakraborty and Darshan Kumaar among others.

Banda Prakash elected Deputy Chairman of Telangana Legislative Council

Hyderabad: Banda Prakash Mudiraj of ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) was Sunday unanimously elected as the Deputy Chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council.
As he was the only candidate in the fray, he was declared elected unopposed for the post.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Council Chairman Gutta Sukhender Reddy, Minister for Legislative Affairs V. Prashanth Reddy and leaders of various political parties congratulated Banda Prakash on his election as Deputy Chairman.
The chief minister said the election of Banda Prakash as the Deputy Chairman is a matter of pride for all. He said coming from an ordinary family, Banda Prakash worked hard to come up.
The chief minister recalled the services of the member for Mudiraj community.
Banda Prakash began his political career as a municipal councilor in 1981. He was appointed general secretary of the party in 2017.
He was elected as member of Legislative Council in 2021 from MLAs quota.

No talks in MVA over taking Prakash Ambedkar-led VBA on board: Sharad Pawar

Kolhapur: Days after Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) and Prakash Ambedkar’s Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) forged an alliance, NCP leader Sharad Pawar on Saturday said that so far no talks were held among the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) constituents about taking the VBA on board.
Pawar said the Congress, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Thackeray-led Sena will contest the upcoming elections together.
He was talking to reporters at Kolhapur in western Maharashtra.
Responding to a query about the Sena (UBT) and VBA’s alliance, the former Union minister said, “No talks were held (in the MVA) regarding Prakash Ambedkar’s VBA ahead of the elections. We do not know what is going on between the two parties…we will not discuss anything over it.”
“Congress, NCP, and Thackeray-led Sena will together contest upcoming elections. We have not held any discussion with Ambedkar,” he said.
The NCP and Thackeray-led Sena are part of the MVA along with the Congress. The three-party alliance was in power from 2019 till the end of June last year. The government led by Thackeray collapsed following a rebellion by his party’s senior leader Eknath Shinde and his supporting MLAs, who joined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and came to power.
The BJP has reportedly said that it will seek MVA’s support so that the upcoming by-polls to the Kasba and Chinchwad assembly seats in Pune are held unopposed. Byelections are necessitated as the sitting BJP MLAs from these seats died recently. When asked about it, Pawar said, “I don’t know to whom (state BJP chief) Chandrakant Patil is writing a letter about it. I have no information on that. I don’t know how he didn’t think about unopposed elections during the by-polls in Kolhapur and Pandharpur.”
When asked about the early morning oath-taking ceremony of Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar in November 2019, the NCP president replied, “It’s been two years now. Why are you raking up that topic?”

After the 2019 Assembly poll results, Fadnavis had returned as chief minister with Ajit Pawar as his deputy on November 23 that year. Both were sworn in a hush-hush early morning ceremony, but the government lasted only 80 hours.
On a query about Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao, Pawar said he is trying to bring together leaders of various parties.
