New Delhi: A 23-year-old youth has been arrested for creating three fake Instagram accounts and uploading morphed pictures and mobile number of a girl to take “revenge”, the police said on Wednesday.
The arrested individual has been identified as Roshan Sharma, a resident of Ankur Enclave at Loni in Ghaziabad. He works as an autorickshaw driver.
According to the police, on February 3, a woman lodged a complaint at Jyoti Nagar Cyber Police Station regarding a fake Instagram account created in her name with her morphed images by some unknown person.
“During the investigation, three Instagram accounts containing obscene pictures and morphed images of the complainant were found. The personal mobile number of the complainant was also found mentioned in the Instagram account,” said Joy Tirkey, Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The police team tasked with investigation obtained the registrant details, and the IP address of the fake Instagram profile.
“On the basis of the information, and through technical surveillance, the location of the mobile phone used in creating the Instagram account was traced to the Loni area of Ghaziabad. In the early hours of Tuesday, Roshan was apprehended,” said the DCP.
The mobile phone and two SIM cards used in the commission of the crime were also recovered from his possession.
On questioning, Roshan confessed to his crime.
He disclosed that earlier, he used to reside at rented accommodation in Mukund Vihar, Karawal Nagar. One day, he had a heated argument with his girlfriend during which the complainant (a friend of his girlfriend) also got involved, and he had abused her.
“On being abused, the complainant called her brothers and got Roshan beaten up. To avenge the humiliation, he downloaded her photos from her WhatsApp profile and created three fake Instagram accounts in the name of the complainant and uploaded her morphed pictures with her mobile number,” said the DCP, adding that further investigation in the case is under progress.

Karachi: Pakistani actor Ushna Shah tied the knot with golf player Hamza Amin on Sunday in front of friends and family members. Her ‘Indian bridal’ look in a vibrant red lehenga and other celebrations at her wedding have become hot topic of discussion among social media users.
Netizens are trolling her for choosing Indian style outfits. One user commented, “7 phearey b le liye hon ge haina.”
Another user wrote, “Congratulations….you copy so many Hindu wedding rituals and your lehenga as well is totally that of Hindu brides.” Many wrote ‘Hindu style’, ‘Indian bride’ in the comments section.
She responded sharply to the haters who criticised her wedding outfit. Taking to Instagram stories, she wrote, “Mrs Amin, to those who have a problem with my dress: you weren’t invited, nor did you pay for my shade of red. My jewellery, my jora (wedding outfit): purely Pakistani. My heart, however, half-Austrian. Allah humein khush rakhey aameen (May God keep us happy).”

Ushna also accused a fashion blogger for leaking her wedding pictures on the internet. She said that the fashion blogger shared the photos with local media portals without her permission. Reacting to the trolls, Ushna Shah took to Instagram stories to call out a fashion blogger for violating the terms clearly stated in her wedding invitation.
She wrote, “Not only did he bring a plus one, he brought a photographer without permission, lied to my family that I had allowed this. That photographer then sent exclusive unapproved photos to various portals.” Ushna further wrote, “He (the photographer) also brought a drone, which he snuck to our private nikkah enclosure on the water and recorded our signing, which left me in tears afterward.”
She further shared another note which reads, “The drone was hovering loudly next to my head during my signing, I had to shoo it away. I had a sick feeling in my stomach wondering who it was. Does any bride deserve this? Whether my dress looked Indian to people or even Mongolian, does any human being deserve this? Our nikkah enclosure allowed 15 people, family only. I am dizzy with disgust that this man would stoop so low… If I have any legal standing to do something about this, I will. I feel absolutely violated.”

Ushna shared the invitation card in which it is categorically mentioned that sharing videos and photos from the wedding ceremony is strictly prohibited.
Check out some of her wedding moments, she shared on her official Instagram account

Mumbai: Newlyweds Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani have more wedding pictures in store to keep their fans engaged in the festivities. On Tuesday late at night, Kiara dropped some stunning photos from one of their pre-wedding festivities. Presumably, these photos are from their Sangeet ceremony, though it’s not specified in the caption.
Kiara chose a shimmery golden lehenga for the occasion. She kept her hair loose and completed the look with a statement neckpiece. Sidharth wore a black kurta, topping it with a golden jacket. From the pictures, it’s clear that the couple had thoroughly enjoyed the occasion.
Kiara wrote in her caption, “something about that night.. something really special”.
Adding some heart emojis, filmmaker Karan Johar wrote, “Stunning!!!!! @manishmalhotra05.”
The ‘Shershaah’ couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on February 7 at Suryagarh Palace, a resort near Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. They hosted a reception in Delhi for their close friends and later in Mumbai on February 12. Karan Johar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Kajol, Gauri Khan, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and other celebs attended the grand reception.
For the wedding, Kiara wore a pink lehenga, which is designed by Manish Malhotra.
The lehenga features intricate embroidery detailing of roman architecture, inspired by the special love the newlyweds share for the city of domes. Real Swarovski crystals are embellished to embrace our signature sparkle.
The new bride chose diamond Jewellery by Manish Malhotra for her big day. The neckpiece features an exquisite composition of ultra-fine hand-cut diamonds crafted with rare Zambian emeralds. She was seen wearing a diamond ring, prompting speculations that it is her wedding ring.
On the other hand, Sidharth opted for an ivory sherwani with an exquisite royal lustre. The sherwani features classic signatures, hints of ivory threadwork, gold zardozi and badla work, handcrafted with utmost finesse. He completed his look with Polki Jewellery studded with extremely fine uncut diamonds for the perfect regal look.

PARIS — French parents had better think twice before posting too many pictures of their offspring on social media.
On Tuesday, members of the National Assembly’s law committee unanimously green-lit draft legislation to protect children’s rights to their own images.
“The message to parents is that their job is to protect their children’s privacy,” Bruno Studer, an MP from President Emmanuel Macron’s party who put the bill forward, said in an interview. “On average, children have 1,300 photos of themselves circulating on social media platforms before the age of 13, before they are even allowed to have an account,” he added.
The French president and his wife Brigitte have made child protection online a political priority. Lawmakers are also working on age-verification requirements for social media and rules to limit kids’ screen time.
Studer, who was first elected in 2017, has made a career out of child safety online. In the past few years, he authored two groundbreaking pieces of legislation: one requiring smartphone and tablet manufacturers to give parents the option to control their children’s internet access, and another introducing legal protections for YouTube child stars.
So-called sharenting (combining “sharing” and “parenting,” referring to posting sensitive pictures of one’s kids online) constitutes one of the main risks to children’s privacy, according to the bill’s explanatory statement. Half of the pictures shared by child sexual abusers were initially posted by parents on social media, according to reports by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, mentioned in the text.
The legislation adopted on Tuesday includes protecting their children’s privacy among parents’ legal duties. Both parents would be jointly responsible for their offspring’s image rights and “shall involve the child … according to his or her age and degree of maturity.”
In case of disagreement between parents, a judge can ban one of them from posting or sharing a child’s pictures without authorization from the other. And in the most extreme cases, parents can lose their parental authority over their kids’ image rights “if the dissemination of the child’s image by both parents seriously affects the child’s dignity or moral integrity.”
The bill still needs to go through a plenary session next week and the Senate before it would become law.
