  • Surprise Inspection At PHC Ashtingo Reveals Widespread Employee Absence

    SRINAGAR: The Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Ashtingo, located in the Bandipora district, recently had a surprise inspection by the Block Medical Officer Bandipora, Dr Masarat Iqbal. During the inspection, it was discovered that 10 out of 12 staff members, including two medical officers, two pharmacists, three nurses, one BHW, one driver, and one sweeper, were absent from their duties. As a result, they have been put on notice by the BMO Bandipora.

    The employees have been issued a show-cause notice, requiring them to clarify their stance before any disciplinary measures are implemented. Additionally, the officer emphasized the importance of punctuality among the staff to ensure efficient service delivery.

    An order was issued after a surprise visit was conducted at PHC Ashtingoo on March 13th, 2023, around 11:00 AM. The officers and officials who were discovered to be late on duty have been instructed to provide an explanation as to why disciplinary action should not be taken against them under the rules. The reply should be submitted in the office u/sd within a day. Furthermore, the order states that their RDA, which amounts to 2 ½ days’ salary, will be deducted for the month of March 2023.

    A separate order has been issued by the BMO, indicating that Dr Saboor Sikandar, a Medical Officer at PHC Ashtingoo, has been suspended immediately due to his unauthorized absence from his official duties on March 15th, 2023. The order further directs Dr. Sikandar to report to the office of u/sd without delay. (KNO)

    DC Shopian conducts surprise visit of DH Shopian, PHC Tukroo

    SHOPIAN, MARCH 10: To assess the provision of health services being provided to the public, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today conducted surprise visits of various healthcare centres of the district, including District Hospital Shopian.

    During the visit, the DC toured various sections of the District Hospital and took stock of the medical facilities being provided to the patients there.

    He visited different sections and wards including OPD, Registration counter, USG centre, CT scan room, wards and other sections of the hospital and enquired about the functioning of USG and CT scan machine. He was apprised about the clinical and non clinical services being given to the patients, attendants and general public visiting the hospital.

    The DC directed the BMO Shopian, Dr. Mohammad Yousuf to ensure provision of quality medicare facilities to the public.

    Later, the DC inspected the PHC Tukroo and took stock of Medicare facilities there and directed the health functionaries to provide better healthcare treatment to the patients.

    The DC also interacted with the patients at both the hospitals and enquired about the medical facilities being provided to them and sought feedback from the public on a variety of issues concerning healthcare.

    The DC also checked the attendance and directed the healthcare functionaries to work with utmost dedication and punctuality.

    Kupwara ,Mar 9: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray today conducted surprise inspection of Primary Health Centre Unisoo of Langate.

    While scrutinising the attendance roll, the DC found five employees absent and taking serious note of this casual attitude of the employees, he directed the CMO Kupwara to take strict action against them.

    Absent employees included a doctor, three pharmacists, and an FMPHW.

    Deputy Commisioner, also asked CMO Kupwara to conduct surprise visits at all the health institutions so that essential public services could be provided to people in an efficient manner.(GNS)
