5500 and counting: Siasat performs dignified burial of unclaimed Muslim bodies

Hyderabad: Imagine how bad it would feel if the bodies of unknown Muslim men and women were set on fire in a crematorium or buried somewhere away from the city without performing namaz-e-janaza. Thanks be to Allah (SWT), He has filled the hearts and minds of Hyderabadis with love, compassion, sincerity and respect for others, especially for those in need. In this regard, the readers of Siasat have shown special kindness and warmth to its Editor Zahid Ali Khan and Siasat Millat Fund. It has so far performed dignified burial of the bodies of about 5,500 unidentified Muslim men, women and children.
It should be noted that the funeral prayers of seven unidentified Muslim men will be offered at Jama Masjid Dar-ul-Shifa on Thursday. The prayer will be held after Zohar. Maulana Qari Muhammad Abdul Bari will offer namaz-e-janaza while Syed Khwaja Maazuddin Ashrafi Khalifa AllamaMadaniMiyan Ashrafi will offer prayers for forgiveness of the departed souls.

Editor of Siasat Zahid Ali Khan started the movement for disposing of unidentified Muslim bodies in 2003. Since then, on average 20 to 25 unidentified Muslim bodies have been buried every month in various graveyards in the city and suburbs.

News Editor of Siasat Amer Ali Khan receives letters from different police stations of Hyderabad and Secunderabad requesting the burial of bodies of unidentified Muslim men and women. Siasat Millat Fund is doing this service with the cooperation of its generous donors, otherwise, before 2003, the bodies of unknown Muslim men and women were burnt due to lack of resources. May Allah (SWT) give the donors and people involved in this noble cause with best reward for this good deed.
It should be noted that former Asst.Sub-Inspector Syed Zahid Hussain Shah Qadri has played an important role in this noble cause and he has been engaged in this noble work with his team for 18 years.
Maulana Muhammad Hameeduddin Aqeel Husami, Maulana Qabool Pasha Suttari, Sheikh-ul-Jamia Nizamia Mufti Khalil Ahmed, Ameer Jamia Nizamia Maulana Akbar Nizamuddin, Maulana Mufti Sadiq Mohiuddin Fahim, Maulana Ghulam Nabi Shah Naqshbandi, Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rehmani, Maulana Syed Khwaja Maazuddin Ashrafi, Maulana Arshad Qasmi, Maulana Jafar Pasha and other scholars have attended the funeral prayers.
According to Syed Zahid Hussain Shah Qadri, Muhammad Abdul Jalil, who has gone to perform Umrah, said on the phone that during the tawaf, he prayed especially for those who contributed to the Millat Fund and also prayed for forgiveness for the departed souls.
It is pertinent to mention here that Syed Zubair Hashmi, Syed Abdul Mannan, Muhammad Abdul Jalil, Samiullah Khan, Muhammad Jafar, Muhammad Afsar, Inayatullah Khan, Abdul Jabbar, Muhammad Iqbal, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, Osman Al-Hajri, Bushra Tabassum, Faheem-unissa participate in this noble work.

Meezaan Jafri performs Umrah ahead of Eid

Mumbai: Ahead of Eid, actor-comedian Jaaved Jaffrey’s son Meezaan Jafri reached the holy city of Mecca to perform Umrah.
Taking to Instagram stories, the ‘Hungama 2’ actor posted a couple of pictures and videos from his visit to the holy city.
In one frame, Meezaan is clad in a white shawl, a typical attire to perform Umrah. He captioned the post as ‘Umrah’. In another frame, he wrote, “4 hr drive later, No sleep, No sehri, But we got to finish what we came to do…” as he reached the Masjid Al Nabawi.

Earlier Television actor Hina Khan and Bigg Boss contestants Aly Gony and Asim Riaz also participated in Umrah, this year.
On the work front, Meezaan made his debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Malaal’, which tanked at the box office.
The actor was last seen in the comedy-drama ‘Hungama 2’, which was released on the OTT platform Disney plus Hotstar.
Meezaan will next be seen in ‘Yaariyan 2’ alongside Divya Khosla Kumar, and Pearl V Puri. Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru of ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ fame have come on board to direct the second instalment. ‘Yaariyan’, which was directed by Divya, starred Himansh Kohli, Rakul Preet Singh and Nicole Faria.
‘Yaariyan 2’ also stars Yash Das Gupta, Anaswara Rajan, Warina Hussain, and Priya Varrier in pivotal roles.

AMU team performs well in PROTOLITH 2023

A team of seven postgraduate students from the Department of Geology, Aligarh Muslim University participated in PROTOLITH 2023, the 4th national level Student Technical Symposium organized by the Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Bombay.
Chairman, Prof Kr. Farahim Khan said that the AMU team, including Aditi Gupta, Ayan Ahmad, Dilisha Saboor Kidwai, Joitree Mukharjee, Mohd Arbaaz, Mohd Talha and Rohit Gupta, obtained the first position in Pirates of Protolith (a treasure hunt event), second in Earthitect (a model presentation competition), third in Proto-hunter (a geophysical challenge) and fourth position in Brainfoldy (a quiz competition).
Prof Farahim congratulated the team on its success and said such achievements reaffirm the Department’s commitment to nurture the young talents.

Hyderabad: Indian tennis star Sania Mirza is currently in Makkah, Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah during the holy month of Ramzan. She has been accompanied by her parents and sister Anam Mirza for the pilgrimage. Both Sania and Anam have constantly been sharing glimpses of their holy trip to Makkah and Madinah on their social media accounts.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Sania Mirza shared a video showing her performing Umrah in Makkah. Over 15K fans go wild as MC Stan performs in Hyderabad – Watch

Hyderabad: One of the current music sensations, rapper, and Bigg Boss 16 winner MC Stan performed at a concert in Hyderabad on Friday leaving the audience spellbound with his electrifying performance. The concert, which took place on March 10, 2023, at Gachibowli Stadium, was attended by thousands of fans who had gathered to see the rising star in action.
Fans who attended MC Stan’s concert yesterday said that the rapper performed a mix of old and new tracks, blending rap and hip-hop to create a unique sound that kept the audience engaged throughout the event.
Dressed in his signature streetwear, MC Stan took to the stage amidst loud cheers and applause from the crowd. Telangana: Pawan Kalyan performs puja of his campaign vehicle at Kondagattu temple

Hyderabad: Actor politician Pawan Kalyan performed a special puja for his campaign vehicle ‘Varahi’ at Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple in Telangana on Tuesday.
Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader had darshan at the famous temple at Kondagattu in Jagtial district. Subsequently, a group of priests performed the vahana puja of the special campaign vehicle. After the rituals, the actor politician launched the vehicle.
A large number of Pawan Kalyan’s fans and JSP supporters had gathered on the occasion.
They garlanded the Tollywood actor, who greeted the well wishers with folded hands from an open-top vehicle.
Earlier, the JSP leader left Hyderabad for Kondagattu in a huge convoy. He is scheduled to meet JSP leaders in Telangana at a resort near Nachupalli in the evening. He will then reach Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Kshetram at Dharmapuri town to launch the darshan of 32 Narasimha Swamy khsetras.
The actor has sentimental attachment to the region as he had a narrow escape during the election campaign in 2009 in Karimnagar district when a high tension wire fell on his vehicle. He firmly believes that he survived because of the blessing of Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy and hence decided to launch the important programme from this temple.
Gearing up for the 2024 electoral battle in Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan had last month unveiled a specially designed vehicle named ‘Varahi’. The campaign vehicle is equipped with high-security features. It has a public address system and CCTV cameras.
The vehicle has been designed in a garage in Hyderabad. “Varahi is ready for election battle,” the Tollywood actor had tweeted.

The JSP leader inspected the vehicle, which resembles a military bus, during a trial run in Hyderabad. He had discussed various features of the vehicle with technical experts and suggested a few modifications.
The four-wheeler will be used by the JSP leader to campaign across Andhra Pradesh, where elections are due in April-May 2024.
Power star, as the actor is popularly known, had planned to launch the state-wide tour after Dasara but the same has been postponed and he is now likely to embark on a visit in next few weeks.
However, a row had erupted over the colour of the vehicle after an official of Andhra Pradesh transport department had stated that Pawan Kalyan is not permitted to drive the olive green vehicle.
The official said under the Motor Vehicle Act, olive green colour should not be used for any private vehicle except for Army personnel.
Pawan Kalyan, who is an ally of BJP, is working to cobble up a grand alliance against the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). He is keen to have alliance with BJP and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to avoid a split of anti-incumbency.
