Hyderabad: Communist Party of India (CPI) National Secretary K Narayana on Monday said the party would organise a
padayatra from April 14 to May 15 throughout India against PM Modi government’s rule.

“A call has been given by CPI from April 14 to May 15, to launch a padayatra to meet the people. We will go to every village, meet the people and explain the dangerous rule of the PM Modi government in all aspects including corporate, development and all common problems.

We are conducting this program throughout India,” CPI National Secretary K Narayana told ANI in Hyderabad.

“We want to explain the dangers coming from the Prime Minister to the country, the Constitution, democracy and secularism. We also want to unite all anti-BJP forces,” he added.

Speaking on PM Modi’s degree he said, “I am unable to understand how he is lying being a Prime Minister. He is lying about everything including his graduation certificate.

This is not about the qualification or the Prime Minister, the question is why is he hiding his graduation certificate unethically and lying about it.”

He also appreciated KCR’s decision to participate in the bid for the Vishakhapatnam steel plant and said, “Telangana Chief Minister KCR is ready to participate in the bid for the Visakhapatnam steel plant.

Around 32 students died during the agitation ‘Visakha Ukku Andhrula Hakku’. It is a prestigious public sector undertaking.”
Telangana state government is ready to participate in the bid.

We welcome the decision and congratulate Telangana CM. CPI and our trade unions will support KCR to keep the public sector, he further said.

  • Telangana: Sharmila to resume padayatra from Jan 28

Telangana: Sharmila to resume padayatra from Jan 28

    [ad_1]

Hyderabad: YSR Telangana party chief Y S Sharmila on Tuesday announced the resumption of her ‘Praja Prasthanam Padyatra‘ on January 28.

The leader came down heavily on chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and mocked him for ‘enthralling’ in national politics while keeping Telangana citizens in distress for the past nine years.

“It has been only the YSRTP that steadfastly and unconditionally took on KCR and his corrupt and tyrannical government. We never bowed down even when they tried hard to corner us, abusing power and authority,” said the YSR chief.

“With honesty in our intentions and affection for Telangana, and above all, recalling the people-friendly reign of YSR, we travelled across Telangana and covered 3500km, only to be troubled and threatened by KCR, who was now scared of our growing prominence and the manner in which we exposed their local MLAs and MPs.” added Sharmila.

Recounting the chain of events that she claimed were born out of KCR’s growing sense of insecurity, Sharmila went on to add, “We will continue to battle his inefficient rule marked by failed promise, as we did with Kaleshwaram or Palamuru or unemployment or other issues.”

“My entry to Paleru has rocked his morale and now he realized that the YSRTP is growing in its popularity and presence in the entire district along with contiguous parts of Nalgonda,” she contented.

YS Sharmila also ruled out early elections to the Telangana Assembly, as she claimed KCR was not ready to take on the anti-incumbency and also for the much-needed stature as a chief minister to travel across the country.

She further lashed out at Congress’s Revanth Reddy and BJP’s Bandi Sanjay for their inefficiency in exposing KCR and his corruption.

  • DGP’s queries on padayatra by Lokesh unwanted, says TDP

DGP’s queries on padayatra by Lokesh unwanted, says TDP

    [ad_1]

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh’s opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Sunday reacted strongly to Director General of Police (DGP) K.V. Rajendranath Reddy seeking details of party leader Nara Lokesh’s padayatra.

TDP politburo member, Varla Ramaiah said that the DGP has raised several unwanted and undesirable queries on padayatra by the party general secretary.

Lokesh, son of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, proposed to launch a 4,000 km long padayatra from Kuppam on January 27.

Though Varla Ramaiah has written to the DGP seeking permission for the foot march, the police have still not accorded the permission. The DGP on Saturday wrote a letter to Ramaiah seeking a route map, details of people and vehicles in the yatra.

Strongly responding to the DGP’s missive, Varla Ramaiah has made it clear that this is not for the first time in the history of the nation that a leader is undertaking a padayatra. “The former prime minister, Mr Chandra Sekhar, the former chief ministers of the State, the Late NTR and the Late YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the former chief minister, Mr Nara Chandrababu Naidu, and those who fought for Independence like the Mahatma Gandhi also went on padayatra,” he pointed out.

Varla Ramaiah also mentioned in his letter the recent Bharat Jodo yatra by the AICC leader, Rahul Gandhi and the padayatra by Sharmila, the sister of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The TDP leader requested the DGP to take measures to provide proper security for the ‘Yuva Galam’, to be undertaken by Nara Lokesh, from January 27.

The TDP politburo member said that Lokesh, through his padayatra, intends to bring awareness among the public on various issues plaguing the state like lack of employment opportunities, poor welfare and development in the state.

Stating that the Yuva Galam is tentatively planned to begin on January 27 from Kuppam to Itchapuram covering around 125 Assembly segments spread over 4000 km, Varla Ramaiah said that the detailed schedule of the padayatra will be provided to the local sub-divisional police officers (SDPOs) ahead of the schedule to enable the local police to provide necessary security arrangements.

“In a democracy, it is quite natural that the political parties meet the public through various means to move closer to the people to address their grievances and the padayatra is only one such mechanism. The number of people taking part in the padayatra depends on the local issues and it is the duty of the local police to estimate and assess as to how many people will be taking part in the programme,” Varla Ramaiah said in his letter.

He also made it clear in his letter that the detailed schedule, including the night halts will be intimated to the local police and stated that some vehicles like prachara ratham, two sound vehicles, four vehicles in Lokesh convoy and a media van will form part of the vehicles accompanying him.
