  • Outsiders Buy 185 JK Properties In Last 3 Years: Govt

    SRINAGAR: The Centre on Wednesday said that 185 persons from outside Jammu and Kashmir bought land in the Union Territory during 2020, 2021, and 2022.

    In a written reply to a question, Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, informed the Rajya Sabha that only one person bought land in 2020, while 57 persons bought land in 2021 and 127 in 2022. “Further, as per the information provided by the Union Territory of Ladakh, no land has been bought by persons from outside the UT during the last three years,” he said.

    He said, as per the information provided by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, a total of 1559 Indian companies, including multinational companies, have made investments in the UT.

    “In the 2020-21 financial year, 310 entities invested, while 175 invested in 2021-22 and 1074 in 2022-23,” he said, adding that as per the information provided by the Union Territory of Ladakh, no Indian companies, including multinational companies, have invested in the UT during the last three years.     Langate, March 02: In a major boost to NC boost in Langate constituency, the DDC Nutnosa Zahoor Ahmed and senior NC leader Haji Mohammad Munawar Khawaja presided together over maiden meeting of workers in Langate Kulangam after the delimitation.

    During the meeting, DDC Nutnosa and Haji Mohammad Munawar Khawaja said that outsiders won’t be allowed to take people of Langate for ride. No outsider will be allowed to interfere into the party affairs in Langate.

    The DDC Nutnosa and Haji Mohammad Munawar Khawaja came together to take lead of party in Langate constituency.

    On the occasion Munawar Khawaja said that the people want the local leadership to serve the sentiments of people. No outsider would be allowed to take people of Langate for free ride. People want local representatives to lead them, he said.

    DDC Nutnosa, also assured his assistance to make the party strong in Langate, he said we will work together to ensure NC gets opportunity to serve the of Langate.

    Besides other, several other senior leaders were present in the meeting including, Gh Rasool Malla, Ghulaam Hassan Malik, Nazir Ahmad Malik, Ghulaam Hassan Dar, Sharifudin Geelani, Fayaz Ahmad shah, Haji mohd Asharf Malik, Ab Rashid Bhat Shilhal, Master Nazir Ahmad khan and Mehboob Magray block president kandi.

    SRINAGAR: Former minister and president Apni Party, Syed Altaf Bukhari on Monday said that they won’t allow an inch of Jammu & Kashmir’s land to be provided to outsiders.

    Addressing a news conference, Bukhari, as per the news agency KNO said the drive to retrieve state and Kahcharai land from the land grabbers must exclude poor people.

    “Those who have grabbed a huge chunk of land can be dealt with strictly, but those who belong to the downtrodden section of the society must be excluded from the drive,” he said.

    Bukhari, however, said that the land being retrieved will not be given to people from outside.

    He further said that only five per cent land of J&K can be provided for industrial purposes to outsiders, but this law can be changed by the next government in Jammu and Kashmir.

    Responding to the query, he said that he believes that Kuka Parrey father of Imtiyaz Parrey, who recently joined the Apni Party, was better than other politicians.

    “Whatever Kuka Parrey did, he did at the face value and other politicians did the same behind the curtains, so Kuka Parrey was better than those politicians,” he said.

    About Bharat Jodo Yatra, Bukhari said that he has not been invited to the Yatra.

    Following a fight between two groups on campus on Thursday, videos from Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi showed dozens of students walking about with wooden sticks in hand, NDTV reported.

    Students from Tapti Hostel and students from another hostel reportedly got into a fight. Soon after, according to reports, a large fight broke out on campus.

    The report further said that the police are on the spot. But no complaints have been made as of yet.
