    Two day programme on Nund Reshi RA organized by Indra Gandhi National Centre for Arts, J&K

    Kulgam: A two day programme on Nund Reshi(RA), to show case the mystic tradition of sufism through music and symposium, was organized on 15th and 16th March-2023 by Indra Gandhi National Centre for Arts, J&K in collaboration with AKWO foundation Kulgam at Aharbal Main Park and Govt Degree College Kulgam. On day first a sufiana mahfil on Shruk (Nund Reshi’s sayings) was held at Aharbal. The event was itself a historic one as this was the first time when a spiritual gathering was organized to remember the mystic traditions of a great sufi saint of Kashmir whose sayings are reverberating in the hearts of every kashmiri. The event started in a traditional manner with the burning of izband (harmala) in a Kangiri to spread the aura of spiritual fragrance. The chairperson AKWO foundation Kulgam Mr Uwais Amin formally welcomed the participants. The session bloomed with two famous musical bands of artistic performance. In first part Mohd Yousuf Beigh and Saznavaz performed Shruks in a pure sufina in accordance with special Muqams of Mousiqui. The band was also consisting female performers providing uniqueness to this event. In second part Mehnaz Sangeet Group performed Chakri and Rouh. This sufi musical event of Shruks was attended by the District Development Commissioner Kulgam Dr Bilal Mohiuddin as Chief Guest accompanying with other administrative officers. The Khadimans (special devotees) of the different shrines of Nund ReshiRA also attended the event and were felicitated by organizers with kashmiri shawls. The event was also attended by locals, students of Degree College Kulgam, teachers & civil society members of the District Kulgam. The proceedings of this event started at 1:00 pm and concluded at 5:00 pm.

    On the second day, a symposium on “Life and Teachings of Nund ReshiRA” was held in the Seminar Hall of Govt Degree College Kulgam. A total of five speakers from different parts of valley presented their papers on different dimensions of life and teaching of Nund ReshiRA. The programme started at 11:00 am with recitation of Shruk by Bisma Jan. Dr Jahangeer Iqbal, Head Department of Persian, University of Kashmir spoke on the life of Nund Reshi. Dr Shahida Shabnam, Assistant Prof. Govt. Degree College Dangiwacha, Baramullah presented a paper on “Nund Reshi: life and art of living”. The 3rd paper on “Nund Reshi and his society” was presented by Dr Nusrat Jan, Assistant Prof. Kashmiri, Govt. Degree College for Women M.A Road, Srinagar. During the proceedings of programme Dr Nisar Ahmad Bhat, Assistant Professor Kashmiri, Govt Degree College Kulgam spoke on the topic “Nund Reshi in the pursuit of spirituality”. The renowned writer of the valley Yousuf Jahangeer presented a detailed paper on Nund Reshi as a nature lover. The session was attended by different scholars, language activists, devotees of Nund Reshi, Professors and the students of the college. The presidential remarks were presented by Principal Degree College Kulgam, Prof (Dr) Manzoor Ahmad Lone who was the chief guest on the occasion. The mementoes were distributed among the speakers as a token of love and gratitude. The whole proceedings of the two day programme was conducted by Dr Nisar Ahmad Bhat. The session concluded with formal vote of thanks by Dr Hashim Iqbal Assistant Professor and Head Department of History Degree College Kulgam.

  • CGWC IMHANS Kashmir Organized One Day Capacity Building Program For Pediatricians

    SRINAGAR: Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience, Kashmir (IMHANS-K) Department of Child psychiatry on Wednesday organized one day capacity building program for Pediatricians on Child and Adolescent Mental Health, in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services Kashmir under the initiative of “Waliv Kath Karaw”.

    According to statement, more than fifty Pediatricians, Medical officers, consultants from different districts of the Kashmir valley joined the program.

    During the program a team of resource persons from Department of Child Psychiatry IMHANS along with Dr Majid Shafi the nodal officer from District Mental Health Program at Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, reads the statement.

    Dr Abrar Ahmad Consultant Psychiatrist IMHANS-K, Dr Bilal Ahmad and Jagmeet Singh the Clinical Psychologists from IMHANS-K, trained the pediatricians about the overall paradigm of mental health particularly about the approach to Child Psychiatry through community Pediatricians, Learning Disability, approach to Hyperactivity among Children and to build the referral pathways for the better interest of Child mental Health, it reads.

    Dr Zaid Wani , Head of Child Psychiatry IMHANS-K, while lauding the efforts of the team and Directorate of Health Services Kashmir said that such programmes especially when pediatricians who are the frontline doctors in the treatment of children, can play a vital role with better results in catering child mental health at communities

    Dr Majid Shafi in his session educated the fellow doctors about the importance of role of pediatricians in diagnosis, handling and referring of children with mental health issues.

    Syed Mujtaba coordinator of the training program in his concluding remarks added that, the department of Child psychiatry is trying to sensitize, enhance the capacity of each and every stake holder dealing with the children  within their spaces so there can be a better promotion and protection of child mental health, reads the statement.

    LUCKNOW, JANUARY 31: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressed a seminar on Jammu Kashmir organized by Mahamana Malaviya Mission at Lucknow.

    Speaking on the occasion the Lt Governor said, “J&K’s journey since August 2019 & robust and consistent growth has given new confidence and people are striving their utmost in pursuit of a common vision to build a bright future.”

    We have given greater thrust to infrastructure development, transforming rural landscape, best health care facilities, making governance responsive, transparent, easily accessible & reviving agriculture, industry & service sector for sustainable development, the Lt Governor observed.

    Highlighting the performance of Jammu Kashmir in different sectors and achievements, the Lt Governor said the administration has taken several measures to ensure social equality so that all citizens enjoy equal economic opportunity and they are empowered to contribute to nation building.

    Today, every citizen of J&K is contributing to UT’s journey of progress. All sections of society, farmers, youths, women, tribals in J&K are feeling empowered for the first time in seven decades, the Lt Governor observed.

    Sharing the historic journey of new J&K over the past three years, the Lt Governor said under the guidance of the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the city of Jammu has emerged as the centre of educational institutions. Tourism sector is scaling new height. The glorious era of film shooting has also returned to Jammu Kashmir.

    “Following the ideals of Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya, our endeavour is to enhance economic prosperity in rural areas and fulfill the resolution of AtmaNirbhar Jammu Kashmir,” the Lt Governor said.

    “The development and productive engagement of youth of Jammu Kashmir has been prioritized. Employment avenues in the government, corporate sector and opportunities are being provided to young boys and girls to become entrepreneurs. Since August 2019, financial assistance and requisite training has been provided to 6 lakh young boys and girls to start their business venture,” the Lt Governor added.

    Sh. Prabhu Narain Srivastava, President, Mahamana Malaviya Mission; Sh Devendra Swaroop Shukla, General Secretary; Dr A K Thakkar, Vice President, Mahamana Malaviya Mission; Sh Ajay Srivastav, Trustee, Narayan Seva Sansthan; office bearers and large number of people were present on the occasion.

    Hyderabad: Gifts and Stationery India (GSI) and Telangana Facility Management Council (TFMC) have joined forces to organize the ‘Good Act – Walkathon 2023’ to raise awareness about cancer.

    The walkathon consisted of participants walking from 6 am to 8 am on Sunday morning through the streets of Hyderabad.

    This walkathon, held on the 22nd of January, Sunday, was organized as part of a larger initiative to better society and increase awareness regarding cancer.

    Logistical support for the event was provided by major corporate houses based in Hyderabad, such as Vodafone, Sutherland Global, NITHM, JLL, CBRE and several others.

    The idea behind organizing this walkathon was to bring together individuals who are passionate about making a change and contributing meaningfully towards bettering society.

    The event saw participants from different walks of life and backgrounds come together for a common cause. The objective was to create an open platform that would allow everyone to contribute in their own way toward reducing the prevalence of cancer-related illnesses in the region.

    Rakhi Mukherjee – Founder of GSI/ Expo Galaxia pvt Ltd, Satyanarayan Mathala – President TFMC, Dr Chinnam Reddy- Director – NITHM, Dr Usha Yanamandra- CEO- PROWESS IMAGE, Raman Rao- Vodafone Idea, Gourishankar Balawadgi – Sutherland Global and Key people have been part of the Walkathon.
