Disassembly

Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad has issued an orange alert for Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana due to intense rainfall and hailstorm expected on April 27, 2023. After a day’s break, the city is expected to experience heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and hailstorms towards the evening or night.
According to the IMD Hyderabad, all six zones in Hyderabad, namely Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, and Serilingampally, are likely to experience a generally cloudy sky with light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers.
Apart from Hyderabad, other districts of Telangana, including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Siddipet, Rangareddy, Medchal Malkajigiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, and Mahabubnagar, are also expected to witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hailstorm, and gusty winds with heavy rainfall.
The Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) has also forecasted light to moderate rainfall in the city today.
However, there will not be a significant difference in temperature in Hyderabad, with the maximum temperature expected to be in the range of 36-40 degrees Celsius.
Though rainfall in Hyderabad brings respite from the summer heat, it also possesses a lot of challenges, especially when it comes to power cuts and heavy traffic.
As electrical infrastructure in the city is not always able to handle the heavy rainfall, outages take place that can last for hours.
Another problem that arises during rainfall in Hyderabad is heavy traffic. The city’s roads are often clogged with vehicles, and the situation worsens when it rains. The traffic snarls can cause long delays, making it difficult for people to reach their destinations on time.
In view of the forecast made by both IMD Hyderabad and TSDPS, residents are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions to avoid any unforeseen situations. It is recommended to avoid traveling during the heavy downpour and stay indoors if possible.

Srinagar, Mar 30 : Weather department on Thursday issued an orange warning for isolated heavy rain and thunder and lightning in Jammu and Kashmir on March 31.
A meteorological department official here told that there was forecast for scattered light rain and thunder over Jammu and Kashmir in the next 24 hours.
For subsequent two days, he said, there was possibility of widespread moderate rain, thunder and snow (mainly over upper reaches).
Besides orange alert for March 31 for “isolated heavy rain thunder/ lightning” and disruption of traffic on Jammu-Srinagar Highway, the MeT department has also issued yellow warning for March 30 and April 1 to 3.
There are four types of colour codes signifying the level of caution: green which means no action, yellow—situation to be watched, orange–government agencies need to be prepared for severe weather and red –action needed by the agencies.
Meanwhile the minimum temperatures recorded increase at most places and settled in Qazigund nad Pahalgam.
The official said that Srinagar recorded a low of 6.6°C against 5.5°C on the previous night and it was 0.5°C above normal for the summer capital.
Qazigund, he said, recorded a low of 4.6°C against 2.6°C on the previous night and it was 0.1°C below normal for the gateway town of Kashmir.
Pahalgam, he said, recorded a low of 0.8°C against minus 0.3°C on the previous night and it was 0.8°C below normal for the famous tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Kokernag recorded a low of 4.9°C against 4.2°C on the previous night and it was 0.2°C above normal for the place, the officials said.
Gulmarg recorded a low of 0.0°C, the same as on the previous night and it was 0.8°C above normal for the world famous skiing resort in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, he said.
In Kupwara town, he said, the mercury settled at 5.7°C against 4.3°C on the previous night and it was 1.2°C above normal for the north Kashmir area.
Jammu recorded a low of 18.5°C against 15.5°C on the previous night. It was 1.9°C above normal for J&K’s winter capital, he said.
Banihal, he said, recorded a low of 7.0°C (above normal by 0.5°C), Batote 9.0°C (above normal by 0.5°C), Katra 15.2°C (1.4°C above normal) and Bhadarwah 6.2°C (0.8°C above normal). Ladakh’s Leh and Kargil recorded a low of minus 3.0°C and 0.5°C respectively. (GNS)

Hyderabad: Residents of Hyderabad who are expecting a much-needed respite from the summer heat from today till March 20 brace for heavy rainfall in the city as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for March 16 and 17 and a yellow alert till March 20.
The alert warns of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds with speeds of up to 30-40 kmph.
As per the weather department, all six zones in Hyderabad– Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad, and Serilingampally – are expected to have a generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rainfall or thundershowers are expected towards evening or night.
The maximum temperature in Hyderabad is expected to be below 36 degrees Celsius. With the arrival of the pre-monsoon season, Hyderabad can expect some relief from the scorching summer heat. The rainfall will also bring down the temperature, providing some relief to the residents of Hyderabad.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for the entire Telangana region for today and tomorrow, indicating that heavy rainfall is likely in the state.
The weather department also issued a yellow alert for the state till March 20.
Even the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) also forecasted light to moderate rainfall and thunderstorms at many places in the state including Hyderabad.
It also forecasted that the maximum temperature in the state is likely to fall to as low as 27 degrees Celsius. In Hyderabad, all circles are likely to see a significant dip in maximum temperature.
In view of the forecast made by both IMD Hyderabad and TSDPS, residents are advised to take necessary precautions and plan their travel accordingly.
