  • “Now so many guns around me…”: Salman Khan opens up on receiving death threat

“Now so many guns around me…”: Salman Khan opens up on receiving death threat

    [ad_1]

Mumbai: Salman Khan, who has been receiving death threats and is on the target list of gangsters, finally shared his experience and how he is dealing with it.

The ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ actor has been provided with Y+ category security by the Mumbai Police amid the death threat.

Salman shared the experience at India TV’s show ‘Aap ki Adalat’ that, “Security is better than insecurity. Yes security is there. Now it is not possible to ride a bicycle on the road and go alone anywhere. And more than that, now I have this problem that when I am in traffic, then there is so much security, vehicles creating inconvenience to other people. They also give me a look. And my poor fans. There is a serious threat that’s why there is security.”

    MS Education Academy

He added, “I am doing whatever I have been told. There is a dialogue ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ ‘they have to be lucky 100 times, I have to be lucky once’. So, I got to be very careful.”

Salman continued, “I am going everywhere with full security. I know whatever is going to happen will happen no matter what you do. I believe that (points towards god) that he is there. It is not that I will start roaming freely, it is not like that. Now there are so many Shera’s around me, so many guns are going around with me that I am myself scared these days.”

Following the death threat, few days ago, a minor was arrested by Mumbai Police for allegedly threatening to kill Salman during a phone call.

Mumbai Police said that a threat call was made to the Mumbai Police control room on April 10. The caller, who identified himself as Rockey Bhai from Jodhpur in Rajasthan, said he was a Gau Rakshak (cow-vigilante). The caller threatened to “eliminate” Salman Khan on April 30.

Mumbai Police added revealed the caller was found to be a minor. “As of now, we don’t think the call should be taken seriously. But we are probing why the minor behaved in such a way,” an officer said.

On March 26, one person identified as Dhakad Ram, a resident of Luni in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur district, was arrested for sending a threat mail to Salman. He was apprehended and taken into custody.

A case was registered at Bandra police station. The accused, in his mail, alleged that the superstar will meet the same fate as “Sidhu Moosewala.”

“A case has registered at Bandra police station with regard to emailed threats to kill Salman Khan. In a joint operation, Mumbai Police and Luni police teams caught the accused, Dhakad Ram, a resident of Luni in Jodhpur district,” Ishwar Chand Pareek, an officer at Luni police station of Jodhpur told ANI earlier.

Khan has been provided with Y+ category security by the Mumbai police after assessing threat perceptions. The Maharashtra government assigned security escorts to the superstar after the actor received a threat letter from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

  • UK Parliament watchdog opens investigation into PM Rishi Sunak

UK Parliament watchdog opens investigation into PM Rishi Sunak

    [ad_1]

London: UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is being investigated by UK Parliament’s commissioner for standards over a potential breach of rules relating to the declaration of interests, understood to be related to his links to a childcare firm in which his wife is an investor, media reports said on Monday.

The Commissioner, Daniel Greenberg, opened an investigation into the Prime Minister on Thursday last week, an update on the Commissioner’s website said, The Guardian reported.

The entry says only that it relates to paragraph six of the updated code of conduct for MPs, which states they “must always be open and frank in declaring any relevant interest in any proceeding of the house or its committees”.

    MS Education Academy

Sunak’s wife, Akshata Murty, is listed as a shareholder in Koru Kids, which is among six private childcare providers likely to benefit from a pilot scheme proposed in last month’s budget to incentivise people to become childminders, with 1,200 pounds offered to those who train through the agency, The Guardian reported.

On 28 March, Sunak did not mention his wife’s interest when speaking about the childcare changes before the liaison committee. He was asked by Labour MP Catherine McKinnell whether he had anything to declare. “No, all my disclosures are declared in the normal way,” he told McKinnell.

It later emerged that bosses from the company attended a Downing Street reception hours after Sunak’s committee appearance, The Guardian reported.

It is understood that McKinnell raised the issue with the commissioner.

Sunak does not list his wife’s shareholding on his register of interests as an MP, which MPs are required to update promptly.

Downing Street has argued that this is not necessary, because Sunak cited it on a separate register of ministerial interests. This, however, has not yet been published, as it is still being compiled by the new adviser on ministerial interests, Laurie Magnus, The Guardian reported.

  • Pakistan-China Khunjerab Pass trade route opens after 3 years

Pakistan-China Khunjerab Pass trade route opens after 3 years

    [ad_1]

Islamabad: In a major development for Pakistan-China trade relations, Khunjerab Pass, one of the pivotal trade routes between the two countries, has reopened after being shut down for almost three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

However, the route has been reopened as authorities from both sides have directed relevant quarters to complete all necessary measures to contain Covid-19 before the arrival of goods from Pakistan.

Official sources confirmed that the Chinese authorities have shared a letter with Pakistani authorities regarding the reopening of the pass for trade while port authorities have put in place, all pre-testing and precautionary measures to check all shipments from Pakistan.

    MS Education Academy

On the other hand, Pakistani authorities have also been instructed to take all measures regarding Covid-19 and to ensure the containment of the disease.

As per routine procedures, the Khunjerab Pass normally opens from April 1 to November 30 every year and remains closed from December 1 to March 31 primarily due to the cold weather and lack of oxygen in the high altitude.

However, in view of the urgent needs and other supplies, as well as smooth custom clearance of Pakistan’s supplies, the port was temporarily opened twice this year.

“Despite difficulties including extremely cold weather, heavy snow, and lack of oxygen, the local customs have worked round the clock to ensure transportation of cargo,” said an official source.

“The two temporary openings lasted for 12 days between January 30 and February 10, while the first port opening was between January 19-20. The two temporary openings facilitated 128 cross-border personnel visits, 328 transportation vehicles’ passes, and more than 6,000 tonnes of goods exported.”

The reopening of the Khunjerab Pass trade route is being seen as a major boost to the economic activities between Pakistan and China.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his delight over the reopening of the border, calling it a major pillar of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

“Reopening of Khunjerab Pass is critical to accelerating trade between Pakistan and China. The government is determined to unpack the full potential of CPEC by making it the centerpiece of our economic diplomacy for the region. Trade and connectivity are the building blocks of prosperity, he maintained.

“CPEC was a gift of progress and prosperity given by former Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif and the Chinese leadership for the region and the people.”

The Khunjerab Pass at 4,693-meter-high (15,397 ft), is the highest paved international border crossing in the world and the highest point on the Karakoram Highway.

It is located in a strategic position on the northern border of Pakistan (Gilgit-Baltistan Hunza and Nagar districts) and on the southwest border of China (Xinjiang).

  • Amazon opens Sidewalk wireless network to developers

Amazon opens Sidewalk wireless network to developers

    [ad_1]

San Francisco: Amazon has made its low-bandwidth, long-range wireless network Sidewalk accessible to outside developers, which powers some of its own devices such as Ring doorbells and Echo speakers.

By using the Sidewalk test kit, developers can now check their local signal strength on a map to determine whether their devices will connect to the network before developing a product, reports TechCrunch.

Amazon Sidewalk is a shared network that helps devices work better at home and beyond the front door, designed to connect low-power, long-range, low-data devices to the Internet.

This means Sidewalk can connect devices that aren’t within Bluetooth or Wi-Fi range.

“We’ve rapidly built out a long-range, low-bandwidth network that now covers more than 90 per cent of the US population, and this is an open invitation for developers to put it to the test,” Dave Limp, senior vice president of Amazon Devices & Services, was quoted as saying.

“Many types of connected devices have been limited by the range of Wi-Fi and the cost of cellular technology, which has hindered the ability to connect devices like environmental sensors, leak detectors and smart locks. Sidewalk is designed to provide a secure, low-cost way to invent and connect a whole new range of devices, and we can’t wait to see what developers build,” he added.

Meanwhile, Amazon will be shutting down its go-to camera reviews website “DPReview” in the near future after nearly 25 years of operation.

“The site will remain active until April 10, and the editorial team is still working on reviews and looking forward to delivering some of our best-ever content,” said Scott Everett, General Manager of DPReview.com.
