    Telangana: IPS officers transferred in second recent reshuffle

    Hyderabad: In a second recent reshuffle, the Government of Telangana issued transfer and posting orders for IPS and Non-Cadre officers here on Tuesday. Seven police officers have been posted and transferred to various districts in the state.

    According to a release by Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, the following are the transfers and postings.

    S Ranga Reddy, IPS (2009), who is waiting for a posting, is posted as the Superintendent of Police (PCS&S).

    Yogesh Goutam, IPS (2018), Assistant Superintendent of Police, Greyhounds is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin), Cyberabad.

    R Venkateswarlu, Superintendent of Police (NC), who is waiting for posting, is posted as Superintendent of Police (CID), Telangana, Hyderabad.

    J Raghavendar Reddy, Superintendent of Police (NC), who is waiting for posting is posted as Superintendent of Police (Admn), Railways.

    I Pooja, Superintendent of Police (NC) is retained as Principal, PTC, Warangal. She was earlier posted as Deputy Director of Telangana State Police Academy. The order is now canceled.

    C Satish, Superintendent of Police (NC), who is waiting for posting is posted as Superintendent of Police (Legal) O/o DGP, Telangana, Hyderabad. He was earlier posted as the principal of the Police Training Center in Warangal. The order is now canceled.

    D Muralidhar, Superintendent of Police (NC), who is waiting for posting is posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crimes, Warangal He was earlier posted as Superintendent of Police (Legal) O/o DGP, Telangana. The order is now canceled.

    Srinagar, Feb 06: Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar on Monday visited Baramulla and chaired a detailed review meeting.

    During the meeting, prevailing security scenario, anti-terrorist operations, additional measures for counter-infiltration grid like establishing more BOPs for enhancing intelligence gathering, effective investigation, law & order and anti-drug drive were discussed at threadbare, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

    On the occasion, the meeting was attended by DIG North Kashmir Range Vivek Gupta, SSP Baramulla, SSP Kupwara, SSP Bandipora, SSP Handwara and SSP Sopore.

    During the meeting, ADGP Kashmir was briefed by DIG North Kashmir about the overall prevailing security situation, & counter-Infiltration grids and counter-militant operations in the North Kashmir Range.

    While appreciating the efforts of Police for maintaining law & order, he emphasised upon the officers to adopt professional approach while dealing with counter militant operations.

    He also urged upon officers to strengthen the general security grid and ensure great synergy and coordination among all the agencies working on ground. He also emphasized upon the officers to keep strict vigil on the anti-national elements especially militant associates who are hell bent to disturb the peace and tranquillity of the valley. Special focus was given on handling drug menace and strict action against drug peddlers.

    With regard to area domination in hinterland, ADGP Kashmir directed the officers to revisit the existing plan in consultation with other forces and ensure proper area domination including night domination.

    He also directed the officers to ensure strict naka checking so as to restrict the movement of anti-national elements. While discussing investigation of cases, he stressed upon officers to complete investigation of pending cases on priority basis.

    While highlighting the role of police-public relations, ADGP Kashmir stressed on the officers to take public-centric approach in policing and ensure service-oriented policing which will help in gaining the confidence and bridge the gap between police and general public.

    JAMMU: Chief Secretary, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta on Monday chaired the 4th UT Level Apex Committee meeting of NCORD and held an in-depth review of all the ongoing activities happening across Jammu and Kashmir to combat the drug menace here.

    The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Home; DGP, J&K; Principal Secretary, Education; Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir; ADGP, Kashmir/Jammu; Commissioner Secretary, Forests; Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare; Secretary Health; Director, Information and Public Relations; Excise Commissioner; State Drug Controller; Zonal Director, NCB Jammu; SSP, ANTF and all the Deputy Commissioners and District SPs both in person and through video conferencing.

    Dr Mehta while addressing the officers remarked that the victims of drug abuse deserves handholding and every possible assistance to live a normal life. He impressed upon the officers that without showing any laxity on the ongoing war on drugs, focus should also be laid on rehabilitation of its victims.

    The Chief Secretary further exhorted upon the officers to involve PRIs as well as Anganwadi centres and schools for rehabilitation of drug abuse victims as well as for generating awareness among public particularly youth about the negative impact of drug abuse. He underscored that it is our collective duty to root out this plague from the society.

    and SSPs regarding efforts being made for combating this menace across Jammu and Kashmir. He also directed the Deputy Commissioners to hold monthly meetings by district NCORD committees without any fail and update the data of same on national NCORD portal. He told them to constitute special team of Drug Control department to look after ourAirports for drug peddling or smuggling of contraband substances.

    Earlier in the meeting, a detailed presentation on drug scenario in J&K and the challenges to counter the drug menace and efforts being made by all stakeholders to fight this problem was also presented before the Chief Secretary.

    It was given in the meeting that in Kashmir Division, a total of 159 drug dealers have been booked under PITNDPS while in Jammu Division 43 drug dealers have been detained during 2022.

    Similarly the meeting was informed that a total of 1850 FIRs have been registered while 2756 persons have been arrested for carrying out these illicit trade. Moreover during 2022, 240 kg Heroin, 498 kgs Charas, 249 Kg Ganja, and 178677 Caps/bottles/tabs of Scheduled drugs have been seized throughout J&K, as was revealed in this meeting.

    New Delhi: A total of 11 advocates and two judicial officers were on Monday appointed as additional judges in the high courts of Allahabad, Karnataka and Madras.

    Law Minister Kiren Rijiju announced the fresh appointments on Twitter and extended his best wishes to them.

    Those appointed include six for the Allahabad High Court, five for the Madras High Court and two for the Karnataka High Court.

    Two of the additional judges appointed to the Madras HC are judicial officers.

    The names of some of them were recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium last month.

    One of those appointed to the Madras High Court is advocate Lekshmana Chandra Victoria Gowri whose reported affiliation to the BJP had triggered a controversy.

    Some lawyers had recently asked the Collegium to recall its recommendation for Gowri alleging her affiliation. Some other lawyers had supported her elevation, citing hard work and her commitment to the profession.

    Additional judges are usually appointed for a period of two years before being elevated as permanent judges.

    Jammu, February 04: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated Civil Services Officers Institute (CSOI) at Jammu.

    Speaking on the occasion, the Lt Governor said the institute will promote welfare of officers, their families and bring them together to build close cooperation & interaction to reinforce our democratic values & to meet the challenges of nation building.

    “CSOIs in other states & at the Centre are playing important role as a nursery of ideas since many years. I am confident CSOI in J&K will render yeoman service to UT with systematic and continuous improvement in governance through seminars & debates on civil administration,”observed the Lt Governor.

    Speaking on the ongoing anti-encroachment drive across the UT, the Lt Governor said some people tried to spread misinformation that common man will be impacted in the anti-encroachment drive.

    “I want to assure the people that Administration will safeguard the habitations and livelihoods of common man. Only influential and powerful people who misused their position and violated the law to encroach upon the State land would face the law of the land,” said the Lt Governor.

    The Lt Governor reiterated that only those people who have grabbed land illegally through unfair means are facing the eviction.

    “I have personally directed the DCs and SSPs to closely monitor and ensure no innocent person is affected in any manner during anti-encroachment drive,” said the Lt Governor.

    Deputy Commissioners should have the knowledge of the activity of next day and media should be made aware about the names behind the encroachment of land so that the common man will get to know the truth, the Lt Governor further said.

    Speaking on the role of the Civil Services Officers Institute, the Lt Governor further observed that it will work as a bridge between different fields of Civil Administration and officers will get the opportunity to learn a lot from each other’s experiences.

    CSOI will strengthen the ethos of Good Governance and will evolve into a center for meaningful discussion on economic growth and social change, he added.

    The expectations of the people have increased and I have full faith that we all will work with dedication to meet their expectations and tackle the challenges of the future, added the Lt Governor.

    The Lt Governor noted that in today’s inter-connected world, new skills of public administration and uninterrupted dialogue between common man and officers are required for smooth functioning of Civil Administration.

    The Lt Governor said the success of Back to Village and My Town My Pride is testimony to our commitment of people-centric governance. The successful conduct of the two Jan-Abhiyan is the best example towards social welfare and inclusive development, he added

    “I can proudly say that we have been able to establish the most transparent and active administrative system in Jammu Kashmir. The feedback received on RAS proves that the public service delivery has won the trust of the common man,” said the Lt Governor.

    Highlighting the initiatives of e-Governance, the Lt Governor said more than 400 services have been made online. Remaining should also be made online soon in its true sense. The Public Services Commission has created a new milestone and declared the result in just three hours after the verification of the last candidate, he added.

    Chief Secretary, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta informed that the two CSOIs to be established in J&K.

    Sh Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lt Governor; Sh Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary; Former Chief Secretaries, Retd DGP, Senior officers, HODs were present on the occasion.

    Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj on Friday said that EROs and EAROs should have full understanding of election management keeping in mind the (upcoming) elections.

    Vikas Raj, who was the was the chief guest at a two-day training program for state level deputy Tahsildars (elections) at the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) office, said that officials involved in elections should be fully aware of the rules. The Telangana CEO stated that Assistant Electoral Registration (AERO) should properly instruct booth level officials about electoral rolls for the polls.

    The Election Commission of India (ECI) official said that and Booth Level Officers (BLO) should be able to provide information to citizens on all forms. “AEROs should be aware of election expenses and check the performance of Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) EVMs from time to time,” said Vikas Raj.

    The Telangana CEO also said that strong measures should be taken for effective polling in the state. “Voters should be given advance information about changes in their name, address and constituency. Before this, Form-6, 7, 8 should be spread widely,” said Vikas Raj during the programme the the GHMC area.

    Vikas Raj also explained that the appointed officials will provide training for two days on the management of electoral rolls and EVMs. 119 deputy Tahsildars (elections) of assembly constituencies in the GHMC area participated in the programme.

    SRINAGAR: Continuing the anti-encroachment drive, district administration Samba today retrieved 5 kanal and 13 marla prime land in Bari-Brahmana near Industrial estate, having market value worth crores.

    The revenue officers informed that the anti-encroachment drive was carried to reclaim state land in possession of a former Bureaucrat and wife of a retired Executive Engineer.

    During the anti-encroachment drive JCB machines were deployed to dismantle the boundary walls and other RCC structures erected on the site.

    The land was retrieved and notice boards indicating the status of land as state property was installed on the site.

    As per the concerned authorities several influential encroachers have been identified and the drive will continue to reclaim the occupied land.

    Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Promotes 366 Police Personnel

    Jammu, January 31, 2019: SJM Gillani, Additional Director General of Police, Armed, J&K, has ordered the promotion of 366 police officers.

    According to a statement, the promotion orders of one ASI and 365 Head Constables to the posts of SI and ASI were issued after the DPC, headed by ADGP Armed, assessed the cases of eligible ASIs and HCs and found them fit for promotion to their next ranks in light of the relevant promotion norms.

    The ADGP congratulated the newly promoted SIs and ASIs and hoped that they would demonstrate discipline, hard work, and dedication towards their assignments and always come up to the expectations of the people.

    Meanwhile, the police officer said that the promotion process for SgCTs and constables of the J&K Armed Police is also underway at the Armed Police Headquarters.

    Srinagar, Jan 31: Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh while acting swiftly on the reports of misconduct by an police official Tuesday issued serious directions to all ranks and files in the police force to act seriously against any official found involved in any sorts of misconduct.

    A senior police official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), thay the DGP
    has directed all Wing heads to take serious note of any kind of misconduct with the general public brought into their notice by any means. “He has directed the officers to sensitize and advise their subordinate officers/officials to be fair in their conduct,” the official quouting DGP as having said.

    The official said that the DGP has directed that any act of misconduct must be taken with utmost seriousness to safeguard and improve the image of J&K police.

    “PHQ has issued an advisory to all the Wing Heads of the J&K Police in this regard,” he said.

    “Let us have respect for the spirit of law while enforcing “Rule of Law”, the DGP has said.

    The directions have come in view of a case of misconduct by an SHO and other Police Station staff members in Ramban district with a doctor, the official said.

    “The erring personnel have been suspended and a departmental enquiry has been initiated by the DIG, D-K-R range,” he said.

    The DGP has said that “we are supposed to safeguard and protect against any wrong doings and injustice and have to be seen as Rakshak by the common people as has been said by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi”—(KNO)

    Srinagar, Jan 30 (GNS): The government on Monday ordered transfer of four JKAS officers with one of them, Syed Shahnawaz Assistant Commissioner, State Taxes, Enforcement (North), Baramulla, Kashmir, posted as Regional Transport Officer, Kashmir.

    According to separate orders, copies of which lie with GNS, Sajid Yehaya Naqash, JKAS, Regional Transport officer, Kashmir, has been transferred and has been asked to await further orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department.
